I worked in a craft store that sold yarn, I knitted on the train to work so often would buy yarn at my workplace to show loyalty but needed to buy some from our main competitor for one project. The next day had a random bag check done by the store manager who asked where I got the yarn I was knitting with. Told her it was our competitor’s own brand and showed her the label. She sighed with relief before telling me never to bring any knitting into the store that was using our yarn because the owner was an AH who has accused staff of theft even when they had the receipts for the yarn they were using, then reported them to the police. Competitors got my money from then on. We had to wear all black, my petty self wore multicoloured striped socks as my stand against the man. LOL

Still waiting for YT to purge some of the other channels that absolutely do not do anything on camera. Why should they get away with it? Where is the justice? I have stopped watching those other channels. No guts, no glory.

We had a girl here years ago who dated the son of the owner of an ice cream franchise. She found out he was screwing around and didn't break up with him. During all that time he was screwing around, she volunteered to cover all kinds of extra shifts at the ice cream shop. She'd spend the entire shift flagging people down and offering them full sized 'free samples'. They folded not long after she finally got fed up and quit. It seems their sales took a major nose dive and they couldn't recover.

I brought pocket nachos into the movie theater once. Like nachos but you put them in a zip lock and shove the bag into cargo pants pockets along with sodas, candy, cheeseburgers, and even some leftover pot roast once. Soup is a bit of a gamble though I lost that battle when the bag inflated from the heat and popped when I sat down.

As someone who works for the government, it only technically costs tax payers to waste time/ money of various agencies. Everything is already budgeted out with allotment for variants based on the previous year's budget. If they go under, some overpaid useless member of management gets a bonus check. If they go over (which any department in charge of collections never do), then at the end of the year they stop ordering office supplies. Essentially, they won't be raising taxes anymore than they already intended to.

So, the NJ tolls to exit to NYC and Philly aren't NJ tolls. They're multi-state tolls. The reason they're one way is to avoid double billing, and the reason they're on the way out is because of congestion in traffic.

I'm in school rn So, we have lockers and they're combination locks. But those stupid locks made me late to class so it got replaced with a padlock. That pad lock had a key. To save more time I put the padlock and key in the locker. But my teacher said that "You need to have a lock". For background this school is a nice public school. When I not using the key it goes in my homeroom. So, I unlock my locker as usual and I have a padlock and the key in hand I put the key and lock where the key normally goes. Ha! Teacher. I say good morning at any time of day unless I’m going to bed (most of the time at least, sometimes in the morning I’ll say good night instead of bye to people), most people ignore it but some people comment on it and then I make sure to use it extra and never forget around them just for the reaction, lol, originally it was just because who actually keeps track of time and I like mornings because they’re a fresh start to a new day so it’s happy for me to say good morning, now its just a habit and for the reactions, lol

The facebook post one, i do pretty much the same with any and all ads on youtube flagged as inapropriate, the id in and of itself might not be inappropriate, but the amount of ads youtube forces down your throat sure as heck is. I wouldn't have adblocker on my pc if they kept ads reasonable (or atleast disable it on yt if they did something about the scam ads all over the platform) but instead of improving the quality of the site/app and making people not feel forced to use and adblocker they chose to reinforce wgy people started using them in the first place.

This. The world needs more people to do this, and I don't think its petty. I don't report all ads, but i'll report "get rich hustling", "make the universe love you and get everything you want", NGOs, religious propaganda; and everything I deem a scam. Also ads targeted on demographics like sex and age, the "find hot girls", "get ripped in 1 week", "the secret to lose weight" or cosmetic surgery and fertility clinic ads. I will also unsuscribe from channels, or downvote videos that sponsor this type of advertisement. I even go as far as to report videos for blatant fake miniatures and click-bait titles of the "you wont believe this incredibly photoshoped animal scientists just found". It is one thing for tv channels that actually produce the content they show to put up 5 minutes of ads in a 30 minute episode. But considering this is a platform where users do all the work of spending time and money creating the content, I find incredibly exploitive that the platforms cashes in their work and gives them back only peanuts. And that is if they make content that the platform and advertisers find pleasing and compliant, which ends up with the platform dictating the kind of content they want to get for free. Tons of no-effort copy paste videos, reactions and rehashed or sensationalist content get rewarded and are shoved down our throats, while anyone that aims to do something niche, artsy, passionate or simply different gets punished. Quite the opossite of a free, democratic or user controlled platform. Quite the opossite of a comunnity.

Some situations still require checks. For example, I live in Oklahoma where we have a weird system of vehicle tax collection. We have tag agents, which are for profit businesses that collect and register vehicles and collect sales tax for them for the state. You also have to go to a tag agency to get your drivers' license renewed if you need a new physical card. I went to a tag agent recently to change the address on my license because I have moved and wanted to register to vote. (US citizens, register to vote and then DO IT!) I had to pay a fee to do this, and the only way to do it was with cash or a check. Period. No debit or credit cards. I think the pawn shop next door might have some sort of kickback system with the tag agency because, if you don't bring a check and don't have enough cash to pay right then and do not want to start all over after you go away to get some cash ($38), you have to go to the pawn shop and use their atm for a $3 fee. I know the bank gets some of that as well as the contractor the supplies the machines, but most of fee goes to the business that houses the unit. Nice set up for everyone but the one needing tag agency services huh? The moral to this story is you might need a check occasionally. You might not have enough cash for some weird amount you weren't expecting, but a check can be variable so it can cover whatever you might need.

Second comment from me here. Here in Oklahoma, tolls were placed on highways that were built to connect certain places conveniently, like cities or large towns, . The way they sold this idea to the public was that. after enough tolls had been collected to pay for building the toll way, the tolls would be removed and the roads would then be free to use. Jokes on you, Oklahoma drivers. They never converted any of the toll ways, and you will have to pay in perpetuity.

Bruh sonic ice cream is AMAZING I would add extra onion rings and mozz when i was in the kitchen at Sonic, i used to give free sauce when i was a carhop, and usually id give extra toppings etc in icecream especially if i knew it was a kid.
