I blame Stardew having a bunch of people streaming it now is on how often it is recommended. It basically became slightly saturated with low view count streamers due to it constantly being a recommendation for not being saturated. It is also just a fun game that still has updates occasionally as well.

Dude you are dropping some serious truth bombs on your channel!! Watched this last night and thought "Okay lets give it a go", so I looked through and found a game I hadnt played for a few months but loved it so much. It had the exact criteria you had mentioned. So today I streamed it and for the first time i had 3 people watch about 90% of the 3 hour stream. And not just that, it was a game that made me really be myself and I was talking the whole damn time, was amazing. Dude thank you so much like you have been an absolute guide for me

I’ve found that games like VRChat work, if your stream looks good. Lots of viewership, and a lot of streamers BUT you will notice that the majority of streamers have zero flare to their streams not even showing their face. So it’s a lot easier for a good stream to stand out

I plan on starting steaming this month, I was kinda leaning this way already for what games cause I want it to be a hobby first and I'm not good enough to do competitive multiplayer games. I streamed for 400+ hours in 4 months and never had a raid. Then I switched to playing star trek bridge crew and star trek online and was raided twice in 1 week. My advice to not only you but to myself as well is find a rabid/underserved fanbase (that you know alot about) and play games in that category. Dont forget you will fail sometimes. I have streams where I get no veiwers in a 5 hour stream so I definitely don't have all the answers now but the more I fail the more I learn. And dont forget your main prerogative is to remain positive and fun. Dont be afraid to change it up and never take someone's advice thinking it will have the same exact effect on you that it did on them

I’ve seen a few people giving this advice before and I tried it thinking it wouldn’t work, but it does, you might not get viewers staying if your stream isn’t great quality but it’ll definitely get more people to check you out. I went from maybe 20 unique views to 120/130 and my average went up too. Obviously getting the eyes on the stream is one thing and getting them to follow or stay for a while is another but it definitely works

I know this is a old video but I recently started back on my Twitch on Dec 23rd with 35 original followers. I bought the equipment needed Capture cards HDMI splitters, and a Studio Mic Shure MV7. I started streaming PS2 games first and popped off! Gaining 4 to 7 followers a stream took a break then started playing Far Cry Series games from PS3 era and PS4. I've been playing PS1 games up to PS4, my most viewership is on MW 05 PS2, and Driver 1 and 2 PS1 I've hit 86 followers this week as I'm watching this video! Plus growing in commmunities is a plus~I've put my self out there on Aus discords and gained friendships as well as streamed with them. Growing slowly but surely almost affiliate! I'm currently stuck on 2.49/3 so close! I streamed Far Cry Primal and gained 3 followers and that boosted my Viewership Big time! I had consistent viewership and chat for 6 whole hours, Til I ended stream I raided out to my Aus friend! Get your name out there!

I can add The Forest to the list, not the biggest viewer count, but some very loyal fans (you'll get a lot of backseat gamers though), streamers who raid the same category, I hit affiliate in no time when I started playing that. For more growth, you'll probably need something bigger, but as a starter, it's a great game. I've noticed that Stardew has a loyal, chatty community, but I have a feeling they are also less interested in other types of games. Great video anyway, find your niche, but make sure you still enjoy it.

It’s interesting that Skyrim did really well for you. A friend once told me that RPG‘s are not good for streaming. And I noticed he was right because every time I did, it did not go well. However, these were not western RPG ‘s. They were turned-based. Lots of dialogue and cut scenes. Skyrim has lots of dialogue but I guess Skyrim is way more unpredictable and stuff so it can create unique moments. I just started Dragon’s dogma and I was thinking wow I want to stream this! However, I am remembering last year I did stream at one time and it was not a very good stream at all. Farming games are cool and they are in my niche, but honestly they just seem a little too relaxing for me. I enjoyed crash bandicoot because there was a lot of stuff I could mess up on and it was high action. So people doing channel point redeems to make me close my eyes was pretty fun I thought.

Regarding to your first point I would like to add a critical note. I followed this method as well for a bit playing Spelunky 2 on stream, which statistically seemed smart. Not a lot of streamers, quite a lot of viewers. Thing is, this one Korean dude that was extremely good at the game took up about 80% of those viewers. So don't look blindly at statistics - there is some traffic you will never get from other people! / edit Ok - I obviously didn't finish the video before writing this comment lol.

