I love LotL I don't think they get the attention they deserve sometimes. This is not the song I would have picked for your intro, but it's all good. Chris is a mostly self taught singer. He was a cellist & sound engineer by training the singing thing was just kind of a happy accident. The "keyboard" player Gerrit (Gared Dirge stage name) is indeed a multi instrumentalist my favorite is his keytar.

Each album of theirs has a little different sound. They started as more gothic metal, but they're a bit of all kinds of things. This was their first "live" performance for their album Judas. Chris also has been playing cello since he was 5, and has had no training as a singer.

Thanks for the great musical insights in your reactions, watched a couple now and really enjoyed them , so you got yourself a new subscriber! Just keep on going and since Sabaton and Nightwish are already on your list, which I will probably enjoy every time, same as the already suggested other songs from Bloodywood, 'Gaddaar' and 'Ari Ari' or Eskimo Callboy, on another comment down here, I will make some new ones. So I'm going to offer a couple new suggestions, at least I havn't found them yet in your comments. They are great, interessting and often unknown: **Ayreon** The dutch composer Arjen Lucassen takes great care in putting together a story in a kind of rock musical and for every album in the Ayreon Universe he handpicks great artists to come together in those projects. 'The day the world breaks down' is the first song on the album 'The Source' and features all 11 vocalists, you probably recognize most, if not all kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXfYfn6ap9-Dp7c Vocalists: (to maybe interest you even faster - or maybe not)😆 Counselor - Simone Simons (Epica) Astronomer - Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) Biologist - Floor Jansen (Nightwish) Opposition Leader - Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) Chemist - Tommy Rogers (Between the Buried and Me) Prophet - Nils K. Rue (Pagans's Mind) Diplomat - Michael Eriksen (Circus Maximus) Historian - James LaBrie (Dream Theater) Captain - Tobias Sammet (Avantasia) TH-1 - Mike Mills (Toehider) President - Russell Allen (Symphony X) Preacher - Zaher Zorgati (Myrath) Two more songs from the same album and an older one: Everybody Dies (live) kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3KkiaeLmbJqrqc Valley of the queens (live) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipPIk4Jrd7-cY6s **Blind Guardian** They have to offer a great history of powermetal albums, but a live this live video in Wacken shows of their versatility and that triangle of energy between leadsinger, bandmembers and the audience you mentioned in one of the nightwish reactions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n16slIuVl8iWfMU **Lorna Shore** Something a bit more heavy, but if you want harmony, Will Ramos even makes this happen with screaming vocals, he ist just a beast with a well trained voice, which he uses as a very versatile instrument. You can also tell in the One-Takes he put out on his own channel. So either the originals 'To the hellfire', 'of the Abyss', 'And I Return to Nothingness' or the One Take Vocal Playthrough by Will Ramos. Probably should start with the originals to also pay enough attention to the instrumental part of the band, since Will Ramos is just their newest member.😅 With Lord of the Lost you probably can't go wrong with any song for an reaction either, for your free time I just want to recommend two videos which just show the person behind the artist and how many thougths go into their music and videos: An analysis of Kardavox Academy together with Chris Harms of their song "For They Know Not What They Do" kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJTdhYGGZdmsoc0 Chris talks a lot about his self taught singing/screaming and the thoughts and construction of the video and the song Also very cute is the reaction by Chris Harms parents, which shows their respect for the art. It is in German but someone but a translation in the comments: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGLblqaMZa-mgac Take care and keep doing, what you do! Greetings from Germany! Tanja

I worried The Army overwhelmed you...glad to see you again! We'd love it if you did one Nightwish per week... it will never disappoint! This song wasn't bad...I heard almost all of the influences you called out...but it didn't blow me away. The vocal was OK for singing in a second language, and my closet goth liked it, but maybe I'd like a studio version more? If you're interested in German metal...can't go wrong with any live Rammstein performance. Ok wait...while we're in Germany... you absolutely *must* check out a new band that is taking over the internet w their hysterical retro videos and really great songs! I'm not gonna give you a genre...what would you call them? Check out Eskimo Callboy (they sing in english) song, Pump It. It's so.good and so funny...its an everyday play for me! You will smile! Also check out We Got The Moves and Hypa Hypa. Absolutely brilliant! I do not know anything about social.media...so I hope you see comments also!

I second eskimo callboy. Their songs just make you happy, with a combination of different music styles, that you wouldn't think can work. Great musicians that don't take themselves too serious, but with the more serious songs like *hate/love* you can tell even more. Also the accoustic version of pump it or the 7 different Hypa Hypa Versions show their great talent and feeling for music. I also love their 'Making of ...' videos, just shows you even more of their funny personalities and how much they are selfmade, since video production is done by a band member and his brother, the Schillo brothers.

