yeah, you're right! I'm starting to realise that a lot as I get older. But you can symphatise, in that it takes time for a lot of men to appear confident as they often need a valid basis for this confidence ( university, independence, etc.), so you can understand these men often struggle and have to sometimes endure painful/awkward social situations during adolescence which potentially could scar you for life in some cases.

I found this sketch funny. I felt the need to say that as a contrast to all the bizarre ranting comments about gender politics. I... I just thought it was funny, okay? I liked the twist on the classic Cyrano story and the poking fun at "treat 'em mean" cliches. I enjoyed myself. Is... is that enough?

BAHA! Cyrano de Bergerac! Good golly I love these guys. I love you, Mitchell and Webb. I love the idea that one-night-stand is kinda icky and taking advantage of a woman with self-esteem issues is crap and that if someone's okay with being called nasty things n' such you might not like them very much anyway. With this and the women-sort-yourself-out commercials, I love how kind of fantastically feminist these guys are. *squeezes*

"Nice guys finish last". No. Average looking guys don't do as well as the lookers. And it's EXACTLY the same for women. Much is made of the fact that serial killers Ted Bundy and Richard Ramirez had 'groupies' at their trials. Bundy looked like a conventionally handsome day time soap star and Ramirez looked like a heavy metal rock star. Statistically, pretty people (both men and women) do better in terms of verdicts at jury trials. Ask any lawyer. Pretty people can literally get away with murder. However, Dennis 'BTK' Rader, of whom the kindest thing one could say would be that he has a more 'homely' appearance - didn't get the trial groupies. My point being that women are as shallow as men in terms of favouring looks over character. This does not make them inherently masochistic. I'm sorry if your girlfriend dumped you, but women get dumped too.
@tobyseraph943511 жыл бұрын
Well that's partially true. You must also remember that serial killers usually are psychopaths and therefore extremely skilled at charming people. And women do go more on character than on looks. Sure they like a ripped guy but if he's boring he is not much to have. Often women want qualities that are exciting. That is why it is said that wisdom ages better than pussy. Women don't usually develop these qualities because they don't have to and when their looks go so does her mating value. So yes women are shallow but not as shallow as men.
@tobyseraph943511 жыл бұрын
aerialkate Ok, spewing buzzwords like misogynistic against everything you don't like doesn't work except on people who are letting shit like that get to them. Also, just because you are a woman doesn't automatically mean that you know everything about women. A psychologist for example who specializes in feminine psychology probably knows more about women than you do even if he's a man. Also we are discussing on youtube so just relax. Our "debate" here doesn't really mean anything.

the people who really try and do the right thing and treat women with respect because they think women should be respected are usually people who are self-confident enough not to be bothered by random strangers labeling them losers. It's the people who treat women with respect solely because they want to get laid who get really frustrated. Look at the skit, man. After learning about the girl he doesn't want to know her anymore. That's not true.While the movement itself does largely focus on women(as well as children, as someone pointed out), it doesn't mean that you can't be a feminist AND an egalitarian,these concepts have largely the same meaning. And solving female issues is obviously going to affect men as well, e.g. women earning more means that men don't have to be the breadwinners etc.
