With Beauty and the Beast, that's why in the remake we see that the Prince is already an adult and everyone froze in age when cursed and the village forgot about them. Even though the remake has flaws, at least they clarified that plot hole.

Almost hate that I thought about this, but to the point of Jasper freaking out when Bella gets a paper cut vs the entirety of kids in high school who definitely can be accident prone, it is kinda pointed out something about her blood specifically being more potent or something. Beauty and the Beast makes a bit more sense if you look into the time it's supposed to be set in and how royal families tended to work during that era. To explain: the prince was likely the third or fourth child of the king and queen, too far down the line of succession to stand any chance of inheriting the throne, but still of royal blood and deserving of the expected lifestyle. As such he likely was given his own castle somewhere out of the way where he could live in luxury, with plenty of staff to raise him, spoil him rotten, and report on his wellbeing, but with no claim to any sort of actual authority or any way of interfering with the running of the kingdom (which may have been partially why he was such a brat before being turned into a beast, just imagine if you were a kid on the cusp of teenhood, whose parents never visit, lives in a gilded prison, has only his staff for company, and is told they're someone important but not really THAT important). As to why did no one seem to know of him, well, the movie's timeframe implies it takes place around or during the French Revolution. His family may have been too preoccupied with trying to flee or being beheaded to come and check on him, however, his remote location (and aforementioned being transformed into a monster) may have spared him the same fate. He was too far out of the way for anyone to come hunting for his head, and, after his transformation, anyone who knew about his castle may have taken a look at its state of nightmarish ruin and written it off as an unoccupied country retreat of the nobility that had fallen into disrepair.

The Little Mermaid 2023, Alright, I've got a lot that I could nit-pick at but I'm going to go with just one. In the original it was Eric who "sailed" the sucken ship into Ursula and ended her. That makes sense to me, he liked to be on the ocean and spent much of his free time on ships and around sailors. In 2023 it is Ariel who takes this role because...girl power...but how? She knows nothing about ships and how they work. So...how?

Okay, in defense of Walking Dead, it is set in a world where the zombie genre doesn't exist in media, so no one knew what was happening. Hence why they're never called zombies. First responders were among the first victims, and the military's attempts to control things made everything worse as the noise they made attracted more walkers to them and overran them before they worked out the whole 'destroy the brain' part as shown in Fear the Walking Dead. Other movies where the genre does exist in that world though... no excuses.

Came to say this, they had absolutely no idea what was happening or how it spread and in the beginning infection took quite a bit of time, it seems like it spread up as the virus evolved. But in the beginning it took time. That means that they brought their injured and possibly their dead back with them, putting them in the middle of the camps. Not great. And with them having absolutely nothing like zombies it’s reasonable that they didn’t realise that people were actually dead, they probably thought it was some kind of rabies or similar. Possibly curable. The walking dead makes sense simply because they have absolutely no concept of zombies. In other zombie movies it could be reasonable if they are fast and the infections takes hold super fast. Like in World war Z, they are really fast and strong and the infection is very easy to transmit and you turn in like 8 seconds.

this and we see in the end of season one that everyone has the virus. so if yo die for whatever reason you come back just takes a few hours. only you need is one person while in a safe zone and it spreads. have this happen a few times in farmlands or trade up and the country is going to collapse. have this happening all over the world at once you got no prayer.

In just about every single zombie film since George Romero's originals, what actually destroys the society is human conflict that's just kickstarted by the rise of the zombies. The human nature is the true culprit, not so much the zombies on their own. The Walking Dead has the collapse happen way too fast, though, and needs to jump through giant hoops to justify it. It should take months or years, with wars, civil wars, mass shortages, tyrannical martial laws and other crap in between before the society becomes too fragile to sustain itself any more. World War Z (the book, not the film) is the only source to get it remotely right.

