It isn't the first time about western do that 🙄. Especially their medias. In Xinjiang China which Uyhurs citizens are more happy than the west forsure 👍. Actually 80% taiwanese are from mainland since 1959- not 400 years They lost the war and came to taiwan 20% are aboriginals and old minnan people from Fujian and Ryukyu islands

@@RoaminRob Yes, it does. In English, “Chinese” can refer to the culture, ethnicity or politics etc. As I said earlier, brush up on your English. Ethnically, most Taiwanese have ancestors from mainland China. Language wise, they mainly speak mandarin and a fujianese dialect. Culturally, they share the same festivities that originate from the mainland. But politically, we all know….

Uyghurs are not Turks like the west often claimed. The Eastern Turks actually enslaved the Uyghurs in the past. The Tang dynasty campaign against the Eastern Turks of 629-630 was an armed conflict that resulted in the Tang dynasty destroying the Eastern Turkic Khaganate and annexing its territories. It was at that time Uyghurs were free of Eastern Turks. Most of the Turks were forced to leave China and migrated to the west and fused with other ethnic groups.

The eastern Turks nowadays have nothing to do with the ones that were in China before the Tang dynasty. This is just like the Jews trying to claim land they haven’t lived and own for thousands of years of years. And the west forcibly carved a piece of land for them.
