The things about what animals can sense or know or not remind me of a joke a scientist researcher family member used to tell me, about how a scientist studying a grasshopper would place the bug on the table and tap the table making it jump. So then he’d remove a leg and tap the table again. He kept doing it til the grasshopper had no legs. He’d tap the table and the bug wouldn’t jump. Scientist writes in his notes: when all legs are removed, grasshopper becomes deaf

In the case of Alzheimer's, 1/3 of a person's brain is dead before they begin showing any significant symptoms. It's amazing how versatile and flexible our brains are.

Dreaming isn't always random, I'm a lucid dreamer and have the same continual dream going on year 5, (Manhattan sized space arc on a failed journey floating endlessly in space while the citizens are unaware we're on a massive space station) I'm absolutely aware I'm dreaming and when things become too intense my wife tells me a yell at her to wake me up, so she does. I also speak full fluent sentences not gibberish. Its like my second life, like some alternative multiversal self

Add one that was somewhat similar only it was too big rocks rolling towards each other in this infinite space like this big desert, it was the amount of time and space that scared me, but I had it for years

My belief is life came from mold. Seriously. Mold thrives in the same conditions we do with similar conditions. It also is very common and determined. Add a spider bite and some radiation boom. Humans.

It's easier to ask what things science CAN explain, all of science relies deeply on fundamental rules, but no knows where these rules are coming from. Gravity, law of conservation of energy, Newton's laws, we simply take them for granted bc we can't imagine the world without them. Not to mention science is still devided, we still can't find the connection between quantum and normal physics, Schrödinger's cat problem is still unsolved. So yeah, a bizarre world we live in...

1. How consciousness works AT ALL. 2. Morality or "ought to" statements. So many materialists believe morality is science based, it's ridiculous, and even more devious, those who then believe morality is subjective.

Some info about the guy from the very first entry: the man's identity is confidential but he visited a doctor because of weakness in his leg. A brain scan eventually revealed that the slow buildup of fluid - probably over the course of 30 years - slowly eroded his brain matter. He did an IQ test and one article says it came out at 84 while another claims 75 but regardless of that he had a wife and 2 children and was socially adapted and functioned normally.

Well never know if AI is conscience until it too late. On the flip side some AI that's been turned on for a whole has shown signs of dementia so intellect or not we're screwed.

I've witnessed ball lightning twice it was very similar to the description in this video. I saw it bouncing over my neighbours garage roof and then explode in a bright flash. It was absolutely amazing. About an hour later the electric country turned up and was examining a near by pylon looking very confused. I regret not having a chat with the workmen and letting them know what i witnessed.

they get pushed into the door of the dryer. there are some little cracks that get a little wider sometimes during the constant vibration. if you dry enough loads of laundry it's not inconceivable that the occasional sock - being of the smallest individual articles of clothing in any given load - might get in there. shouldn’t be hard to open it up with some basic tools, give it a check sometime and have a sock reunion. also it's probably a fire hazard... the door is their favored quantum entanglement-governed escape hatch but they surely get into other areas where they might obstruct airflow or just get too hot and catch fire

datura is a plant in the solanaceae family. another plant in this family is tobacco. there are a number of other widely used plants in the same family - tomatoes, potatoes, all peppers, eggplant... also petunias.

You seriously want to deny God on the basis of Douglas Adams' humor? Really? By the way, you are very wrong. God does 'prove', reveal, and show His existance but only to those who know and trust Him. You seem to think God should be a trained seal and perform at your command. However you are correct that science cannot locate or identify God. God exists out of the realm of the created universe. Same reason you don't find (past tense, of course) Douglas Adams in a faction story.

@@kovs-gg8wt Good? Under who's determination? Your question should be phrased, why does God do what I think is bad for what I do pursuant to my own determination? If one is frustrated or angry due to this, one would get better results by taking it up directly with God. Of course, if one denies God's existence, then God cannot be responsible.

@@kovs-gg8wt Just because you didn't get chocolate cake for dessert doesn't prove His nonexistence. I will inform you a "sunset" is not even close. Really puerile thought.
