Constructive criticism, your naming convention is much more complicated than necessary. Just say no star, 1 star, or 2 star. It's faster and correlates directly to what they actually are. By changing it to level you sound like your confusing yourself and others watching.

You forgot to mention Knockback resistance incrases with Stars, atleast I always can heavy hit stun Fuling Berserker no problem, but a 2 star Fuling Berserker would resist all the knockbacks, same thing happens with just normal Fulings, No Stars get stunt easy with Polearm stab, but Fuling with 2 stars wont get stunt with stabs, only heavy attacks.

you can use t0/t1/t2 etc... It is consistent with the game, seing as the workbench without annything is lvl 0, and with one uppgrade is lvl 1. So the game uses unranked/unmodefied and a base, and using tiers(stars) as modifiers. So just use base/t0, then add stars at t1/2/3

We're talking in-game UI here which clearly has monsters with 0 stars, 1 star, 2 stars, (etc.) It makes sense to name them by their visual identification, thus zero star, one star, two star. I've played plenty of MMO's/RPGs and it's quite common to call something that's 'not upgraded' a 'tier 0' item while enchanted/upgraded items then become tier/level 1, 2, 3 etc.

Once you get a harpoon, it will be a lot easier to breed animals as you can pull them to your prepared enclosures for them, just don't switch weapons after harpooning them or the leash will detach. And don't try taming wolves if you haven't conquered the swamp yet, one wolf can kill a troll easily.

You forgot to mention. Loot scales exponentially. Also, 0-star drops are problematic, and depend on species. 0-star boars give between 0 and 1 meat - but you always get 1 leather scrap 1-star always give 2 meat 2-stars always give 4 meat

TO ALL THOSE TALKING ABOUT STARS & LEVEL LANGUAGE: Yes, it is more sensible to start counting from 0, but Iron Gate labeled their assets inconsistently. In the game code upgradable objects always start at "Quality/Level 1" and increase from there (its the same system for weapons or enemies). However, in the display that players actually see, Quality 1 enemies don't have any stars so counting becomes unintuitive. It's an inconsistency number systems between the developers coding the mechanics of the game and the developers making the graphics. And for anyone who knows game design...what the player sees and how the game works are often /very/ different. It's just when we start inspecting the mechanics of the game from the developer interface that the language can start getting out-of-sync understanding we built up from engaging with the game through the player interface. Maybe Iron Gate will /Iron-out/ this confusion later on ༼ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ༽.

6:18 re, offspring Based on my own observations, what happened here is that the 2 star produced that 2 star offspring and the 1 star didn't breed (perhaps too many boars in the area since it has food available). When I bred a 1 and 2 star boar, the 2 star birthed a 2 star and the 1 star birthed a 1 star. That may have just been coincidence. After that, I separated them and culled the 1 stars since I had a parent pair of 2 stars at that point. Either way, it's handy for breeding and rebuilding the herd after slaughter that each animal gives an offspring.

Thank you for the video, it is pretty easy to understand how the tier system works. I think the troll damage demo is a bit not fair, the normal troll dealt with his normal attack, whilst the 1 star troll dealt with his charged attack, which is usually more powerful. Other than that, to summarise the loot drop, it is doubled for the next tier. I am not sure if the developer is going to make the higher tier (3 stars, 4 stars, 5 stars) since intuitively the stats is doubled at each tier (imagine the tier 5 star greydwarf just deal you 128 damage with his humble scratching) and dropping 32x of the loot at 5 stars is pretty insane (also annoying when it is greydwarf eye).

