Riley and Harris were the hero’s of the night with that awesome defensive double play. Harrris to go to the walk and up as high as he did ringtone thr. All was awesome by itself but to get the ball back to the infield quick enough to get the runner was icing on the cake thanks to Riley’s quick thinking to leave his third base position and run towards second to back up the throw which ended up coming towards Riley charging. Sometimes it’s just fate to be in the right spot at the right time but that was a combination of fate and wit in Riley’s part plus the two run homer he’s the player of the game. You got to love this Braves team , so young and talented for years to come.

nah I disagree, it is his fault, he should've been at least halfway between 1st & 2nd & not at 2nd & not had been over confident & so sure that the ball was gonna split the gap, that's why you have to at least stay halfway between bases if you see a long fly ball & it carries like that if you're not sure if an outfielder is gonna catch it or split the gap, so that way you won't be doubled up, that's the thing about long fly balls that carries like that, 7/10 an outfielder is gonna catch it

Riley MVP this game. Frenchy even said the ball went by 2 players, not sure why Ozzie could not catch that ball, poor defense on his part. Riley bailed him out though, but still, come on Ozzie....

Still a good game. Both teams came to play but the Braves needed to bounce back. So good luck to both teams going forward in this series and we will just see what happens.

Or if MLB Boss Manfred should have done when the playoff field was expanded starting last year in ‘22 was Re-seed after each round. In this round should been D’Backs vs Braves and Dodgers vs Phillies. Thus the Braves and Philly met in the LCS if reseeded occurred. Or in my opinion, reduce the regular season to 154 games and expand all playoff series from the Divisional, LCS and Fall Classic to best of 7.

@@josh-rz3uq Ok stop. 👎While I am fully aware that the players association and owners/teams have the final say in the CBA contracts, a stronger more forward thinking “Commissioner” other than Manfred would have pushed for Re seeding after each playoff round. That is my point.

Why on earth would you re seed in the middle of playoffs. And why should this series be 7 games. The Phillies were a wild card team the entire year and never close to the division. Feelings shouldn’t alter facts.

@@jygb7092 The NFL reseeds after every round from the 1st round aka Wild Card to the Conference Finals. Why can’t MLB do the same thing all the way to the LCS?

As a life long Phillies fan that game was heart breaking. Too many LOBs and two hanging pitches that hurt us. That play was incredible - both the catch and the awareness to back up and then laser the throw. Well done Atlanta. I love Bryce Harpers aggressiveness on the bases and will not fault him here. He wanted to score from first on a double and was in position to do it. That possibly would have swung momentum back to us. Two outs with Harper on first and momentum in Atlanta’s favor. We wouldn’t have scored anyway.

I can't fault him for trying to score on that but he should have at least paused at 2nd. 2 out of 3 chances were against him. HR it doesn't matter, if it's caught he gets picked off, if it drops he scores

One thing that is being overlooked is albies awareness to let the ball get past him. He could have fielded but would have not had a play on Harper. He let the ball go and trusted Riley to throw a strike to Olson. As an objective fan, Philly had Atlanta by the balls and just let go. Atlanta gift wrapped this series for the Phillies and Phillies returned it to sender. As for momentum, Phillies gave a ton of confidence to the Atlanta hitters. Instead of being down 2-0 and no margin for error. The hitters can relax and settle in. If Philly loses game 3, it’s all but over. You have to win vs strider in a pretty much bullpen game.

As I Braves fan, I couldn't agree more. To use your analogy, the Phillies were practically unwrapping the gift and than stop and said, "you know what, I'm good. never mind." Both teams still have a 13.5% chance of winning the series. D-backs and Rangers have a 86.5% of winning their series.

Riley with the heads up play! Harris started the play, but without Riley’s heads up play Harper would’ve made it back to first base and the Phillies would still have an another at bat. Riley’s play slammed the door on that! Go Braves!😊
