This lesson will define the scattering parameters (S-parameters) of a network, which describe the reflections and transmissions of voltage waves impinging on the network ports. This course was created for Ansys Innovation Courses by Dr. Kathryn Leigh Smith, assistant professor, UNC-Charlotte, in partnership with Ansys.

Does a network mean only an LTI/LCR circuit? Or only resistors and negligible L and C? I presume no non-linear components.

The plus and minus symbol is confusing

how so? + means waves entering and - means the wave leaving. It's fairly intuitive I think. If something is leaving then there is less of it right?