No two MCU movies can come to an agreement about how magic works. In some movies it's pretty weak so that the non-magic heroes don't get overshadowed. Not exactly a plot hole so much as a very dark implication, in the 1st Pirates of the Caribbean, Will Turner's dad was chained to the bottom of the ocean after being cursed, so he's essentially isolated for 10+ years under the crushing weight of the ocean, most likely going absolutely crazy and unable to make it stop. And when the curse is finally lifted he practically just implodes offscreen before he even knew what was going on

Except he didn’t the sequel reveals he was found by the Flying Dutchman and joined his crew to escape his fate worse than death. Also it is implied he knew about the curse which is why he gave the gold coin to his son so the other pirates can’t break the curse.

The twilight one, jasper reacts to Bella because her blood is especially pleasing in scent and flavor. Also it kinda makes sense vampires can knock others up, I mean sure there supposed to be undead, but they are living in some captivity. There organs clearly work so why not that one. The only reason they didn’t know it was possible is presumably vampire women are sterile. There’s not many male vampires that sleep with human woman, and keep them alive long enough to know that it works. Bella is extremely bruised after, and Edward did his best to hold back, so generally they’d be killed by then even if accidental.

7:24 - There's an in-comics explanation for Ant-Man. Pym Particles create a "dimension shunt" to Kosmos - a extra-dimensional reality where mass is purely potential. With them, you can either affect density by decreasing the space between atoms, or you can shunt the additional mass to make yourself light. Same thing works in reverse: he can increase the space between his atoms AND "pull" additional mass from Kosmos to make himself huge and super strong. Kosmos is also the source of extradimensional mass that supplies other "growers" like the Hulk.

I think I've got the Beauty and the Beast one figured out. The curse could potentially have stopped all aging for those affected by it and the "21st birthday" was just a mis understanding after nearly 10 years being stuck in such a way. The prince was cursed on the night before he turns 21 and it would halt time on aging for 10 years. 10 years later and the prince technically turns 21 since he hasn't actually aged in that time

My problem with Pokémon is that when you learn about each new one, it gets addressed as a 'type'. Not a problem until you find 'cat' or 'dog' or 'other common animal you never see in the show because everything that isn't a human or robot is a Pokémon, and sometimes even robots are actually Pokémon. How do they know what a cat is if there are no cats around?!

Due to the horribly destructive nature of numerous Pokemon, I suspect civilization collapsed in the past and humans lost knowledge of these original animals; however, words such a "dog" and "cat" kept their meaning and were applied to the now dominant species of Monsters.

In regards to the little mermaid thing, there are two parts to it: 1) different languages exist, and I doubt the film makers would have wanted to come up with a whole Atlantican language for a scene or two, so they used English for simplicity (although, that is something they live action version does better by not having her write underwater) 2) Ariel makes her intentions for wanting to go to the surface very clear. Not once does she even mention that one guy she saved from drowning (or the man behind the statue she recovered). I don’t think she even realized they were the same person, possibly even after she got to know him. She’s not going up there for love, not in this version, that’s a stipulation Ursula comes up to trap Ariel (she’s not in any real hurry to find love once she’s up there).

I’m pretty sure every single issue with the Terminator movies and other serials is due to the series using single timeline theory instead of multiverse theory, so they’re stuck in a modified grandfather paradox. Instead of events repeating infinitely, erasing the previous loop, the first movie forced them into an infinite spiral that plays out differently based on what they send back in time. Tech will keep advancing every time it loops back around.

They actually fixed that plot hole in the live action Beauty and the Beast. They don't say the spell is permenant when he turns 21, just that it will happen when the last petal of the rose falls. Also the area around the castle is sort of frozen in time so the prince and other inhabitants aren't aging, which mitigates the potentially uncomfortable age gap that would come when Belle undoes the curse.

