I remember watching a series on this a couple years back. Just a couple tips: Hybrid slimes will produce both slime plorts when fed, but if you give them a third plort they'll become a tar slime and attack the normal and hybrid slimes, and the phosphorus slimes disappear in the light, so you either need to buy a corral upgrade that shades them or buy an underground ranch extension later on.

I definitely recommend reading full descriptions of all the slimes in the slimepedia, there will be useful information on their behavior/ specific traits and it will help in determining how to take care of them at the ranch. You don't need a silo to have a plort collector, the collector has its own internal storage. The silo is for storing stuff like plorts or food when you don't have inventory space or the market prices are too low, so you don't have to just leave everything on the ground and risk your slimes eating it all. You can also create largos at the ranch by feeding a plort to a different kind of slime and when you feed the largo, it will give both kinds of plorts. For example, you fed a tabby plort to a rock slime you would get a tabby rock largo and then you fed a hen hen or a carrot to the largo, you would then get a rock plort and a tabby plort. The only way to have largos at the ranch is to make them yourself or find one in the wild, suck it up against the vac pac and carry it all the way back. You can get rid of the tar slime by just throwing it into the ocean or shooting it with water.

Just a Tip: You can't Store Largo Slimes on your Vac, But you can Suck them up and Pull them into a Corral, You can also Make your own Largos by Shooting a Plort into a Slime that doesn't give it (Ex: Shoot Pink Plorts to the Blue Slimes will Make a Spiked Pink one) Edit: Also, Largos are Very much Worth it to have since they Give Two Kinds of Plorts Depending on what Hybrid they are

Honestly, Slime Rancher is amazing and full of wonders, and i hope you'll like it as much as i did. :) -PS, the 'the plort collector' dosent put the plorts in the silo, it just puts two storage boxes for two types of plorts in a corner of the corral you purchased it in. Then, you can vac them up from the dispenser also attached to the same corner of the same corral. Also, the max storage is 100 plorts.

I remember when I first learnt about Slime ranchers when it came out I really wanted to play it but I couldn't really afford anything because I was young and my parents had... quite the different views about video games(not that that stopped me from playing video games behind their back) So I was for some reason absolutely obsessed with this game from just the videos I saw and wanted to play it really bad I downloaded a pirated copy, played it for a while but my laptop at that time couldn't run it properly and so I eventually forgot about it Now for some reason when I saw an image of this game in some random video some very very very weird feelings of nostalgia came running in and I don't really know what to feel about them so I am writing this here to calm down Thank you for listening :)

Waffle, heres some tips for you to know. Slimes combine by eating other plorts, not from each other. A phosphor slime won't eat a pink slime, if there was a pink plort it will. Another, phosphor slimes die in the day. Third the tarr slime you saw, the evil bad looking one. It appears when a largo eats another plort unlike its own. So if a pink phosphor ate a rock plort... bad news. Fourth, your pink slimes want food and thats why they escape. When slimes get hungry, they bounce higher and try to escape. Feed them to prevent this. Fifth, for the plort collector it has its own storage. When you buy it, it sucks up the plorts into a container where you can suck the plorts out to sell.

Here are a few tips!!! 1. The black slime thing is called a tarr. they are bad and they eat other slimes. kinda like a disease. when they eat other slimes, those slimes turn into tarr, too. 2. The largos are actually made by one slime eating a plort unlike its own. 3. That massive pink slime that you saw, is called a gordo. Gordo slimes have to be fed 50 of the food it eats. When you feed them 50 food, they burst. When they burst, there are 3 loot crates, and sometimes a teleportation thing, or a slime key. 4. Slime keys are used for opening stone door things that open up to a new area to explore. Thats all i have. Sorry!! but please read this because u are actually one of my idols- Thanks!

Some info from a veteran rancher: That black swirly rainbow slime you encountered is known as the tarr. They are very hostile to absolutely everything, devouring slimes, rotting crops, and attacking ranchers. Whenever they eat a slime, they duplicate. There are no Tarr plorts , only more Tarr. As you may know, when a slime eats a plort, it becomes a largo. However, if a LARGO eats a plort, it doesn't become a double largo or anything, it becomes a tarr. Tarr are extremely dangerous and have the potential to spawn anywhere that there are 3 or more different slime types at once. Luckily, as long as you manage the slimes correctly, they won't show up. Don't let largo slimes eat any plorts, or you get Tarr. And if you DO get tarr, splash them with water. Tarr hate water. Because it kills them. You may need 2 splashes sometimes, so be sure to hit them twice.

the plort extractor already has storage for two different types of plorts. and you can not suck up largos but you can pick them up. you should also feed your pink slimes rock plorts to create a largo and get two different plorts to sell from the same largo and if you feed the largo one of the original slimes favorite foods the largo will give you four plorts

Waffle you're being silly the wiki said that the slimes don't merge together when a slime eats a PLORT that's not there's they turn into hybrids they don't merge and you can pick up the hybrid slimes if you have it on ur screen you can move it and put it in a pen it just doesn't go inside your inventory! also you should make a second pen cuz one pen can only fit 1-0 slimes before they escape! :D

I’m not sure how much help you want, but I recommend making like 4 largos per corral. Making largos combines their food preferences, so if you find it annoying to get meat for a meat only slime, combine it with something that eats veggies or fruit. And you can then feed them veggies or fruit and still get those plorts. Make largos by feeding a slime a different plort. So pink slime plus rock plort = pink/rock largo. Too many slimes in a corral makes it easy for them to climb one another and get out. And they try to escape when they’re hungry because they’re trying to get food elsewhere. Oh, and feeding their favorite food gives 2x the plorts. It’s hard to get that early game, but good for later.