The first is carrots, you need 5 bronze for a cultivator, and carrots from the black forest, 1 carrot seed nets 1 carrot, but 1 carrot can be planted for 1 seed carrot, which will drop multiple seeds, usually 3, so eventually, your producing far more carrots then you need for planting and can feed yourself, and tamed board ;D carrots can also be made into soup Next honey, the ruined houses in meadow's can have beehives, shoot those down with a bow, and the hive will drop a queen bee, you can them build a hive, with enough hives (I have about 15) you get honey, with no input needed, and eating the honey straight is 20 health and stamina, not amazing, but it's literally free :D (you'll want the honey for mead anyway) I know there is another crop like beets or turnips, but I haven't found them yet. Generally I hunt for meat, but I do have tamed board now, and they breed fairly quick, I'm not sure how many I will need to provide all the meat I need, but with carrots being so easy, it shouldn't be hard to build up my pig farm till I have excess meat :D

Things we have seen in our testing, 1. Lox breeding isn't implemented yet. 2. When you find a star creature in the wild, his spawn point usually respawns the same level, and when a tame stops being kited home, he returns to his spawn point. We had two 1 star boars that disappeared in the middle of taming. 7 days in game time later, we returned to their spawn point and they were back there with 19% and 15% taming respectively

Regarding the wolves (and earth trapped trolls), did you spawn them in? I ask because as of 2/24, the 1 star wolves only tame (or only eat, more specifically) at night and will despawn if you don't babysit them while taming (unsure if it's related to leaving the cell, getting a certain distance away, the wolf being out of sight or some combination). I had 2 despawn during the process and the 1 star I babysat got confused on mountain pathfinding and ran off, when put on follow (probably to get killed by a rock golem or skelly archer, if it got stuck on terrain). I was surprised you didn't mention this, if you tamed them in the wild as opposed to spawning, if the solo game has console commands available.

I'm still wondering if tier 1 can breed tier 2 after a long time without changing the lifestock. It's a chance to get a tier 2 piggy from just one tier 2 parent. Guess i'm just going to farm tier 1 boars to see if they breed tier 2 someday. because i have seen it's very buggy and difficult to tame and breed a tier 3 wolf and wouldnt it be nice if a regular wolfpack levels up eventually into a tier 3 wolfpack.

It is random on how much of the loot can drop. Your assumption about more stars means more loot is correct, but the test is a bit finnicky because rng. Though I need to figure a way to get way more food before ever trying to tame.

Cooking and farming. Sausages, carrot soup and turnip soup are my go to food items and they keep you going for a long time. Get that cook pot. Carrot seeds from the dark forest and turnip seeds from the swamp. A few dead drauger for intestines and you are set.

@@YellowGoddess I forgot to specify about food for the boars, and other tames. Though after actually opening my eyes and paying attention, instead of just running around trying to upgrade and move on to the next boss, I now have enough berries and mushrooms, I could have tames/soup. Yet I don't really understand the whole taming system if you can find enough around the map.

I assume it's like with taming wolves in mincraft, just get them to follow you, I type this because you can do the same with wolves in valheim(I've seent it on a stream). ..... just notice there's no prompt for it so I am most likely wrong.

Love the videos man! Just a thought, what if the results you are seeing are not random but in fact governed by the rules of genetics? What I mean is, could the breeding system work off of a punnett square? Where dominant and recessive genes are taking control. Then you could calculate the percentage chance of each type of offspring being born from a certain mating pair. What if the higher tier boars act like recessive genes and the lower tier boars act like dominant genes? I am gonna try and test this theory with a large sample size to see if I can find any patterns because it would be really cool if this theory was true.

Swamp and pains are the hardest biomes imo. Easiest goes meadows>dark forest>mountains with wolf armor cold protection, ocean. Id rather deal with 3 serpents without a bow and only the faith in God than stare down a 2 star troll or a death skeeter in plains

For consistency you shouldve been hit by the trolls by the same attack, the upwawrds down smash does more dmg in my experience

The troll damage showcase wasn't very accurate because the more things you hit at the same time the less damage each individual hit does. The first troll hit two of those earth mounds while also hitting you so its damage is reduced by alot, the second one swung with an arc and only hit you and did its actual damage. Not sure if it really matter but yea :/

Because levels is easier to understand. In plenty of games theres a leveling system so the term is just more familiar to more people. Also, he said at one point that two stars = level 3. So it would be hard,to express that through saying Star 1 and Star 2

I think console commands use level 1, 2, and 3 which means that's how the developer referred to them.
