Thank you your special video! 👍🏼 Very correctly explained! 👌🏼 People run for the returns and don't see the credit risk, ratings or quality in the fund scheme. Q: What would be your opinion on investing in 4 individual debt mutual funds (i.e. Dynamic Bond fund, Corporate Bond fund, G-Sec fund & Gilt fund) vs a single Debt mutual fund (i.e. which covers all 4 items by the AMC managed internally)?

Sir i thank you posting these videos , it has been very useful for me to understand the concepts. I have a question , i have invested in a long term debt Mutual fund, initially i have invested 10% of total investment amount into it. Now after understanding more about debt MF i am planning to invest around 50 % more into this . should i just add money into my existing folio or i should start a new folio?

Does any debt fund provide better returns than the best of Post office schemes(like scss product offering 8.7%), especially if the person doesn't have any income, or fall in

For senior citizens, pls don't go for debt mutual funds. If you are tracking financial news lot of issues RELIANCE, ILFS,ZEE etc... Debt is not safe as like FD.. research and invest. There is no free lunch

There aren't. In fact, even getting 8.7% on a consistent basis would be a challenge for most debt funds. Some long term debt funds give 10%+ provided you bought them when the yield cycle was turning. When repo rates are reduced, long term bonds yield as much as 10-12%. It's your responsibility to make that judgment call. The only funds I know that have done that are pension funds. But since your client is already retired, he can't create a pension account now. Otherwise, if you were asking just out of curiosity then almost all pension funds that hold 100% government bonds have given more than 10-12% CAGR over the last 5 years. LIC pension fund gave 14% last year. Their average bond maturity lifecycle (YTM) is 16 years.
