I love this message....kept writing notes on my phone. I'll refer to them again and again. I want to meet the needs of my wife and make her feel loved, understood and cared for. This is a gem of a message and a timeless one. Wives, don't be afraid to share this message with your husband. Also check the message that addresses the needs of your man again by Jimmy Evans. This is very true. I can especially relate to the husband being rough. My husband like to wrestle, jump on me, play fight, etc and I can’t stand it. Even when I tell him to stop he doesn’t listen. It’s gotten to the point where it actually makes me cringe when he touches me or tries to touch me because I know what’s coming and he is much stronger than me so I have a hard time getting him to stop. He gets mad and takes it as me rejecting him when I don’t want him to touch me, but really I don’t like the way he touches me.

I agree 100% with all this.. but I have a wife that just had a week off of work from her computer and as soon as soon as I walk in the bedroom she puts on her eye massager and then when I try to touch her she pushes me away. I'm trying so hard to love her how I'm supposed to but the constant rejection is getting overwhelming. If anybody cares to pray for my family please do. I'm afraid to know what's really going on but her loving me is not part of it.

Can you answer me this:- My husband has had an on off affair with the same woman. I still love him and I have battled over the years to try and make it work for us. He is 77 and I'm 62. We have 4 children and have been married for 43 years. The trouble is he absolutely does not believe in God so his marriage vows are meaningless to him. He says he doesn't have any passion for me only affection. He's not sure what love is and he doesn't think he's ever been in love. He definitely doesn't do deep and meaningful stuff. He just says that he is a simple soul and that he's quite happy with how things are. He's not thick and knows that we can't make it work all the while this other woman (she's 10 years older than me) is in his life. He is by and large a good man and to a certain extent will do anything for me apart from marital stuff. We have been living apart for the last 2 years and he now says he loves his place and he doesn't want to give it up but he doesn't want me to move in with him either! At the moment his mistress and him are just meeting for coffees once a week. This was her idea as she's been hurt by him in the past so she said she wanted to take things slowly. I've told him that this can't continue, either we make a fresh start or if he wants to be with her then I'm at that stage were I won't stand in his way. After his meeting with her I went to his place to see what we needed to do and he floored my by saying that he wanted us to try again (4th time of trying). So why do I feel disappointed? Is this just a repeat of the previous times? I'm actually getting very tired of putting such a lot of effort into my marriage only to have him go back to her! I am seriously at that stage were I have no idea what to do!

@ airplane800, sometimes I wonder if when we do TELL people the truth, are they truly listening to the wisdom spoken? I am guilty of that error before I REALLY submitted MY will to HIM. People would share wisdom and I would dismiss it because I felt they did not really know. What was being said wasn't what I wanted to hear. I was immature and felt I would SHOW them, I was right they were wrong!

Please ask this question to your significant other: "What do you really need". Everything he said here is nice but not everyone's top need. I, for one, need to feel that you are fair. I respect fairness. If I deem you unfair, I will not follow you, respect you, or put my eggs in the same basket as you. If per him, "security" includes fairness, then that is fine. Again, I am putting out there that straight personal questions and straight talks is what YOUR relationship needs, not the generic advices.

I've been observing youth groups, college groups, and single's groups in churches for many years, There is no difference with non Christian groups. It is all about the popular, the handsome and the rich. The values inside churches are the same values preached by Hollywood. Many people in churches marry incompatible people and than they need lots of lecture and sermons to try to fix something that was done wrong from the beginning. Jimmy are not honest to tell people that they married for the wrong reasons with incompatible people.

This is why religion is dying. Women are not a stereotype and neither are men. Women like me are far more cerebral, less emotional and not very reactionary at all. I am my own leader-personal responsibility. I married a man who is also his own leader-personally responsible. This is why we can come together to solve problems and we treat eachother as equal people, though I acknowledge where he is wiser or more skilled than me at certain things. It’s two whole complete people coming together. Codependent relationships are not relationships. Religion brainwashed humanity to limit itself and assign predetermined roles based on sex alone and not based on skill, wisdom or any real qualifications I am a woman who embraces human advancement rather than old barbaric concepts. Religion seeks to hold us back and it does this not just to women but to men as well. We need true progress, not the phony progress the political left speaks of or that the millennial sjw screams at the sky about.
@mchristr
@mchristr 4 жыл бұрын
If there are no objective, transcendent standards, how can we possibly measure progress or wisdom? The best we can do is put our fingers in the air to see which way the cultural winds are blowing or default to our emotions. Furthermore, if our worth is grounded on skills or qualifications, where does that leave us if we lose those things?

How can a woman submit to a man as unto Christ if marriage is an equal partnership? Yes we are both heirs of Gods grace but the man is the head and the ruler. Is the Church equal to Christ? No! How can a woman submit to a man as unto the Lord if she is an equal partner? She will never learn to submit.

I was fine with this teaching ... all up until 17:00 This is why Christian marriages suffer. Pastors have sold out to the feminism that has crept into the church (and most don't even realize it). Jimmy used the relationship between Christ and the church (his bride) correctly to say he loves her insomuch that sacrifices himself for her. But come his last point, he can no longer use that illustration to say wives are to be treated as equals. Just as Christ is superior to the church, so is the husband superior to the wife. This is why scripture says that wives are to obey their husbands in ALL THINGS (Eph. 5:22-24). Peter emphasizes this order when he points out how Sarah called Abraham 'my lord' (1 Peter 3:6). Jimmy seemed to be careful to avoid this painful truth in our gynocentric society to keep those sales rolling in. And btw, the wife helps the husband work- not the husband helps the wife work pff!

Are you a Christian? If you are, and this is your 1st response to what wives need in marriage~ I’m really not surprised if your relationship is a big 0. You can deal with egalitarianism another time, the fact you can’t focus in on what might help heal your wife in the marriage, shows your character and lack of integrity. Sensitivity. Work on it🙄😱
