All these people spreading hate and criticizing...jazz fusion is improvisational music, so there isn't a rule book that says, "You must play covers this way." Come on, people, these guys played their hearts out and did pretty freaking good at it too! If they feel satisfied with their performance, and are constantly striving to get better, then I think encouragement will go a lot further than criticism. If they literally played everything incorrectly from the original then I would understand, but these guys did a heck of a job covering a very difficult piece of music...let's give them some love, not hate! That being said, I loved the cover, guys! Keep up the good work!

Why is there so much bitching in these comments? Does anyone know how hard it is to cover a snarky puppy song is? No onewill have a snarky puppy groove. These guys have their synergy and Snarky has theirs. If you wanted to hear some shit that sounded like the original then listen to the original. These guys had fun and while there were a few things that could have grooved better for my taste it is small nitpicks that are subjective. People keep saying "They should have done this and that" as if this isn't a JAZZ COVER... You guys are trying to hear Snarky Puppy sound where there is no Snarky Puppy. Smh everyone's a professional critic. You guys had a unique twist on this and I can tell you guys spent time on getting this to sound exactly how you wanted. There aren't many full band covers to entire scores like this. Much respect!

Kudos to the drummer, several parts it got a little sloppy especially at around 7:30 but it's tough to keep time without hitting anything. If I can recommend one thing it would be get yourself a snom. It's an absolute staple in all of the SP drummer's (Larnell,Sput, and JT) arsenal.

Great stuff. Did your own thang too. Props. Just one of the great things about improvisational music is that no douchebag on the internet has an opinion that really matters. I just so happen to know what is good and that was wonderful. most people have no concept of over-meter composition like this. My guess is the haters are the same people who didn't understand why they couldn't dance to Take Five without falling over with an aneurism because their pocket metronomes were missing. This version wasn't perfect...and thank god too. If I wanted to hear it played perfectly I would have just listened to the studio version or watch the video of snarky Puppy playing it. Not much room for non professionals when playing a tune like this. If youre playing flat Well the musicatrolls will let you know. These wannabes have no self confidence maybe, or maybe just lacking in a particular Freudian area. . that many dudes that young it's almost impossible to get a take that solid. Great Job.

Great job guys! Excellent communication between the band's sections, especially drummer + pianist. Extremely nice song, brilliantly covered. Even the sound engineering part was supreme. My only criticism would be in the section around the 6:50 to 7:50 mark, where the original has a really steady "bang your head" groove and this performance has a more jerky rhythm. I can't tell if that's intentional. If I heard correctly it was even more intricate than the original, but - and that's only personal preference - I like how the song comes from all the complicated instrumental fills back to this fundamentally simple groove. But man! Overall great performance, I could only dream to become half as proficient a player as any one of your ensemble. Good work, keep it going!
