This system works well with Reece James and Cucurela as fullbacks. overlapping & under lapping fullbacks like Gusto & Chilwell will struggle. Noni Madueke is good in 1v1's but poor in tracking back. Cole Palmer is suited well in the system. I fear for Mudryk coz he might not get chances to impress. Jackson will come good but we hope he improves on his finishing. Center backs like Badiashile & Colwil will have competition on the left, I hope Chalobah stays he can play as our main Center back & James can play on the left side of the defense. we hope to see how Caicedo & Lavia play together

That was very well done. Explained it perfectly, to my knowledge anyway of constant research. I do think Enzo will be key in the constant/resting 6 position. People are saying James to invert, but he and Enzo aren’t amazing 3 second pressers. To me this where Enzo and Cucu have to be paired. Alternatively, Caicedo as the 6 and James inverts next to him. I would like to see both Palmer and Caicedo occupy the half space. Caicedo is more of a driving player than Enzo. He has a better short ball in behind because of his quick feet. Enzo is the master of controlling the game. Long ball, short ball and absorbs pressure on the ball. He is vocal and directs play. I don’t think the blue print is only one of Pep’s Man City because we know Maresca’s original obsessions was a Pep’s Barcelona. If I was to make comparisons to the famous Barca team, Alves = James, Bosquets = Enzo, Caicedo = Inesta, Palmer = Xavi, Jackson = Eto, Pedro = Sterling. We hope for Colwill or Badi to = Pique. Fofana to = Puyal. The left back can not be compared as it didn’t exist. No player has hit perfection yet of this position, but I have hope for Cucu due to his sharp passing, his ridiculous press. But needs to improve as a left back with his decision making. Our left winger is the most importantly player to emulate in their own way a Messi type player. Paez, Willian, Noni, Palmer or Olise. Like the impact that De Bruyne has given City. As we know Barca mastered possession because Messi created an end result. Again, similar to KDB. Spain failed to be truly effective over a long period like many other teams who don’t have the natural talent of a difference maker. Should that player be Palmer, that opens a spot for Nkunku who is a very good second choice to both Palmer and Jackson. Jackson also being a very good option out wide like Eto occasionally did. Mudryk still has the ability to become extraordinary should Maresca be able to make an impact to Mudryk’s lack of football brain. He has the tools to become super elite. This is what I’m most excited about.

This has to be Mudryks last chance here tbh, he seems the type who needs clear instructions and to be coached to be effective. if he still struggles then the club has made a massive mistake.

Mudryk game IQ is so behind his teammates. Also when he is defending his posture was often bad and lazy leading to him getting passed on or let a pass goes passed him easily. His touch was not consistent and still quite often leads to heavy touch and his 1v1 is very telling about what he gonna do that made him need a big space to be effective.

@@footballfan5048 Honestly isn't it so baffling to witness. I've been into football for 30 years or so and I've never seen a player like him completely mess up the basics of professional football. There is Sunday league teams who do more 😆 🤣 His comps from previous club and to him now is so night and day I just can't understand where that player has gone. OK maybe he just needs clear instructions and coaching I'm on board for that, but if he fails there then my god man the guy needs to rethink his career.

@@hanifhussain7147 I think he will be okay but whether he can be a top player of top club quality or not remains a question that time will tell. I can understand how he thrived under De Zerbi because De Zerbi is very good at coaching techniques and even give a demonstration of the details.

@@footballfan5048 I hope so, the guy has this raw quality about him which is frustrating he isn't blowing up and really showing what he's about. Having someone like him isolated on that left with a ton of space for him to run at full speed would give opposition nightmares! Hope he discovers something next season.

All we can do is support our new coach and hope he adapts quickly to the fast passed premier league. His tactics look like they could give our team the chance of developing in a team no one wants to play against, as TT used to say.
