To me it's always been a Keefe thing and I think it was a move implemented initially by Dubas. Is there not a long list of examples of players who couldn't get a proper shot in regards to minutes and playing in certain spots. I think it was to keep players from becoming to "valuable" in terms of contract . I know we are stacked with the core 4 so it's hard to get those minutes but I think there is more to it

This was my thinking , which is sad because watch he gets traded gets minutes and becomes a 20 goal scorer and one of the backbones on another team. How can you judge a player that never gets quality chances to improve.

I like Robbie, but he's not beating out knies or bertuzzi for a top 6 spot and I don't think he's the right fit on the 3rd. Moving on from him is what's best for the team and the player.

Honestly was a promised talent i just dont think he has it in the NHL , too small too soft gets injured alot , kills it in the ahl but thats where it stays unfortunately , remember tj brennan ? Doing nothing now because he came up and got crushed

I feel like he is going to take a much longer window to develop than we have. Kinda think Cowan might crack the lineup over him next year. Also We are very low on assets. I’d definitely consider using him as a chip for the right piece

The problem is Keefe has runied the chances of trading Robertson or Timmins for anything worth while anymore. Keefe never plays them and if he did maybe they could actually see what they are but like this they are just a complete waste on the roster , if you trade them they are really worth nothing pretty much.

You are assuming that it is Robertson and Timmins that they want to trade. It may be someone who is playing now that will get traded. Then Robertson fits back into the lineup. Who knows.

@@Lee-f9w5v Check Keefe's record. Far from the worst coach. These are organization decisions. Not a coach's decision. If it is Domi or Holmberg that they are trying to trade, as an example, then they should be playing and they are. Never assume this kind of stuff.

@@Lee-f9w5v He has coached far more games where the team wins than loses. A coach does not put on skates during a game. It is on the backs of the players to perform. I have no issue with the coaching. The bottom line is that if he was a bad coach, he would have been fired long ago. Since the management knows far more than you do about it, we know that the fact he is still there must mean he is a good coach.Otherwise, you would be in a management role with the team . And you aren't.

Then scratch Marner he barely shows up and turns over the puck more then any other TML, then there is Brodie who is just sucking this year but still plays top pair no matter what.

They will regret this move however it is good for Nick. He is undervalued in Toronto especially when you consider the salary cap constrictions. The best trade for this team is Marner. I know....Matthews will sulk. So would you if you had someone feeding you puck after puck. That said, Marner is NOT a 2 way player. Look at the recently past high-lights and you'll see him floating all alone toward the opposition's end of the ice while there's an onslaught on the D/Samsonov!?! Combined with the Leaf defensive woes, Marner is going to cost them even more-so come play-off time when he virtually disappears which means, *YOU LOSE MATTHEWS too!! Marner would also open cap space BIG TIME. That means we could afford a big, fast, YOUNG, solid D-man.
