I’ve used breath prayers often and breathing exercises have really helped decrease anxiety

That's so cool - it was a pretty new concept for me so I'm still getting the hang of it.

This is really powerful, almost like bringing our breath into submission to the word of God!

I like that phrasing you used: bringing our breath/body into submission. So true.

Thanks so much Josh for this video on Breath-prayer. It was very timely. I was able to share it with my son today who was over stressed about his work load, and coming from another bloke as yourself it was a huge blessing to him. God has perfect timing.

This is the epitome of being still…calming the soul and fixing our eyes on Him as storms rage around and within us. Thank you!

I love the simplicity of this! Thanks for the video. I’ve found myself doing something similar to this during times of distress -reminding myself of God’s promises out loud. But I never thought about consciously breathing in and out with the words. Forget not all His benefits….He forgives all my sins. Forget not all His benefits…. He heals ALL my diseases. The LORD is my shepherd…. I shall NOT want. In Him I live….and move & have my being. I can do all things….through Christ who strengthens me.

Thank you for this, Josh. I spend about 20 minutes in stillness each morning. As I begin I always ask God to bless this time of meditation and think may I be still and know that you are God.

Wow Josh, This is one of the coolest videos you've done so far. I love it, and am going to incorporate this into my own scripture memory work. Thanks for sharing this. One of my very favorite verses from the New Living Translation is Isaiah 46:4: "I will be your God throughout your lifetime---until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you." Note: For some reason, I am not able to download the breath prayers pdf. Could you look into this please? Thanks.

I saw this email piled under loads of spam admittedly I glanced through it as the school semester wrapped up.....but even the glance at "breath prayer" was captivating and most memorable to the point that a few weeks later I've circled back around as i felt a pull to revisit it and just today watching this. Can we have a little bit of church history on breath prayer like how it started just curious... like not even video maybe just a link in the video description or something so folks don't get spooked on new age....well I tried it today and I felt a deep peace...i want to visit some favorites like John 14, and many of the psalms.....We know Christ gets all the glory but your ministry has played a big role in my life and that of others its more than just memorizing of scripture yes that a huge first big step but it's almost like your teaching us not just what but how to enjoy the word....that is so needed today the how to...again many are saying the what but how to not really...lots of teachers not many fathers... breath prayers allow that pause in his presence ...feels like im worshipping Him...makes me even want to take communion thinking about breath prayers. Brrath prayers further slow down the meditation process....makes me think of a when a baby is starting on solid foods and a parent has to teach them how to slow down.... you do it with so much grace no doubt the Christ in you.... breath prayers do just that for me...Thanks for all you do Brother 🙏 Blessings on your family.

What are you trying to say with that passage?
@forevergoodnews55812 жыл бұрын
I've never tried the breathing technique part, but recently experienced being bombarded with resentful thoughts against a fellow believer. I then kept repeating "bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" until victory was won by God's grace and the negative thoughts ceased. On another note, you mentioned about "Selah". Was wondering if your personal practice is to say the word when you recite a passage that has it? I've noticed some omit it from a recitation or an oral reading of Scripture.
@BibleMemoryGoal2 жыл бұрын
I’m glad that you were able to bring those thoughts captive. As for Selah, I haven’t memorized any psalms yet that have that word, but if I do, I think I probably will memorize the word. Why not?
@forevergoodnews55812 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I included it in a recent recitation video I did of Psalm 46 by the seaside, with crashing waves in the background (inspired somewhat by your Galatians video 😊) kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3-pmpdrl7iZr5o. It's just that I've read some say "Selah" is a musical direction for singers and therefore should be omitted from a recitation.🤷🏻♀️

The psalm that is mentioned in this video does not in any way reference breath prayers. In fact, I don’t believe there are any references in the Word that references breath prayer. “Be still and know that I am God.” is being said to the Israelites to tell them that they need not worry. It’s the same as if we were to tell someone “Don’t worry, I’ve got this.” This verse has nothing to do with “breath prayers,” “centering prayers” or “contemplative prayer.” He is simply telling the Israelites not to waste time worrying about their situation that God has exposed them to, and instead spend that time excepting the fact that God knows how to get them through it.

yall need to leave that new age stuff alone
@BibleMemoryGoal8 ай бұрын
It’s a practice that’s been done for thousands of years among Christians, so I honestly don’t care what “new age” people want to claim as theirs.
@BibleSamurai8 ай бұрын
@@BibleMemoryGoal you should. age is not a factor of truth. the Master already taught us how to pray. No breath work, poses, or contemplative prayers mentioned. A simple out line of adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication from a humble heart. Am I lying?