@@marktplatzkuche2858 Have you seen their 50min live set w Nico? Sorry I don't have a link, but if you search Eskimo Callboy Wacken Yeager (the person who put this up is Eren Yeager) It is live, but no audience cuz of covid...you will get a treat! Song after song...its fantastic! Hope you check it out!

Lord of tho lost will participate in this years final of the Eurovision Song Contest. It would be great If you could react to their entry "Blood and glitter" In contrary to previous years people can also vote for their favorit even If their country doesn't participate at Eurovision. The motto of this year's ESC is "united by music"🎉

It was nightwish that brought me to your channel. I confess that it was a pleasant surprise to find this reaction to Lord of the Lost, a band I've been listening to quite a bit in the last 4 to 5 years! Thanks. I leave a suggestion for an upcoming band: Pain of Salvation.

Hello Eric, if you would like to listen to the great band that is not going to be on radio due the fact that their songs are long, then check out Wintersun, people usually star with Sons of winter and sun, but I really love Time so that is the one I recommend. Jari, the singer composes the songs and takes his time making them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoawqH-ue7N-iZI

Never heard this band before either. Most of the bands you compared them to, I have heard of but never listened to (except the popular stuff from Stabbing Westward). The vocalist sounds similar to Rammstein to me. And the music ,to me, sounds like a more melodic Disturbed crossed with symphonic sounds of Epica or Within Temptation. I could be way off, but that's what I'm getting on first listen.

I actually love LotL: it isnt Nightwish, but its great music. They were actually planned to open for Nightwish but with Covid it might change. My favorites are Loreley, For They Know What They Do and Drag me to Hell. Looking forward to seeing you tackle the other wonderful bands as well, like Sabaton you mentioned. I love Sabaton's live performances of Woodstock Poland (now Pol'and'Rock Festival) and perhaps a nice mention is they have a History Channel since they sing about real world events. Uprising is about the Warsaw Uprising in August '44.

Something more to your "must hear/react" catalogue.....;-) What about Metal from places, you don´t believe the can do metal. 1. India. In the last three years Bloodywood popped into the scene. It started as a project of two guys from New Dehli to make metallish covers of Bollywood songs for a youtube channel. After a few pieces they added a rapper and make a energizing fusion with indian folk instruments. With this sound they were invited to Wacken 2019 (a full band doesn´t exist at this moment) and filled one of the side stages with 15.000 enthusiastic people. In the next months they will publish thier first CD. Go to thier Channel "Bloodywood" and check thier last track "Gaddaar" 2.Indonesia: Also a relatively new Band: Voice of Baceprot. 3 muslim self taught girls make fantastic hard Music. Singing from thier own experince in "God allow me (please) to play music" 3. Japan: for me, modern japaneese metal adds the slight edge of "new" and "fresh", I don´t find it in the established and quite conservative western metal communities. But I think you have enough suggestions for japaneese Band. My personal favorites are "Band-Maid" and "Maximum the Hormone" (if you ever react to this Band, inspect the word "Horumonyaki" at Wikipedia before)

In my view, what connects LOTL and Nightwish is the extreme talent and musicianship of the band members. They all are classically trained multi-instrumentalists, for example Chris Harms is a sound engineer and cello teacher. They even can play salsa, jazz, pop etc., f.ex. see their live versions of Paparazzi, Frozen, La Bomba (see Gared Dirge's piano tutorial at kzbin.info/www/bejne/goSpo4ubec19jMk) etc. But after seeing your reaction to Sancta Terra, you might like to check out this whole concert recording of LOTL with an orchestra: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYK8d4WejtWHr9k It was 2013 at the first "Gothic meets Klassik" Festival in Leipzig, Germany, since then with national and international artists from goth rock, metal, dark wave, medieval rock etc. performing a normal set in one venue on one evening and a classic set with orchestra in the concert hall at the next evening. Leipzig, the city of Bach and Wagner, is sometimes called the "world capital of gothic" because of the annual convention at pentecost with 100K visitors from all over the world (Wave Gotik Treffen / WGT); and the venue for the classic concert is the Gewandhaus, a well-known concert hall for classic music already during GDR times. But, beware of the song "See you soon" (minute 10:30-15:30), it might trigger you! Other nice live recordings at the M'era Luna festival in Hildesheim, Germany: - Acoustic with ensemble: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3W1daGMeLWUr5o - Metal set: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXrJh2CGgJh7sKM

I would have to see the lyrics, many groups or songs have great music, but have messages I couldn't support. One of my other channels has a singer who is documenting his journey to help other artists. He does interviews with successful singers, but also music industry insiders. Would you be okay if I gave him your name as a possible interview?
