Thanks for this, and good for you for doing this. Whoever is telling you that they do not know why The Beatles are thought of so highly are, thankfully, part of a small minority. The Beatles were the best selling artists from 2000 - 2009 (overtaken at that point by Eminem), and were the best selling recording artists of the 20th. Century, and have still sold more than any other musicians on the planet. The reasons for their dominant, unassailable position in this regard is near universal appeal. The Beatles and Dylan turned Pop - an entertainment medium - into Rock, a vehicle for artistic expression. The Beatles brought ideas about things like Buddhism into mainstream Western consciousness; they introduced new sounds (e.g., what is now called 'World Music'), and instruments to the World at large - and none of The Beatles could read or write music notation, nor did they know any theory! Their musical and technical innovations are almost too many to count. What The Beatles did could not be deliberately planned and carried out. They are one of the most important cultural entities of the last few hundred years. Incredible.

Beatles had stopped touring by the time this song came out because their live shows were a circus with all the screaming. Beatles could not hear each other play their instruments. So they did their work inside a studio. Now and then, they would make a movie and interact with other people and then there's the video of Hey Jude where Beatles recorded it live, just the 4 of them but when the refrain came, suddenly lots of people stepped forward and sang the ' Na Na Na Na Na Na Na...Hey Jude' along with the Beatles.

They were almost killed in the Philippines for snubbing their first lady. That had the most effect on them. Also people were burning Beatles records in the US. They no longer wanted to be subjected to all the hate they were receiving at the time. So not hearing themselves was only a minor issue. Touring is a lot of work and it was no longer fun.

musically, Ringo was the most talented on his particular instrument. All of them could play the piano equally, as beginners and Three were intermediate guitar players. It was their song composition, melodies, harmonies, timing, and management with their production team that made them what they are. Many musicians reach their level of mastership of instruments easily, but their imagination is what made them unique.

What a great pleasure to see you for first time with a BEATLES song! "Hey Jude" (1968) is a universal classic, a popular anthem In my opinion it is the best BEATLES song and I am very happy that you enjoyed it I tell you that Paul McCartney always sings it in his recitals 50 years ago, and it is the moment when all the public joins in the song, without difference of religion, political, race And I had the immense joy of having seen him live on the field of play in his last visit to my country Argentina almost two years ago. I suggest that you look for the first BEATLES songs in the future, when BEATLEmania was born, example: "She loves you" (1963) it was the best-selling song in England in the entire 1960s: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWSTY558bbJ9Y6s And another request: please don't forget Swedish pop group ABBA they have a lot of great songs, they are as versatile as BEATLES I suggest the pop ballad "Chiquitita" when it premiered to benefit Unicef: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqTQlmmam5pratU I wish you a good week A cordial greeting from my city and country, Buenos Aires Argentina

A hymn of Grief and Transcendence: In a typically monumental act of genius, the Beatles link the domestic drama of Julian Lennon's shock of his father's impending divorce with the trauma the then revolutionary Baby Boomer generation felt worldwide with the assassinations of MLK and then Kennedy, following one the heals of police brutality and violence against the Boomers protesting against racism, ecological destruction, the Vietnam War, militarism, and economic injustice. The song, of course, retains its transcendent power with the Beatles' suggesting community over isolation, collective hope over individual despair as the Beatles unite in the long fade out. Genius. Heartbreaking, tragic genius.

I love these people who don't get The Beatles because they feel that they're vastly overrated. People who feel this way are vastly overrated when it comes down to knowing anything about not just music in general but especially when it comes down to appreciating the greatest band in the history of recorded m in history. In just Lp sales alone they have sold more than 800 million albums 🌎🌍 wide and this from a band that split up 51 years ago. One more here, as of September 2019 their song Here Comes The Sun written by George Harrison and off of their last Lp Abbey Road was the the most streamed song on Spotify with over 350 million streams and that was 50 years after they split up and it's currently up over 375 million streams. There were rock groups that had better musicians though not that many in the 60s. Great musicianship came forward more in 70s rock. What made the Beatles great, IMO, is that they had 3 outstanding songwriters, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. As such, you get lots of different musical styles in Beatles songs (depending on who wrote the song) and the songwriters pushed each other to do a song better than one from the other guy. Lennon and McCartney co-wrote some of the songs but that was mostly in the early years. By 1965 (or so) Lennon and McCartney were writing songs separately though they continued to credit both men on songs written by either one (for reasons that aren't entirely clear to me). For example, Hey Jude was written by Paul McCartney, but the writing credit is Lennon/McCartney. Same thing happened in reverse. A song written by Lennon would have Lennon/McCartney writing credit.
