I love these videos! Please keep doing them! Just stick with the format where you show apartment 1 and then move on. That way it’s easy to see exactly what they’re getting for the money and what it’s actually like to live there. The format where you all jump around to different apartments the whole time sucks.

I used to live in a studio apartment. I put my bed in the corner, and a 6 drawer dresser at the foot of the bed facing out to the living area. I put my TV on it, so I could turn it around and watch TV in bed on the weekends! And it made my bed more private. I loved living there!

I’ve got a townhome like Gustavos with very similar layout . 2 story , 2 bedroom , 1 1/2 bath , 2 car garage , but we’ve got our own back yard big enough to put a pool for my 2 kids and plant a vegetable garden plus I’ve got a full laundry room . Other tenants pay $800 but my hubby mows the small yard in the front of the building so we pay $650 . It’s a very nice complex that is nicely maintained. It’s not a hip city but living in the middle of Cow Town USA 🐄 has its benefits.

In the areas that I have lived and worked in it is impossible to afford to live by yourself on a single salary. Again, my personal experience. Also, no one mentioned North Carolina, so that's an incredibly random thing to add to your post.

The stove in the studio is an old, but typically common gas stove. Very common in the UK, so not sure what the British girl found so odd .

The bathrooms are actually rather tiny yes. Living in London is a nightmare, the renting is ridiculously expensive compared to the wages you get so you are forced to rent with other people and will be unlikely to own your own property unless you have a terrific job such as being a doctor.

It's a pretty good representation of the sweep of LA. It's such a sprawl-y city. BTW: You can find better rents if you come to LA. But you need to be resourceful.

Normal in expensive cities but where I live it’s more rural and more affordable that it’s rare for couples to live with roommates especially if they both work . We’ve got a 2 bedroom 2 bath townhome with 2 car garage , laundry room , small private backyard very well maintained and in a very nice area for $800 a month.

1985 lived in Ventura, 2 bedroom apt for $450 @ month! Side of hill below The Cross with ocean view. Area destroyed in mudslide after I moved back home. The $450 was 3 times more than what I was paying for mortgage in Iowa before moving. BIG MISTAKE!

It's the average rent in LA. I live near LAX in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment and pay $1960 a month. You can't live in Los Angeles without a roommate.

Plus its an old building on the Inglewood border (right across from the 99 cent store). My last apartment was the same price for a studio but it was in the apartment complex across from Otis.

Whatever works. I'm embarrassed to say my housing expenses in the San Fernando Valley. But basically I moved into my current house in the late 1990's, and the mortgage is paid off, so things are cheap.

Damn. For what one of these apartments costs (I'm not saying which one, but it's not the very top one), we have a mortgage on a 5 bedroom/2 bath, 2,000+ sq. ft. HOUSE in Georgia. Oh, I forgot to mention it's also 8.25 acres of land. We have out buildings, too. A shed for tools/lawnmowers, a garage (for my hubby's classic car project), and a shop up the road that's just a big building. The people we bought it from had operated a garage out of it.

Why don't you convert the flat sizes to square meters? You've got viewers all over the world and nearly no other country uses square feet and it's honestly not much of an effort to convert it while producing a video. At the same time it's quite annoying to pause the video and to convert it while watching the video to have an idea of how large the flats are.

Literally double the rent prices in my area. You can get a 1000 sqft apartment for about $1200 a month. It's not even like I live in a bad place. I live in historic Virginia on the coast.

I loved the townhouse in Encino. I grew up in the S.F. Valley and spent my last 9 years in a condo in Simi Valley. I have now lived the last 25 years in the North SAN Francisco Bay area. I pay a total 1400 per month. I also pay almost 4, 000 per year for property taxes on my 2bd 1ba condo that is 1020 square feet. The property taxes are ridiculous.

As a toddler, i and my family used to live in Palos Verdes, which at the time was a working man's neighborhood. I understand it is now a gated, very exclusive area, tho. The rental cost is unbelievable in LA, currently! No way!

I have seen the concept of having a microwave above the stove before in the US, but I don’t understand it. Don’t you get grease from cooking on the microwave’s bottom? Here in Europe we have the a cooker hood most of the time, sometimes nothing, but I have never seen a microwave

The microwave has a vent on it. You do get splatter, but you can wipe off. Some homes have a back splash behind the stove.

It has a vent and light just like a hood does, you can clean it the same as well. It really helps because it doesn't take up counter space.

the neighborhood choices lmao. we got. hermosa beach. dtla but we got a view of his fire escape overlooking a cute part of Broadway near pershing square, not like, san pedro if you know what i mean lmao. thai town with a white woman. and they used Encino, god, ENCINO, i can not think a place less interesting than Encino. la is interesting because people live many different lifestyles here. Show someone living in a by-the-week hotel room in skid row then show someone living in luxury in an apartment off abbot kinney. show someone living in a backhouse in van nuys with the hot sun and strip malls as far as the eye. show the contrasts! i just feel like this misrepresents renters in LA. i know not everything has to be serious lmao. but there is beauty in the way we live, the way we adapt to our ill-suited spaces. renters in la are going through a lot right now, so I wish this video had taken the chance to show more complexities of their experiences.
