you hand that thing over and someone is definitely going to pocket it. and he'll probably be wearing a funny little hat.

Wonderful Roman coins and flint, such diverse history, and even a touch of Georgian. Has anyone ever remarked on your resemblance to Michael Palin?

@ I did the same for Ellie, Miss_Detectorist and watched her entire back catalogue from when she started, every Video, every Live, every Short. It is deepest winter in Canada so no detecting for me. My enjoyment is watching and learning from others. Thanks 😊

What an incredible outing Alexander!! That ring is top notch sir. I agree that you may not get it back, I would be very interested in following that ring through the treasure process. Happy New year Alexander, all the best wishes to you and your son. Tasci too.

Great finds sir. I found a coin in a Norfolk craft market for £2 which I thought looked interesting, it turned out to be a 16th c. Jetton.

Excellent news Alex, you most certainly are the most fortunate of all treasure hunters and my favourite channel by far. Well deserved, and I hope you are rewarded regarding the ring, most exceptional. I'd love to see an update on your full collection at some stage, it would make a phenomenal video for 2025. Thank you for all the work that you produce here, and Happy Hunting.

Nice find, but not huge. A sovereign weighs 8 grams, I have a full sovereign ring and the mount weighs 8 grams without the sovereign. However, any medieval gold that's been beautifully worked is more than a bit special. I don't agree with your take on treasure though.If you found £20, 000 and nobody claimed it, you would get it all back and be able to acquire 8oz of gold, wouldn't that still be treasure? All gold is millions of years old and has been treasure for 5000 years.

Incredible find Alex. This is a very special find , and looks to be in fab condition. Perhaps speak to Kieran at Wartski? He is very knowledgable , and they are very keen to purchase early posy type rings.

I found an example of your first buckle at the RCM in September. Mine is just the buckle itself, without that extended raised chape button. Mine has silver laid in the decoration and I was told that style dates to around 1670. You had some great finds there.
@ashleyrickman92505 күн бұрын
Hi Alex - yes, definitely make a follow-up video on the treasure process, please. It would be really interesting! You may remember me from a year or two back. I'm an ex-pat living in Sydney, and I commented on a couple of George V florins you'd found, saying that they're pretty much unknown here. Well, last September I came over on an organised detecting week at Butley Priory, Suffolk Sandlands. Guess what? One of the things I found was a 1924 George V florin! Other, older stuff too, but I was particularly pleased with the florin. I'm booked to come back to Butley again this September - with my grown-up son (also a keen detectorist). The detecting itself takes place in the last week of September, but we've got free time either side. Is that your neck of the woods? It would be great to meet up if it is and we can find a date. Regards, Ashley