@@sir_decarlos3285 Np man! There are several videos on KZbin explaining why it's bad to become affiliate when you are growing. I sadly did the mistake. The contract you sign as an affiliate says e.g. that every content on Twitch you create is 24h exclusive for Twitch only. No multistream, no best of moments right after... See I just go by what I think will make good content for me. What brings out the best in me and of the show. And I mainly think about what will the audience like to see? What’s within my niche? But I don’t know, lately streams have been quiet. I usually bounce around between different games but I realized that means every time you see me, I don’t really 100% know what’s going on. Maybe people would like to see me being successful and flourishing at a game. So while I am a variety streamer, I take note of which games have been the best for me. What games got everyone chatting? What games did we say at three hours, oh my God I can’t believe it’s been three hours already? What games were people still chatting at by the end of the stream? you know usually my last hour is dead. So I decided to make a schedule so I can be a little more predictable. The first Sunday is multiplayer games as usual. Then the next two Sundays will be the same game whatever game I pick. Then the last stream of the month is Animal Crossing construction. Everyone always tells me to do animal Crossing. But it seems like then when I finally do, it’s not a very exciting Stream. The other problem is, yes I have been taking note of what games do the best so that we can revisit them, over the past six months. However. Age of calamity was one of my best streams in that timeframe. So I decided this month we will revisit that game! Well the turnout has not been great. And if you look at twitch, sometimes there are no people streaming it. It’s very small. Turns out I think the reason why people were so engaged with my first age of calamity Stream, is because the game was only out for two days at that time. I know people were watching me to see if they want to buy the game. They told me! But still, people were just very engaged and they liked watching me get excited about that astrologer. That wasn’t the case this past week. So I’m starting to realize it’s important to align with your niche and play games that bring out a good content, but that timing is also important. And that’s what I hate. Because my method has been to play the new hot games that are coming out for Nintendo. So every stream its a different game. And we know I didn’t like that idea. But it turns out, when asking my audience on Sunday, the people who don’t have the game, they are not interested. And the people that do have the game? They already beat it or they don’t want spoilers.. and while I love having people that can help me in a game, it’s not so fun with people watching you who have already beat in the game and are better than you. I want to enjoy a game together with the audience. So yeah, I don’t know. I know with your method you are going for twitch discoverability. How often would you research this discoverability? I mean if the data suggests it, would you end up changing your game every week or every time? Now that I am talking this through, maybe I can jump on the new games that come out, and if the stream does well, repeat that same game for the next three weeks. If the game doesn’t do well? Jump on to something else the next week. Maybe that should be my game plan. I keep wanting to start playing a game multiple times in a row. I think somebody explained it to me that if I keep switching up the games, somebody will follow me because they love a game, and then come back the next week and they won’t join the stream because the game they followed for is not there. But I don’t know. If I keep the niche similar, maybe it won’t matter. Luckily, I pull my viewers from Instagram so I don’t really count on the twitch discoverability since it doesn’t exist. However, maybe I should start taking into consideration. Not to mention lately I am realizing if a game is not popular on twitch, It probably means it’s not popular with people on Instagram either. Perhaps it’s an overall sign of the popularity of a game

I love that you are doing like a funnel method with this. Then you were looking at how can you be better? Look at the title! That’s great because I have been fairly successful in Instagram, just now crossing 10,000 followers, and with hashtags and content, the final is exactly how I do things. Do you want to rank high in the low volume tags so you can rank higher in the higher volume tags and it just climbs up from there
@switchunboxing3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know, my fortnite stream was very very successful. However, it was a multi player stream, so people probably join because they want to play. By the way, is it typical for multiplayer streams to be a lot more popular? I do them once per month but if this is some type of benefit or secret, maybe I should do that more often. Because they’re always a lot bigger. However, they do come with less chatters because a lot of the viewers come from the people playing the game with me, not to mention if I am playing multiplayer games with people, I’m not super present to be able to reply to the chat. And I don’t like that

I don’t have steam on my laptop and I don’t have a pc either and any other apps…and I don’t know any games or idea how to use or do this with all the and I am trying to get a pc, and other stuff and get into gaming, and other stuff like ASMR, voice acting, cosplay and role playing as well and I don’t know what to do to get started with this and I made a second KZbin channel and I just need some help and to get started.
