Has this video helped give you an understanding of primary, secondary and opposite colors?

Actually, as an artist, we selected a minimum of three colors that we would like to use as basic colors. So it's our basic colors. Primary colors only exist theoretically because no pigment can represent these ideal colors and therefore we can only approximate the primary colors with pigment colors. That is why manufacturers also choose different colors as their primary colors. My basic colors change from time to time pictures, so I have a box with 60 colors. Otherwise, I have a box to practice with 3 basic colors and 6 extra colors.

It is true that in order to get a full range of colours you would need several versions of each primary. Ideally each primary would be represented by a warm and cool version in a beginners set 🙂

@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber For practising, a watercolour set are enough to learn the techniques, so there is no need to worry about which colors are the right ones. Then with more practice we can try different colors until we find our favourite colors that are practical for us. I saved myself a little time trying out and learned a lot about colors with the website of Jane Blundell. I like to use Siena nature, Siena burnt and ultramarine as a trio for landscapes.

@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber It saves a lot of experiment time because I didn't have to mix certain colors with each other to see the mixed colors.

Ah, filming in the UK is tricky at the moment, it's very dark! Affects the colours 😏

@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber a paradise for lamps ;-). I know that with the light I come from Lower Saxony that is in the north of Germany there are many clouds in winter and its dark very early.
