Although non-nuclear EMP (NNEMP) weapons exist, their blast radius is no more than 5 to 10 miles and more typically only a few hundred meters. The HEMP weapons discussed in this video all have a nuclear trigger. If you start exploding nukes over the US, that will trigger an all-out nuclear exchange. Kind of an important point to have left out.

This problem has been known to American Government Leadership for decades, but the United States Military has been keeping up with the danger of EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse). However, the Federal Government has DONE NOTHING to protect American Electrical Infrastructure from this danger (whether Man-made or Natural). It is lethal if wanted, they can disturb cardio activity in humen and cause heart attack. Not joking about pacemakers, I mean real heartsd, muscles. They can also jolt muscles and make people cramp. To me, it was demonstrated how they stopped a bus in Bangkok on the trafficked Sukhumvit Road. The driver looked puzzled but I understood what happened. I've also had "hooligans" to EMP my home through the wall. For example, I was not able to start my computer for several hours. This works by capacitors on the mother board (or somewhere) get overcharged by this EMP and they need to be discharged until the computer starts normally again. Anyone, inlcuding you who read this, can build an EMP from parts from your microwave oven. Then as hooligan you can radiate through walls to knock of electronics and maybe also set the neighbhors house on fire. Normally I would not tell about such simple murder weapon, sucg that does not leave fingerprints... but this decades old stuff is getting well-known and we will soon see random evil people running around with microwave "guns".

EMP has been a strategic warfare element since the sixties. By the seventies they already had designated aircraft flying continually in certain areas of the U.S. The Air Force flew specific models of F-111 which were packed with "jamming equipment." The Navy flew specific models of E-6 similarly equipped. It was said that a single F-111 could wipe out all radio communication in the Pacific Northwest. I expect we don't really need to know what evil they could unleash today.

Electro-magnetic wave has an Electric field component (E), a magnetic field component (H) to it & both (vectors) are perpendicular mutually (as they ought to be, thanks to James Clerk Maxwell). The product (cross product "E X H") defines the power associated with the progressing wave & direction that is perpendicular both to E & H. If one (E) is in x dierction, the other (H) is in y direction, the propagation is in the z direction. If directions are reversed (E in y, H is in x dirction), the propagation is in -z direction ("Poynting" vector) or coming towards you (rather than away). Thus the three directions "span" the 3 dimensions of Space. While it (product E X H) is so, the ratio, E/H is important too. It is called impedance & is a measure of interaction between the wave & medium (matter). If it is right (same impedance) the wave propagates smoothly. Else there'll be obstruction, eddys generated & energy exchange. A student in graduate class pursuing the study of EM peopagation/radiation can tell you(if he is good pupil) this much. In "practice", Electric field E is measured in "volts per metre". Sending very high power EM waves (mostly Microwave part of the Spectrum) 50000 V/m can be generated in lab conditions. Such a field breaks down the medium & electric arcs get generated (break-through) in it (medium). Heart, for instance is run on EM waves generated that can be sensed by a transducer & converted to electric signals, recorded on a paper strip (ECG). The waves are typically less than 1 microvolt. Change in potential (membrane resting potential) causes movement of muscle tissue in the heart. Cell phone (kept in the left pocket of shirt) generated-signals are even less in E. Nevertheless it is better to keep the cell-phone away from, near the heart. Electro Encephalo Gram (EEG) show susceptance to EM environemnt, all the same. In an aircraft, wiring runs carrying currents, between different equipment/modules or subsystems - susceptible (susceptance= H/E) to ambient electric field of appropriate strength. It leads to inetrference with the currents that adevrsely will affect the functioning of them. Best way is to shroud the modules in conducting foil (suitably "grounded") & interconnect them with fibre-optic cabling. Light too is Electromagnetic waves & now used to carry "signals" in many applications (signals to the lap-top, devised by the service provider). "Light" signals (typically in wavelengths of 1 micron, or IR, aren't susceptible to EM pulses).