My own plot hole for my hope to be show that I want to take care of. My OC, who I'm calling Abdyl, is the second big bad of the series, being known as The Muno Killer. Muno is the island it all takes place on, and Abdyl is a serial killer that kills at least one person every month/few months. He has killed probably over 100-200 people, some of which are extremely important on the island, and yet he has only gotten "arrested" by his boyfriend, who is just working as an officer to keep Abdyl safe. The only time he gets truly detained is after the series is over- Also, in West Side Story, Tony and Maria knew each other for less then 2-3 days, and were planning to run away together, get married, and all that, like, dude, good thing Tony died before any of that would happen.

Basically, the entire plot of The Last Jedi. Luke's backstory, the really sucky strategy of the rebels trying to run away in one direction instead of multiple, the star fortresses and their vulnerability (meaning they have very little thought about the lives of the resistance members), the capital ship hyperspacing through the fleet, the fact that the Resistance didn't successfully overthrow Holdo, and Leia being on the side of Holdo. Oh, and Luke dying to what he did projecting himself, and the battle on the planet as a whole. The whole thing was a love letter to "how not to make a Star Wars movie."

Really we can extend that to the entire trilogy. Every time I see the First Order or Final Order pull a design that is more advanced than anything we seen before I ask myself "Where do they got all those wonderful toys". And their attempts to explain it raise more questions such as Starkiller Base being an Imperial Era project which raises the question how the Rebels didn't know about it (At the very least if it is Illum which it shouldn't be as Illum is a frozen tundra with no trees, Ahsoka, Luke or some other person close to the Jedi should find out about it and tell others about it), or why the wasted 20 years with the Death Star if they had something bigger waiting in the wings. It would be like if we already made a fully functional Pershing ICBM in World War II, but decided to use Fat Man anyways instead of that against Japan.

The Resistance doesn't know how the FO is tracking their ships. If they split up they could have one ship vs a fleet. Leia's plan was to get to Crait and sneak away. Holdo keeps to that plan. That is why Resistance leaders don't participate in the mutiny. The Holdo wsnt the plan either. She planned to hyperspace away, taking the FO wih her. The maneuver only works because of chance. She only thinks of it because during the mutiny, Poe entered hyperspace coordinates that were now directly behind the FO fleet. The FO is focused on the shuttles which allowed her to get in position. She also had to disable a lot of security protocols to even engage the hyprdrive. Hux is an incompetent leader and didn't raise any defenses.

They know from Finn how they were being tracked and the tracking is more reasonably not going to be able to track every single ship if they went to the hyperspace capable shuttles from the last movie and and jump in random directions. Plus they wouldn't know which ship would have the high ranking leaders they wanted. The plan was stupid to begin with as if the First Order had a more than two brain cells to rub together, they would either have half the fleet jump ahead and cut off the Resistance, or figure they were going for Crait as it is presumably the only inhabited planet in the system. And no she didn't seem to disable many security protocols and if she did it would bad ship design to have one person able to all of that. The fact she was able to do it with no bridge crew is also stupid what were they doing? standing around and looking busy?

@@emberfist8347 Actually, Rose is the one that figures out how they are tracking the ships. She tells Finn and he tells Poe. Poe doesn't tell Holdo or anyone else in command. Finn points out the other ships would be able to track them if the main tracker goes offline, or, if the fleet breaks up. As for jumping ahead, that wouldn't work due to the safety checks. They would just do what Holdo did and fly right through them, possible destroying themselves in the process. That also comes back to Hux being terrible at his job, something that is made clear even in the expanded universe. Hux is warned that the ship is moving but decides to ignore it. Just because you don't see Holdo doing stuff doesn't mean it didn't happen. We don't see every single button she pushed.

