Dude! You're right! It's a virus and I don't want to be cured! I've known of them since 2019 - I can honestly say they saved my life with Loreley - and I completely mean that. They are one band who I will love for my entire life

@PrymalChaos thanks for sharing this. You asked yourself who produces their songs. They do it by themselves in their own studio area, together with some studio/live crew members. Singer Chris Harms is also working as a composer, producer and audio engineer for lots of other singers and bands, lots of his bandmate from LOTL he found at the SAE institute Hamburg, where he was a freelancing teacher several years. So the keyboarder Gared Dirge, also a former student of Harms, owns pitch perfect, Harms has synaesthesia - he sees some kind of colour corona when hearing different tones. He says, he can suppress it when he is tired but otherwise allow it. So some sounds will never be part of LOTL songs, because Harms dislikes the colour which is connected with the tone. 😂 It's quite interesting to learn more about the band's background. All the best to you!

Really interesting to see a reaction from someone who obviously knows what he is talking about. Would be great to see you react to some more Lord of the Lost. They have so many amazing songs. I reckon you'll enjoy songs like Raining Stars, Loreley, Pries and Matt Bellamy (just for fun).

I found you because I was looking for Electric Callboy reactions to cheer me up, but then I saw you reacted to what might be my top favourite band! I haven't seen many people reacting to LOTL, and especially not people who know what they're talking about. Your explanation of why that 5/4 section feels the way it does blew my mind, thank you for doing this one!

LOTL are amazing live. They care about their audience and are so committed to doing the best show they can, every time. There energy is intoxicating. I can highly recommend going to one of their gigs if you get the opportunity.

You are now my best friend! LOLT are my favourite band and will be for my entire life - they are the only band I can confidently say that about. I found their music in 2019 (when Loreley popped up on my screen) in a really bad time of my life; they saved my life, and I’m not exaggerating there. I have a pendant with they band logo on it, and I wear it so that when life is hard, I can hold it and feel the strength from their music. The lyrics of this song are incredible: “Here in ruins life still grows Here in ruins, a blooming rose Here in ruins love remains We will rise again” Love the way you go over the song too…it gives it another level for me and is one up on most other people who respond to music. A few songs you might like from them is “A Splintered Mind" and “Lighthouse” - both very different to Ruins - very orchestral, and both brought me to tears (in a good way) - in not feeling so alone. Shows how talented they are in a variety of music types. Other bands you might enjoy are Wardruna - Lyfjaberg (Healing-mountain) (powerful) And Mono Inc - The Book of Fire (Martin’s voice is quite unique, and Katya's voice is angelic - especially in another song of theirs Louder than Hell!) I’m going to go away now - but I am definitely a subscriber to your channel!!

What a beautiful reaction ❤ Love it when people really know what they're talking about 👍🏻 Thanks for your amazing reaction, as you said, their music is very versatile and I honestly have to say, that Chris could read me a phone book or a manual for sth. and I would enjoy it 😂 Love his voice ❤ The piano is Gared, he plays multiple instruments and is soooo talented 👀 Gave you a follow after such a great video and analysis and hope you're diving down that rabbithole some more 👍🏻 Greetz from Germany 🇩🇪

Great analysis on the rhythm, especially for this song, as it has a variety of vocals (executed by Chris Harms) combined with a mixture of harshness and softness. Lord of the Lost is a very versatile band and their songs have a variety and they are often called a mixture of music genres. And also, especially when it comes to what was said in the beginning, if you like cinematic kind of video clips they are your guys. Their video clips are supreme in aesthetics and make up (Lorelay and Raining stars are good examples) and they often have a story to narrate. Best examples must be the entire new album, Judas, Raining stars and the amazing combo of Till death us do part, where the video clip story got a sequel after 3 years in My constellation. (My constellation I recommend though to see the live first, as its performance is breathtaking and also in the official video clip, the plot is drawing all the attention and you might miss the song). Brilliant artists overall.

Seconding Poets of the Fall if you haven’t already. LOTL and Poets are two of my favorite bands that I’ll probably never get to see unfortunately because they don’t get over here, but are amazing live.

I am not as technical about music as you are, but it was very interesting to hear your breakdown of - timing I guess? The 1-2-3 versus 1-2-3-4-5. I don't think about the technical side of things as a non-musician listener. This is one of my favorite LOTL songs and it was just really cool to hear insight into it like that. I followed what you were saying even though it isn't something I know about so I feel very educated LOL. Thank you.
@PrymalChaos2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kristy! What a wonderful compliment! Thanks for watching. The whole thing with using counts outside of 3 (a waltz type thing - imagine ball room dancing to a count of “one two three one two three.. “) or 4 (the most common rhythm in western music - think almost any pop song or dance track) is that it tends to create really interesting musical rhythms. When you write music to a five count, the listener expects the music to naturally resolve back to one after the 4th beat. But your fifth beat throws that out the window and creates tension! And that’s just 5! Many bands (tool is a great example) explore 7, 9 even 13 etc. it’s all about confusing your ear to create tension and release. It’s very cool! It’s also really tricky for musicians the get used to at first because we are all socially programmed to count in 4s. 😄 I’m excited to have discovered Lord of the Lost. They have a great sound!

That was really interesting, thanks! I'm not terribly knowledgeable about music even though I love it, so it's great hearing someone break down the songs. I always like to know how the way something sounds triggers emotions and reactions, which I might have felt but not understood how it works.

Music is fascinating! It can really manipulate your mood. A great song can become a part of you and it can capture memories or feelings in time. Like if you first heard a song at a great moment in your life it stays with you, every time you hear that song, forever!

Dark rock meets goth meets glam metal meets synths including a perfect mixture of clean and harsh vocals down to growls. They recently supported Iron Maiden across Europe. They lately released an album and bunch of videos from this album. One is „The Gospel of Judas“. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4amk4Rnp7CCi8k One of my favorite songs is „Under the sun“: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWrXaYmfiKalbZI Also some cool recent videos from their current album „Judas“: „For they know not what they do“: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lamQaWqumcRsZ9k „Priest“: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn2WoXZjlNVneM0 I just love this band and the boys themselves. They are so cool, crazy, kind and friendly. I did shoot them several times as concert photographer including backstage documentaries. Some suggestions out of so many great songs: "Raining Stars": Beautiful synth driven „Full Metal Whore“: Heavy, Heavier, … „A Splintered Mind“: Acoustic version incl. classic instrumentation „Loreley“: Their most popular song "Ruins": Heavy
