Can u explain it to me easily pls I don’t get it
@Vagabond-Cosmique3 жыл бұрын
@@sdampx1151 Enzymes are basically biochemical catalysts: they speed up biochemical reactions. Imagine you have the following reaction: • A + B → AB Now, with an enzyme, you would get this: • A + B + Enzyme → AB + Enzyme What's the difference you ask? Well the second reaction is faster. That's it. That's what enzymes do: they speed up biochemical reactions. Enzymes are specific about what reactions they speed up, and their "efficiency" can be affected by several factors: temperature, pH etc. Inhibitors are the opposite of enzymes: they prevent, or slow down reactions.
@thinginground51793 жыл бұрын
@@Vagabond-Cosmique Gee thanks! Now.. where would you find enzymes? Are they sub-cellular structures residing in a cell?
@Vagabond-Cosmique3 жыл бұрын
@@thinginground5179 I didn't know the answer to that question, so I had to look it up: most enzymes are proteins (chains of amino acids), which are made in ribosomes. Also, since they are molecules, I don't think they qualify as structures. www.quora.com/Where-in-the-cell-are-enzymes-produced www.toppr.com/ask/en-es/question/where-does-the-synthesis-of-enzyme-occur-in-a-cell/