28 weeks later, they find a survivor who carries the virus but is imune to it and all they did was put her into a small room and no guard. I can accept them forgetting to set the access rights to the room so that a civilian might be able to get access, but not that there isn't at the very least a single soldier standing guard with orders to shoot anyone who tries to enter the room without proper hazmat gear and permission from the one in charge. Pandorum, the premise of the movie is that someone who comes out of cryo sleep is susceptible psychosis and someone on a ship on a century long journey to colonize a different planet got pandorum after they received a transmission from earth telling them that they are the last humans and that guy then messed the whole thing up. Now why would anyone on earth think it's a good idea to send a message, that could give even a healthy person a mental breakdown, to people who are already on the edge of going crazy. Also there were only three people awake to maintain the ship on the journey and a new team would switch in every two years. Only 3 people in isolation for two years doesn't sound like something very good for their mental health. Given that pandorum is a well documented condition it would make A) more sense to have a few more crew members awake at any point in time, if only because a single guy has a reasonable chance to take out the other two in his team if he goes psycho and B) have them wake up in sliding shifts, as in there are always people who were already awake for a while and might have already gotten over the aftereffects of cryo sleep, instead of a whole team of potential psychos waking up all at once.

My biggest problem was the remake of V. It basically involves the entire movie, which was the first episode. The cop notices a terrorist organization is ramping up. She investigates only to be thwarted by a spy. From this spy, she learns of a meeting. During this meeting, she learned that the leader of the terrorist organization was secretly an alien, yet it doesn't occur to her that the spy was at the very least working with the aliens and passed on information about the meeting. No, she merely stands there conversing with everyone while the aliens attack the meeting.

In the Stepford Wives things, the women are supposed to be cyborgs, an artificial body with a human brain that has a mind control chip attached. A slightly lighter version from the original story where the real women are just plain murdered and replaced with robotic duplicates. Terminator II: The timeline was altered and in the new timeline Skynet developed the T-1000 that didn't exist in the original timeline. V for Vendetta: V had the masks manufactured long before starting his terrorist campaign, when they were ordinary carnival masks, not terrorist symbols. And he had them delivered by hacking the mail service computers, like he had hacked all the government computer systems, and disguised them as regular deliveries. In authoritatian society people just do what they are told without asking questions that might draw attention from the authority figures.

Not sure if this qualifies, but there used to be a story online called "Attack of the Black Gang." The writing on this makes Stephanie Meyer look like Shakespeare in comparison. At the end of one chapter, the gang is in a nuclear reactor core and it's about to melt down, that's the end of the chapter. At the start of the next chapter, the gang inexplicably has escaped and the nuclear reactor blows up in a mushroom cloud. No explanation whatsoever about how the gang escaped, or how the nuclear reactor suddenly turned into a nuclear bomb and blew up in a mushroom cloud.

ANY fight where the flash spends more than 5 seconds max to send a suoer human into one of their pipeline jails is a plothole. Starkiller Base from The Force Awakens, namely the stupid laser cannon it has, which fires a beam that can not only travel across the galaxy so fast it can hit the target within minutes, but can also be seen by the naked eye on other planets, and somehow in mid-beam can split itself off into several smaller beams to hit multiple targets. And to add to this, they basically declare this single shot wiped out the entire New Republic, ignoring the fact that there are dozens, if not hundreds of populated worlds in the Republic, each with their own local governance and garrisons, and which include massive centers of population like Coruscant and Corellia but also centers of industry and military like Kuat or Sullust. But nope, somehow every warship and elected official was on or orbiting one of those planets and they all died, so that's it, game over. Of course, that's half expected when you read the backstories in the new continuity as they did the same with the Empire, who just threw everything into the battle of Jakku, lost, and gave up 1 year after the end of Return of the Jedi. What makes that all the more galling is how in the old Legends EU, the Empire stuck around; It continued fighting the New Republic for over 20 years after RotJ until a peace treaty was signed, which still left it intact as a major galactic power for the remaining 120 years that the Legends continuity covers.

