The goth boots are from a company called New Rock. I've had my 3/4 knee-high New Rocks for about 10 years now, and they definitely are built to last. As for the girl's boots, the covers she has we call spats here in the US.

The ventilation you like is good for a dry environment but for a hymid, wet environment they aren't as appropriate. This is due to waterproofing products wearing out quickly & them taking a long time to dry out. I personally go with boots more akin to the first pair you used due me having hyper mobile joints.
