Thanks for the amazing shout out Ana! I'd love to chat with you about the work we do to help teachers build their own bespoke microschools!

You mean, like when i first started teaching in 1998...yep. Imagine that. I meed to investigate these schools because I just can't thrive in a typical educational institution.

How do the learning guides get paid and how much do they get paid? Also, how do micro schools address dyslexia, and other learning disabilities?

Ms. Fab, how do we tie microschooling and alternative learning to certification and validation of knowledge? We still are too dependent on credentials and prestige from big institutions in order to get opportunities. How can we elevate the value of alternative learning in society?
@AnaLorenaFabregaMsFab4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nickolas! I disagree that we are dependent on big institutions to “get opportunities”. There are several alternative paths for higher education. But if your question is if kids that pursue alternative paths can enter college, the answer is yes. College admissions is handled very similarly for homeschoolers as it is for traditionally schooled students. In fact, many admissions offices actively seek out homeschoolers. There are, however, a few differences regarding how homeschoolers submit certain application materials.

I think the model is super interesting. My one question is how is this model feasible for low income students or families who work out of the home. I worry that micro schools are only available to those who can afford it.

I answer this question in the video :)
