@@Japhex when apex first was released on steam i did an oopsie and didnt migrate my OG origin account... leading to me starting over and losing 180 levels. It hurt but it wasnt all that bad, there was lots of fun to be had when they introduced the "unlock challenges" for Revenant. I couldn't ever imagine having to unlock everything through time-locked challenges though, I wish they roll this back

Didn't even realise how long it takes to get the legends as I have had them all for a while now. Apex really needs to make one quality of life update. Fixing balance, improving free to play experience, maybe make getting skins easier and other things. I would far more happily take that than a new season with a legend or a map. You did this challenge at a special time when you could get the battle pass for free. That has not been possible in other seasons. Even with that it still took you a while to get things going. Pls apex listen to the community, I don't want to see this game die

What I'm trying to say is legend availability wasn't the biggest issue for me because I decided to main Bangalore, so that was a massive W for me. I can win a couple matches a day if i lock in, but its more fun to watch people after you die. My homeboy unlocked everybody when the newest character was crypto all for free, i thought he was crazy playing long enough to unlock 1 champ.

It’s like a 0.7% chance for heirloom shards to drop out of a normal apex pack, you’re guaranteed an heirloom after 500 packs opened, just gotta be patient

Free to play gamer here! I started playing apex in season 8. Owned a few battle passes (because if you get 110 free battlepass level 3-4 times you get enough apex coins to buy it yourself for free) and my account is pretty stacked. I'm on 630 lvl I think, recently got my first heirloom from my +/- 500 pack (used the apex pack calculator) I own every legend, have a lot of legendary skins and a few prestige ones as well (got every prestige from bp and got prestige havoc skin from free pack on the event with the galaxy things idk) I own a few recolors. Have 10k blue shards and 2300 apex coins I think? So tbh it is, or at least was possible to have stacked acc without any purchase, especially when events were more player friendly and not "hehe buy recolor for 2400 apex coins". I remember the free cosmetics in every event and every eveng was guaranteed 2 thematic free packs, skins which you were able to buy in the normal store for 2400 shards even tho event was over, and you were able to drop it from normal pack. Surely now it's a lot harder to achieve something like this, cuz EA is just milking money from players, sad, because it's such a big corp and the only thing they care about now is money. I didn’t realize that new players don’t have access to half the legends is older players had access to when we started…I honestly don’t think that was a good idea cuz a lot of the starter legends have been so fazed out and aren’t really TOO good(unless the player heavy mains said starter legend) in todays meta which means that a lot of times these starter legends picks come(or rather CAME) from new players and now that’s not the case…ALSO at the beginning he said everytime he tried to equip cosmetics on locked characters it kept telling him to buy it, that’s because you CANT equip cosmetics on locked characters UNLESS you do it as soon as you unlock the cosmetic….you have to equip it FROM the apex pack screen if you don’t do it from there then you have to buy the legend before you can equip any cosmetics you like on them….

The worse thing is some of the challenges for the battle pass are actually hard for newer players who don’t know the game or aren’t as good as other thus struggle to do them. The dmg ones could be hard if you as a newer player keep running into a pred player or the place top x challenges if the lobbies are random rather then actually skill based

I'm a season 0 casual player. I hate the game now. the game is just so hard for no reason. I'm stuck with good players, preds, masters and cheaters in pubs. I never play ranked anymore. and the game is soul crushing. it's an anxiety engine that never stops. I used to love the gameplay and weapons and mechanics but now, it just feels like hard work. I think I'm going to look for another game that I can play casually without the sweating anxiety of trying to survive.

The thing that’s not accurate about this as a semi f2p is that the battle pass was handed out for free this season, while most seasons this isn’t prevalent, and if there are challenges to unlock something for free it’s usually super time consuming challenges or hard to get them done to unlock extra things aswell.

I used to watch u and zylbrad for pack openings. OG pathfinder, lifeline, and octane, are the best I played the game till they introduced revanant. I can honestly say the game been trash since then. Got to ranked masters. My teammates were so bad whenever I solo que. But didn’t care after. Og apex is the best.

I used to play mobile before it shut down, where it was super easy to get all of the legends fast. Then I switched to pc a few months ago. The only thing I’m sad about as a free to play player is how long it took me to unlock all of my favorite legends

Played since s20 and just recently got all the legends took me 700+hrs to learn and unlock all the legends and that was with the help of events that gave free, legends at least with the battle pass change I got free battlepasses for life, and apex seem to get better once you've gotten through the filler of cosmetics it's a grind definitely

As a free to play player I have never appreciated anything more then the breakout and amped knockout challenges I honestly wouldnt be playing the game today if I hadn't gotten fuse and mad Maggie for free I play for fun so I usually dont do any challenges cause they ruin the experience for me so having a way to get legends that isn't waiting 30 hours of gameplay to earn enough legend tokens is really good because legends are the only way to expand the depth of the game as you get to experiment and swap between a larger pool of abilities

I am free to play since Seaosn 3 or 5 when Revenant came out (Probably 5). Never felt left out. Most of the time I got pretty rad skins on Rare and Legendary packs. Mostly played 2+ hours a day. The only time I paid for was the Maggie intro skin. Wished I got the Horizon intro skins too tho. Paid to win doesn't really help anything other than better skins and sights which some pack skins already have. I still enjoy the game even after not playing for a while. It's like my fast pace shooter games while I Minecraft for longer grind sessions. Games were meant for fun but many companies won't see that (coughEAcough) but I hope people can enjoy games like a playground rather than a tournament, minus the obvious issues ofc.

I also had enough to get fades sig weapon for free and stopped playung in i think it was feb or march 2023 when they said they were shutting the game down .Man i still miss apex

I would love for this to be a series. Maybe once a week you guys play on your ftp and just dump the vod onto KZbin Maybe even do challenges on the way. I’ve got one I think will be pretty difficult. Win a game with 10-15 minimum kills between the two of you BUT you’re not allowed to bleed, so if you ever lose health it’s game over (taking shield damage is ok)Hoping this would spark some epic sentinel and/or PK clips

Because say I start out as a new player really wanting the "London Calling" Lifeline legendary skin but instead got a skin for...let's say Crypto. I have spent a total of $10 usd since the beginning of Apex, yes you've heard me right I've been playing since day 1. I do not have an heirloom, I barely have any crafting materials, and my Legend skins are almost non-existent. After my friend who's spent like $100 USD got two heirlooms 'at random' I just stopped playing. There's nothing to keep me playing. At least titanfall lets me look cool, and all I need to do is just play games.

I played at launch until season 7 nonstop, battlepasses done 3-7th season, was on and off the next seasons until now, and still no heirloom, but at least I have the original batte pass evolving skins and don't have to grind 50 different currencies to get them.

Legends take wayyyy too long to unlock after level 100, which is still relatively early, as f2p unless you find your fav legend, you will get bored quite fast
