I currently work at a Massage Envy now which is awesome for seeing the pros and cons for a LMT first hand. I will most likely just work there as the already are planning for me to just transition into a therapist there, but will be moving across the country shortly after graduation! So I plan to do something more medical or chiropractic once I move but thankfully the state I will be living in seems to be higher wages compared to where I live now so the possibilities are endless!

People make it sound like you have to do a lot, they exaggerate and make it sound like you have to do more then what you want to do. Yes it's hard work, but what isn't. People say massage therapy isn't a long lasting career, 5 years at most, I am making it lifetime, this is what I want to do. I do not care if someone says something negative, that was their experience...... , I've doe landscaping, house moving, really shit jobs, It's gonna be something i'm gonna be really good at. And yes I know you have to learn lots, and it's not just about massage, there is a lot more to it, learning the different muscles and everything. I'm gonna work hard, and be commited to it.

I graduate from massage school in May and I will probably work at a franchise for a year maybe. Where do you want to work for the first year?

Hey Hannah! I’m planning on applying to a few RMT schools soon and was wondering if you had any advice on how to make my application stand out/things I can do to improve my chances of being accepted. A couple of the schools im applying to require 3 references, (from a health care professional, boss, and friend) a copy of a current resume, and an application essay. Thank you!

Hi @Melanie ! That's awesome! Although I did not have to write an essay for the admission process, I did some research - this is what I would have taken into consideration: The essay is the most logical place for you to tell the admissions committee something they do not know about you that was not communicated in the general information (Perhaps sharing why you are interested in becoming a massage therapist and what you plan to do with this wonderful career!) The best way to tell your story is to write a personal, thoughtful essay about something that has meaning for you. Be honest and genuine, and your unique qualities will shine through. Give your resume a pop of color, perhaps making your name and section titles stand out! Also google strong reference / resume power words! I hope this helps and best of luck to you!!! x Hannah
