I shoot all 4. You forgot Fiberglass arrows. I still have several dozen of those. I truly love the old wood arrows. I still have some that my Dad and I made back in the 60's. I have some that Dad made for me before that in wood for my Bear Cub that they bought for me for my 11th or 12th birthday present in 40#. A year after I got it, I took it to summer camp for my archery merit badge. I shoot instinctive and posted the highest score ever recorded at that camp...ever. Probably been way surpassed since. I'm still shooting Bear Bows and love them. Just a couple days ago I picked up an old Bear Grizzly 45#. At 74, that weight is still my favorite. Shot competitively for years and was in the last Bear American Indoor Archery Tournament in '72. Everyone had a flufu stuck in the top of their target as a souvenir...and I still have it.

They all shoot great, but I prefer wood, I just like the look, feel and sound of the woody as it is shot. Plus when you break a POC arrow, they smell real good too!!

I make my own arrows and shoot all three just depends on the bow the day how I’m feeling. Love these type of videos.

Wood arrows will always be more appealing to a traditional archer, but they break a lot and nowhere near as strong as carbon arrows.

Imo it all depends on the wood. I'm finding bamboo holds up well. But generally I agree

Fletchings on aluminum arrows are more susceptible to changes in temperature- this can make the glue not last as long and you have to reflect the arrow more.

One way to combat this is to use an arrow wrap so not fletching directly to the bare shaft. Helps with having a strong glue bond and easier on refletching if you need to.

Newbie here: Can you shoot an aluminum arrow accurately from a straight bow? Since the arrows flex after leaving the bow all the way to the target, I wonder if the stiffness of the material will lead to inaccuracy from this kind of bow. My bow is a 35# fiberglass straight. I can no longer find wood arrows around here but there are plenty of aluminum ones. Thank you!

You will need a weaker spine than normal recommendations, but yes, you can shoot aluminum arrows from bow like that.

If you are using wood arrows take the plastic nocks off and learn how to cut a self nock so much better
