Do isotopes also get positive and negative charges?
@patrickrannou12782 жыл бұрын
If you put all atoms in the universe in vast imaginary boxes, and sorted them all by element type, isotope number, and ionic charge, each box containing atoms of only one of these combined values, would *ALL* the atoms, from one single same box chosen at random, always be identical perfect copies of each other? Or would there still some possible differences?

is it possible for an element not to have any neutrons?
@fuseschool11 жыл бұрын
It is possible! Hydrogen is the only element that doesn't have any neutrons.
@alishreim8 жыл бұрын
+Riley and harry mincroft tutorisl.com It is possible since neutrons are like the 'glue' for holding to positive charges (protons) together, since hydrogen only has 1 proton, it is the only stable element to be able to not have neutrons.

@fuseschool7 жыл бұрын
Yes - technically it is. Isotopes of an element share the same number of protons but have different numbers of neutrons. Just because carbon-12 is the "normal" version carbon-12, carbon-13 and carbon-14 are all isotopes of carbon.

been thinking of isotopes ever since i was interested in wall street stock market news way back in 1998 or so when i lived in east side of ST Louis at a coffee shop then figured how to get mega loads of money then the twin towers fell in NYC in 2001 it was a long day we sold the house that day we had choice to live in Houston .TX OR Nashville .TN . the day we arrived in Nashville day 1 we get pulled over from the police dept over a traffic violation At the time my mother re married to a ex military man reason of my last name was Different from her husband the driver and my mom the passenger then they radio up gang unit to take info on me and car that i am in i thought it had to do with my real dad who was in south america or afghan country for the government then after awhile they let us continue on around the area of Nashville at that time it was not as busy as it is now . well that is page of time out of my life and wanted to share here . take care .

Great video, but I would caution students: the mass number (A) should be written as a superscript to the LEFT of the element symbol; the atomic number (Z) should be written as a subscript to the LEFT of the element symbol.
@brittanyhaas557411 жыл бұрын
One flaw: The atomic number (number of protons) would be on the top right corner instead of the bottom right And the mass would be on the bottom right instead of the top right Just a simple switch and the lesson still works.
