My son is 20 and pondering life after Burger King. I told him to go into sewing machine repair, as in 20-30 years all you guys will be retired and he'll be a valuable commodity. I've seen "schools" for this sort of thing, cost as much as my Microsoft certs from the 90's and kinda skeptical of them. Although going for a longarm class would be valuable to be certified in. Also, getting a 3D printer to make parts would be quite an investment. (For metal parts too.) Thanks for all the valuable info!

SADLY, my model of sewing machine wasn't included in Mark's listing. It's seemingly impossible to get a service manual for a Singer 9960. Great video, though.

The Singerish website was very interesting but did not have a service manual for a Singer 4830C. I wish to clean and oil this machine before giving it to my Grand-daughter. Is there another website where I can find this information? Thank You

I actually have a question, as I am currently working on a DA 267 which had a bearing freeze up. The service manual mostly shows how to set timings, tune up, clean oil etc. But how about if you need to take apart the machine to replace a part? Are there separate service manuals for that or are you just kind of left to your own devices?
