Why do I find that this episode is one of the best I have watch ? She really have take me there with her ! And John giving all this space to Nicole, together with his simple short discrete questions, just the perfect one's to make the merry-go-round turn a little bit higher ! Thank You John ! ♥

For a terrestrial being, there’s no broader vantage than gazing down at the entire world. Taking it *all* in from the heavens seems to result in the same reverence - being one among the whole - an active participant in that great cooperative effort as a “crewman” on our generational arch-ship, Earth. Awesome episode today - many thanks, John and co.!

I wonder if the sense of depth that Mrs. Stott talked about while in space is due to being able to see more colors and more unfiltered brightness from the stars than we do on Earth?

STS wasn't as great as everyone thinks from a practical and economic standpoint, but it WORKED. I think we lost a huge opportunity by not helping Russia keep Buran alive, too. And Energia would have been a great addition to our collective heavy lift capabilities... 30 years ago. Now we're struggling to adapt the shuttle launch system into SLS, and other heavy lift options are still experimental. When's the last time Falcon Heavy flew?

That was interesting... especially the view from space giving you depth. The only time I get depth is when I have the moon, or the planets in the night sky while star gazing. Another time was the first and only time I took acid (bucketlist)... I stared at the sky for hours listening to music. It was a perfect night and the night sky was AMAZING, planets were out, it really made me feel like an ant on a tennis ball then.

@charlescook5542

Artificial gravity generated by rotating requires very massive sizes that we won’t be building soon I think. If you rotate a small object to generate it the object is spinning so fast there are hazards. After watching a robots in space presentation that cool worlds was a part of it looks like we’ll be sending lots of tech with minimal people to our first settlements.

I believe that enough capacity to evacuate the entire station is required to be docked at all times, so they don't need to wait for a ride, though maybe that capacity comes from Russian craft? Maybe they have a dragon sitting up there docked as well though. Seems like maybe in the run up to this terrible thing somebody thought about that, at least one hopes.
