Glad someone said something on this. Although he does have talent, no talent justifies the type of harm he caused to his victims.

Completely agree with the take as it applies to Wang. No amount of talent justifies meaningfully harming another person.

He said he would do better, if he does it again that will be the problem. I don’t think his apology was pathetic because he did apologize. His creativity is supposed to be the focus. I would have like to hear what Reggie thinks he should have done to move on better that you would have appreciated more.

I just gained a whole new level of respect for Reggie Casual. You keep things very chill & easy going. I often think about things that would get you outside of your normal behavior & speak out/stand up for something you feel is wrong. You just did the exact thing & you nailed it. 👍 Anyone talking trash on you being in Japan for fashion are just plain stupid, there’s more to learn about American vintage in Japan then the USA. All the best pieces from the US are in Japan.

Did NOT expect Reggie to have a take on this I'd agree with. But I agree so much, I think you could easily apply the same argument to American politics, in addition to the fashion and entertainment industries.

Reggie came with the heat this episode. Do wish stuff like this would just automatically play whenever people complain about cancel culture. It doesn't exist, give it some time and a lot of people would rather lack morals than be inconvenienced. Especially if it intersects with their participation in capitalism. Anyway, thank you for using your voice to keep up the good fight

@ferminrojas20012 жыл бұрын
you are relying on the universal true that: there are other people with talent outer. The fact is, there has and will always be someone with more talent than anyone. Regardless of Wang's personal issues. thanks to his comeback the public will (still) consume his work and not the "student's at a fashion school". thanks for addressing the fact of his bad behaviour but again that does not change anything (e.i., his talent)

Imma keep doing what i did before: Keep it moving, and don't give any energy to it. I'm an not saying that it's not a problem, but i am saying that if you don't support him, what he is, etc, then just starve him of your cash, time, closet space, and energy. more people will do so and his well and wealth will run dry.

You said it was predictable in the fashion industry. But it's an American thing. It's a local issue. Alexander Wang isn't a big thing here in Europe. Moreover we faced a few decades ago a antisemitic problem at Dior with John Galliano. He was at the historical peak of his career by literally turning Dior into a multibillions cash machine and was caught on tape saying disgusting things about Jewish people. He was immediately terminated and his career in the industry over.
@nonenone5413 Жыл бұрын
How is Alexander wang even relevant anymore? I've heard of Vera wang, she is quite popular! There is also Alexander McQueen... but Alex wang? He is a has been that i barely recall... did he ever even exist? Vera is very cool though.
@ytyoungrichnhigh2 жыл бұрын
Now I don't want this to interfere with the love I have for Alexander Wang's work. Separate the art from the artist. Now but if he really is guilty for everything he's said to be done; I hope he does and should really feel the consequences. But what BLOWS ME is the clear hypocrisy in the fashion industry. All these people (mostly women) coming to tear Wang down, meanwhiles they don't at all keep the same energy with these other designers and celebrities. Many different female celebrities have been slammed with allegations and past issues and they've been brushed off/ignored so quickly. But yet a male fashion designer goes through the same and the majority aren't keeping the same mindset. dietprada picks and chooses.
@THECASUALco2 жыл бұрын
Can you really separate the art from the artist in this age when artist themselves are putting their lives in full display of public view? That may have been an excuse years ago when designers weren’t such public figures but now? I’m not so sure. We make our choices on who to follow and the reasons why we follow. A universal “this is how it should be viewed” sets us back further and lessens the burden for individuals to explain why they still support individuals that have checkered past issues. For example if you had heard Alexander Wang did something egregiously racist would you still follow his work and support him? Hypothetical of course but the point is we all have our pressure points.

glad he's back to designing but i wonder how much he actually improved himself since his last statement... if he actually shows it then great. everyone is forgetting what "allegation" actually means which is pretty sad. when this shit gets blown up it just turns negative. not necessarily like people should forget about this at all, and it's unlikely they ever will lol i just hope it's not the same situation like with gosha where it was just false
@THECASUALco2 жыл бұрын
An allegation that he low-key admitted to. Since when has allegation meant anything to famous/powerful people? Allegations happen all the time the difference is they have the money to shut down “allegations”. Nobody forgot the meaning imo, they just recognize the reality that it doesn’t mean a damn thing if you have the ends to quiet the situation.
