Consider going to Adoration of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. Call your local parish and find out when they offer it. Then, just go and sit in silence in Christ’s Presence. Take your bible. Read scripture, pray, contemplate. Tell the Lord of your search for truth, of your doubts, worries, even fears. Then, be as patient with Him as He has been with you. When you receive the grace to know that HE IS THERE, you will be forever changed. Miracles occur in Christ’s presence - of that I can personally attest.

My last two confessions were not at the church I attend and both priests were rude to me and both said “I’ve never seen you at Mass” . Both times I fell apart and have never been back. I’m sorry this happened. But please know not all priests are like that. Allow me to share a recent experience with you. I too went to a church that was not mine or my regular, and the priest was quite abrupt and short with me. I left feeling quite disheartened. Nonetheless, I went back the following week and had a fantastic experience! I ended up confessing so much more than I originally planned and the priest was engaging and really sounded like he cared and truly felt sympathy for me and what I had been through and subsequently how all that made me feel - hence my need for confession. DONT give up. Remover why we are going there and what the end goal is. Pray over how you are feeling and what you experienced. Go back, and try again. Or go to another church and try there. You will find someone who will be receptive to hearing what you have to say. I will pray for you. Be blessed.

@@revecarodriguez709 it's not a good situation to be in and im sorry you are being put through this. My spiritual director told me that when it comes to confession it's ok to "shop around" because there are times when the priest can be horrible. The sacrament is still a sacrament regardless of the sinfulness or saintliness of the priest. But if you feel you are vulnerable to unnecessary attack, then go to a different parish. It will be like your own pilgrimage. Know that whatever happens, Christ knows your troubles and is sorting them out for you. Have you prayed the surrender novena before? It's very powerful.

When someone commits a mortal sin, do they lose all their good works? And if they do , are they regained by the sacrament of reconciliation? Thank you Father
@alexisrodrigues4767
@alexisrodrigues4767 10 ай бұрын
All the good works remain in one side, Sins on the other. Sins are washed away in Confession with "True Repentance" and not with lip service uttering Act of Contrition, which must be kept in mind, to have a "Valid Confession". About "Confession" do check on the 5 Obligatory Tasks must be fulfilled in order that a Confession is Valid, even if we do 1000 confessions without remorse and repentance. Hence all good works ( without self glorification ) always remain till your death and they are valid.

There are priests on KZbin that say go to confession every week or month. But I don't have anything to confess. If I say I lost my temper the priest is obviously annoyed. What if you just don't have much to confess? Or anything? Also, there are a few gray areas that are maybe clarified somewhere, but where? And what if your sins are old and you can't remember them or how many times you did it? Maybe you have more of these videos. Thank you Father.

It is said that even a virtuous person falls 7 times a day. There are too many near occasions of sin in the day to day life. Do you ever say your prayers? If you say your prayers, do you reflect and think over what you say or is it just a parrot practice? If you have lost temper, did you keep the grudge on that person or did you forgive deep down your heart soon afterwards? On the internet there are too many distractions and pop ups leading to fall into sin ( 6th commandment) even momentary. Do you get into gossip or talk ill of others or subordinates, which is against 5th commandment. Jealousy is against 9th commandment.

The question is about Confession. Did you fulfill "all the 5 Obligatory Tasks" for a Confession to be valid. Check what are 5 tasks, in order that confession is valid, else, it is mockery. For me for almost 60 years, I have been mislead even at Confession about certain things, until I came to know the 5 tasks from a Devout priest in Confession. All my previous confessions were all invalid, any indulgences were invalid, Holy Eucharist was a sacrilege. Slander and indulgence do not go together. It is mockery to Almighty. All sins must be fully repented from deep down your heart, because Almighty knows you in and out. At the time of your Confession, did you make a resolution not to commit sins from your heart? or is it just Act of contrition utterance?