I do believe it depends. That start to got adress during Platinum where SOMEONE at least got involve into the plot for address the badguys. Then, by far, the best one is both B/W and B2/W2 where everyone are involved with the plot as well, or doing stuffs who are outside related to the gym or also help against the team plasma (like Iris, Cheren and the dragon type leader in B2/W2). It was downplay after people complain about it and dumbed the game again in subsequent games. Flare is just rich people been dumb. Like Skull is just rejected guys and the real ones are the Aether, but the Aether only follow orders and complain why they are doing it. Yell is just Marnies fans and the real ones are Rose ... but Rose only want perpetual energy for his country. And finally Stars are just victims of bully who at least make sense in the context and they are all genuine good guys. And its really a set back for what the team plasma was in B/W and then how that duality between old plasma trying to genuinely help pokemons vs the new one following Ghettis orders.

In highschool I read a book series about a guy who had to travel to basically alternate worlds called "territories" where each of them were at a turning point that would either help or ruin their futures. The final one he visits is revealed to be one of the ones he visited earlier but in the future. It is also revealed that both worlds exists within in the same timeline. HOWEVER, it is revealed that the only reason the future world exists in the way it does is because he failed to save the earlier world when he went there. Meaning that had he succeeded and had everything go correctly the last world he went to would have not existed ever

Star Trek: First Contact. Zephram Cochrane's Phoenix (first Earth made warp drive ship) is launched atop a Titan ICBM. The "village" is almost right next to the launch sire. Thing is, Titan rocket fuel is extremely toxic: Cochrane just killed his whole village. Also, Gemini astronauts noted the Titan was very hard on the body, pulling 7g's of acceleration (Saturn 5 Max 4g's); Cochrane, Riker and LaForge look like they're sitting in their lounge room instead of in a high velocity missile.

The issues aren’t plot holes. The ship in the film was modeled on the Titan II but not meant to be a real Titan II as this set after World War III in the franchises timeline. And the fuel isn’t going poison people as a warp drive is stated to powered by a matter-anti-matter reaction. And the franchise has inertial dampening technology.

And the launch occurred in Bozeman, Montana, which is on the other side of the country from Tucson. And it was from an Air Force Base. So yeah it is not a plot hole. You are trying to apply facts that explicitly don’t apply to the Phoenix. Also hypergolic only means it instantly combusts not that it is toxic and you forget the little detail it was launched from a missile silo. You know with blast channels which means it doesn’t have any toxic byproducts by the time it leaves the silo kinda like ICBM launches are known to do. They are not as toxic as you exaggerate them to be.

Tomb Raider 2013. Near the beginning of the game, Lara finds her gal pal Sam hanging out with Matthias, a man who's been trapped on the island for years. Sam and Matthias start geeking out over the history of the island and Lara falls asleep. When Lara wakes up, Sam and Matthias are gone. It turns out that Matthias is the leader of the cult on the island, and he kidnapped Sam in an effort to find the perfect host for the demon queen that has cursed the island. Now it's up to Lara to save Sam. The problem I have with this story? If you go exploring, you'll find various documents with the disturbing lore of the game. Find enough of these documents and you'll start to realize that ships have been crashing on the island for years. After Matthias ended up on the island, he formed his cult and whenever a new ship crashed on the island, the men were given the choice to join the cult or die. The women, however, weren't given a choice. They were all forced into the ritual to see if the demon queen wanted her for a host. There are even standing orders with the cult members to bring all females to Matthias for the ritual. Lara basically fell asleep in Matthias's lap. While Lara was sleeping, he kidnapped Sam and just forgets about Lara. Why not kidnap Lara too?

Since we’re including video games, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Dual Destinies. The guy who killed Athena Cykes’ mother covered his face using a mask hanging on the wall and put on his victim’s jacket to trick a robot into thinking she was still alive. During the trial however, we learn he was actually a master of disguise able to SPONTANEOUSLY impersonate any character in the game on a whim. He just pulls off his rubber mask, and BAM he’s someone else! Gee, that seems like a handy skill to use when, I don’t know COMMITTING MURDER! Yet he doesn’t think to use this skill once during his crimes. God I hate that game, it’s littered with dumb moments like the suspect for a bombing being allowed to return to the crime scene with no police supervision.