Humans cannot live peacefully together. They try to do it living in sin and without God and to do so is useless. Jesus Christ is the only answer to humanity. His kingdom is coming soon and he will rule with a rod of iron on the earth! The wicked and those who do not believe the salvation from Jesus Christ will not be allowed to inherit God's kingdom. There will be the righteous judgment of God, and only then will there be peace. You cannot be spared to be a part of God's Kingdom if you do not accept Jesus Christ. "He who denies the son, denies the father also". "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.... I believe that Russian and Chinese submarine torpedoes severing vital internet cables under the seas and oceans is also a strong possibility in the early stage of a war. Rooskie subs have been observed hovering in the vicinity of cables. The resulting international collapse of the internet will begin a rapid domino shutdown of communications on all levels, followed by mass electrical power-grid failures. The undersea cables are totally ridiculously vulnerable.

For example the gas heater has a flame detector that automatically cuts off the gas if the flame goes out. That is what is needed on the grid. Safety features installed to protect and control the flow of energy. This is technology that can be done.

Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) weapons take advantage of a problem build into modern electronics. The current state of the art electronics takes advantage of the small size of CMOS (Complimentary Metal On Silicone) to build larger and larger blocks of circuitry to have really small circuits that act like their larger brothers. CMOS circuits are current devices that require only 2 transistors for a working gate while DTL and TTL are voltage based circuits and require a minimum of 3 or more transisters to achieve the same logic. The problem is that CMOS is very weak with against high voltage such as the high current supplied in a TTL circuit which will blow their junctions every time. Thus when a nuclear EMP pulse or a high current TTL output applies high current to CMOS they blow the PN junctions that switch the fast but sensitive transistors in CMOS.

Usually starting with gamma ray emissions which are absorbed then remitted at a longer wavelength. Any length of receiving antenna from micro circuit to miles long power, cable, and telephone lines can create an electric load. Once only the domain of a one time nuclear blast is now created with conventional means, even repeatable with the CHAMP cruise missile. These less expensive, and less controversial methods increase the probability of use. A more detailed description of the effects on the general population can be found in "Lights Out!" by Ted Koppel. Interviews were on KZbin.

Once you frag the satellites which is the first thing China will do in A war with the U.S. the EMP weapons are largely pointless. Most military equipment in U.S. and Europe has some EMP shielding capacity. Also firing EMP weapons at the mainland U.S. will draw A nuclear response, the U.S. will not wait to see if the missile coming to the mainland is EMP or Nuclear. Whether the U.S. Mil can still fight without it's satellite network is the more relevant question.

An EMP would work well for HVTs but would be impossible to use on a large scale, on the ground. The most effective way would be to launch and detonate nukes in space, in our Lagrange points. When a nuke is detonated in space, it creates an EMP and w/o the networking infrastructure we all depend on, up to 90% of the population would die or so it's been estimated.

Why is it estimated the 90% of the population would die without electricity? That sounds outrageous to me. I got enough canned + dry foods, lots of it, I could survive without electricity for quite some time, and in the meantime I could hunt. I also don't believe it would take too long to distribute emergency / a new means of power one the full country is mobilized (like, as long as we are talking a month or two instead of years, it's survivable afaiu). Several million or so would die, but 90% of 330 million?? On the plus side, America would emerge having solved our obesity crisis, lol

EMP was one of the surprising results of tests if nuclear explosions above the earth's atmosphere conducted by the US and USSR in 1962. The other was the nuclear blackout effect. In combination these can do a great deal of damage to electrical and electronic systems of all kinds. In a nuclear attack these will be the first explosions because among other things they will completely blind all radar over a very wide area leaving the target helpless to defend itself. This is why systems like S500 would be useless I'm a nuclear war. EMP weapons of much lower power have a much more limited effective range. Other directed radiation weapons can affect both equipment and living organisms. This is why many experts warn of the danger of 5G telecommunications technology. The antenna radiates a focused high energy beam in pulses of up to 100 Ghz. Microwave weapons experts point out the similarity between such weapons and 5G.
