The brooch is amazing! Keeping the pin does not happen often. That was a great day detecting with all the various finds. And a peek at Tasci added to it. I hope you are having a great spring, Ally. Ours is amazingly wet and cool. Only a couple of really hot days. Next week they are promising heat. Ick.

That dress hook you found is probably Tudor, it's a fab find and in my view should be added to your list of cracking finds for the day! That type of hook was only really used up to the 1600's, it's older than you probably think. I've found a couple (including a gold one) so I know a little bit about those.

Hello Alexander, Thanks for the many videos that you produce for us! I am often surprised my the many objects, particularly from Romans, that are found in various fields. Do you think that it was often the case, that the original owners simply lost the objects in that particular field or threw them away? Some (or a few) will indeed have been buried with the intention to return and collect them at some time in the future... Regards Mike
@HolzHammerSagas6 ай бұрын
Hi Mike and thanks for watching! I often wonder on the origins of these coin finds and can only think part of it is that you must rmember that the Roman s were here for the best part of 400 years so had plent of time to lose the odd thing that we find now...Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander

Hi. You have been using the Deus 2 now for a while now. I would love to know what you think the main differences are compared to the Deus 1.Ive been using the mk1 for about 8 years. Thankyou.
@HolzHammerSagas6 ай бұрын
I think the power is the obviuos difference but thats not necessarily a good thing in my opinion Geoff - I didnt like it when I ramped up the sensitivity and reactivity etc... I have it now as close to the deus 1 as i have managed and i lik e it that way - and it does punch a bit harder in pasture.