There’s a plot hole in the new Mario Wonder game that’s actually really small but also really confusing: so at the end of each level there’s a little house where one of the residents of the Flower Kingdom (the game’s setting) lives, and that’s a major plot hole because there are houses in places they really shouldn’t be: up in the sky, in the middle of ancient ruins, and also *inside of Bowser Castle.* Like buddy, how and why did you build your house here?? #35 i don't know what the comic/book said, but I believe that scene of guy fawks mailing the masks was taken from another book "every man dies alone" where one of the protagonists left dissenting notes at different times and random places. So it's likely guy fawks also mailed them out in groups at different times. Also, in the movie it doesn't say that thousands were mailed out, and at the end the ppl in the crowd are those that died at the hands of the regime, not those random package recipients. The final scene was to show that guy fawks created this final performance for them, as he was a victim of tyranny and he lost his memories, other victims of tyranny were the only family he had.

In 'Men In Black II', the entire facility was under a lockdown, meaning nothing gets in and nothing gets out, so how do all of the alien criminals managed to get in and out of the facility whenever they pleased? Also, Charlie and Scrat were supposedly killed in Jeebs' place after Agent K managed to get his memories back, so how come they were constantly being mentioned throughout the rest of the film? This is giving me a headache.

The lockdown was because the villains were in control of the facility. The film shows they could have taken the elevator as that is how J & K enter to retake the HQ.

i dont really see that as a plot whole. he was royalty and from a young age he would be taught to represent himself in a dignified manner. and part of the tale is that he acted like a beast. not just saying go away (until the Christmas special). the other half is the sorcceres is basically a fay like creature. you look at them wrong and they will fuck you up. the fay/ Fay-like creatures act on different rules and logic. as for his parent not being there royalty. they don't watch their kids they have other do it for them. and since he was a beast of a child send him off to a secerte castle so he doesn't embarrass them.when finding out he is cursed the just ignore it. royalty does that. why does the village not no of the beast and the castle? they never knew about it in the first place. this is 15th world here. it take a few days to get to the next town over instead of an fews hours by car. the don't go off exploring and stick to the well trodden path. they staff? theylived at the castle and don't write home cause it wasn't as common as us twisting everything. For The Walking Dead it was established at the end of the 1st season that everyone is infected with the virus so when you die for whatever reason you come back as a zombie. so all the virous save areas are ticking time bombs. add in the fact that people don't know what's going on and choas and panic is happening. half that in farmlands and transport hubs and the country will collapse and people not getting proper meds. for the cloths I giving that to the heat and humited. unless you use to dressing in layer outside your going to bake. as for not wearing the guts again the comic did a better job explaining it. it makes a good cloack but not perfect. if you don't act right the zombies can hear you and just take a bite as a reaction. second wearing dead flesh isn't best for your health. its a risk of catching something and they did lose a few people just from cold and such. for V I see him doing what he did in the comics. he hacked the computer system and did thing slowly over time. he was been prepared for this for years for it all to come together. for limitless he was mart but also stupid was caught up in the high of having the rich life. and at the time the side effects of the drug where taking hold and he was loosing track of time and remembering what he did instead of living it.

In Beauty in the Beast, I cannot speak for the Beast's father but the Beast's mother has been fighting a war with another kingdom and has been kept away from the castle for more than ten years (actually since after the Prince was born). The other kingdom's king was manipulated by the witch to attack the kingdom. Also, in the original story, the Prince had known the witch since he was a child and the witch was grooming him into her future husband. The witch had cursed the Prince because he rejected her advancements, refusing to marry her because of how hideous she was. The Queen came back from the war temporarily soon after, saw what the witch had done, and banished her from the castle. She soon returned to war but never returned. After the curse was broken, and the Prince marries Bell, he joins his mother on the Battlefield and is quite the successful in war.