@@EmmaJohnson115 Thank you. I give glory to Jesus for given me ample time to know where I went wrong. Before Vatican 2, I was instructed how to serve our Lord. I was given correct teaching, although none talked about 5 tasks of the Confession then. But I was given vivid picture of hell, which got me and my siblings all the fright of hell, especially the Hymn that was sung often "Day of Wrath", or "Dies Irae". After Vatican 2, the church removed this hymn in order not to fright the faithful. That was wrong. At the confession I was told I can do 2 mortal sins a week which will be fine. Also can be in mortal sin and take Communion, all that sort. Church was on the misleading path since Vatican 2. Hence Satan entered the Vatican since Vatican 2, as Pope Paul 6th told openly, although he said it is smoke of Satan. Ironically there is no smoke without fire.

Don't avoid going to confession. The sacraments of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist are of healing and strength. Don't preoccupy yourself with thoughts of future failures, but be confident of the strength of the Holy Spirit within you. And live your life accordingly to avoid the occasion of sin. Turn away from the temptation, invoke the name of Jesus, say a little prayer and be confident of the strength of the Father, the mercy of the Son, and the graces of the Holy Spirit surrounding you.

Why not attend and take part in the Saturday Vigil Mass. Do not test Almighty. No one is 24 hours busy. Moreover do check on "5 Obligatory Tasks" must be fulfilled to have " a Valid Confession", if not 1000 confessions dont make the mortal sin washed away, even if we get absolution.

What happens if you need to confess Things which are legal felonies And also mortal sins?
@FatherRichardGonzales
@FatherRichardGonzales Жыл бұрын
First, it’s important to note that the seal of confession forbids the priest from sharing information with anyone. The Code of Canon Law tells us that the seal is “inviolable” (can. 983.1), and if a priest were to break the seal (intentionally share the information), he would be automatically excommunicated. If the penitent is truly contrite, then the priest could talk it through with the penitent and try to get him to see what true repentance involves. If the penitent doesn’t intend to rectify his ways, the priest could withhold absolution. The priest may also strongly encourage the offender to turn himself in to the authorities.

Why don't priests and monks confess before or during Holy Mass like other people? I have another question about this quote from the Bible "Confess your sins to one another" (Jacob 5:15-16) So why does only one party confess his sins in the confessional? And is this quote from the Bible "Receive the Holy Spirit! 23 Whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain, they are retained". Doesn't he say that first of all we should forgive internally, i.e. forgive in our hearts, in the spirit of wrongs, resentments, sins that have been done to us, in order to have Peace in the Holy Spirit? That is, to give mercy, as in the prayer that the Lord Jesus taught us: "forgive us our sins, because we also forgive everyone who sins against us" Next question? Why is there no talk about confession to the Lord Jesus Himself hidden in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar? Isn't it basic and very important for the development of spiritual life? “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. John 4;23 So why do people make it difficult for one another and impose burdens, especially on the smallest ones, to come to the Lord Jesus, who wants to hear us in our hearts and not only in temples built by human hands? This path should be made easier, not harder. The heart is important and one should pray and confess with the heart, such prayer and confession is the most beautiful and answered. All this is a secret known only to God, so let's not pretend to be wise teachers, but humble ones and let's not tell anyone that this is the only way. Because God is everywhere, especially in the silence of our hearts. So why do you talk about this or that hour, here and there? „23 People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. 24 For the Son of Man in his day[a] will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. 25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation”. (Luke 17; 23-25)

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. I'll just add that I work in security. I am surprised that God gave me such light, such a miserable soul. I wouldn't have written anything myself. Thank you, Lord God, for the gift of the Holy Spirit through which I am writing this. „For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted”. (Matthew 23; 12) At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way. Luke 10;21 „Once, when a certain doubt rose within me shortly before Holy Communion, (56) the Seraph with the Lord Jesus stood before me again. I asked the Lord Jesus, and not receiving an answer, I said to the seraph, “Could you perhaps hear my confession?” And he answered me, “No spirit in heaven has that power.” And that moment, the Sacred host rested on my lips”. Diary of Saint Faustina 1677 No one knows God like an angel, therefore he does not even consider giving confession. Man, because he has very little knowledge of God
