I actually beat Trump at first I thought it was someone with same name. But then I went to his stream and he was actually the one that played me (I went after I won as I didn’t notice until then) I’m a sub par player at best too and it was in arena he ended up going like 12-2 with that deck too. To be fair it was the old school arena days where basically whoever gets tempo first such as zombie chow on 1 a 2/3 on 2 spider tank on 3 will basically just win the game and I got lucky with perfect tempo. But still haha

Watching this video makes me so glad I dropped this game years ago. It's become so swing heavy it's nearly impossible to tell how you're doing. There's so much board clear the it just feels like an uphill battle constantly. ANd way way way too much randomness and cards with insanely high value like that poisonous weapon that makes you immune. How the hell is that even remotely fair or balanced. that's 5 free minion deaths at 3 mana with zero downsides.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I've said it for years, rng makes the game more fun to watch, but less fun to play. Spectators love the "anyone can swing the game at any time" idea because it makes every single turn an "edge of your seat/what's gonna happen" kinda moment. But genuinely skilled players HATE that crap, because what a competitive player wants most is consistency and the ability to reliably calculate how frequently every possible outcome can occur. If you can consistently do things that it is effectively impossible for your opponent to play around, then the game itself is broken. I stopped playing back in Karazhan, because even the portals back then were bullcrap, where entire games were sometimes decided by whether you got a good minion off the portal or not. I tried to come back to the game twice over the years and it just gets worse and worse.

Well, that's a bit of an outlier example thankfully. That rogue was playing Whizbang, a card that gives you a random prebuilt deck each game. But in order to make the prebuilts not totally suck like they usually do (like they did with the first Whizbang), each one of the decks has some unique twist that "breaks the rules" of hearthstone. So the Rogue deck has 5 "Duels" Treasures, basically super powerful cards that come from a PvE gamemode where the average power level of cards was different. Your frustration is still valid though, it's still a lot of randomness, have to get super lucky to get that good of a card at the perfect time like that. But I feel it's worth mentioning that particular card isn't a constucted card that you can add to your decks, because that would be much worse lol

For real, I had over 1000 hours played, enjoyed the game but was starting to get a bit stale. Then I played a placement ranked game where I missed 2 arrows as Mirana and a guy on my team just wouldn't stop berating me for the rest of the game - to the point where I just started missing arrows on purpose, jumping into the enemy team to die etc. It was the push I needed to quit the game, haven't touched the game for 7 years now so much less stress in my life lol!

@@Petr3y I reinstalled Dota 2 for about 2 weeks once or twice a year. The new facet stuff they added is cool and I wanted to check it out. I give myself ~3 more days before I uninstall again this time lol I'll be watching Dota 2 forever, but eventually I'll stop reinstalling it /copium

Day9 was right on some points being confusing like frostbite and stuff but the comments about the other keywords is just kinda wrong and biased. Like its exactly the same as hearthstone or MTG but just named differently. Battlecry, deathrattles, flying from MTG, they are all there so im really confused what his problem with that was. But yeah to each their own i also think LoR has a ton of flaws, just not the ones he mentioned

Hearthstone has become pretty much unplayable with insane cards. Decided to log on for a game after seeing this. My opponent pulls a 3 mana card that reads "discover a legendary minion and put 2 copies of it on the board." Now the board has 2 Ragnaros on it. wtf is this?

Toxic players actually don't bother me anymore. I just remind myself that they are actually raging because they suck at the game and always loose. However, they can't admit that to themselves so they blame their team mates instead. So then I don't care that they're mad at me, their opinion is shit. So I just smile, mute and move on with my life.
