I heard balls as well. I used to be a squirrel mom, where I would rescue them from hurricanes and raise them to a point where they would go to a rehabilitation and be re-homed. I used to make Protein Balls for them and bake them in the sun a couple days. Imagine my shock to hear protein balls rather than protein bowls. Lollll

You might like to know that the idea of "complete" and "incomplete" proteins was first published by Frances Moore Lappe, and she recanted after it was shown that the body maintains an amino acid pool, and that foods that might be missing amino acids do not need to be combined in one meal to make a "complete" protein. Also, soy beans and quinoa do contain all of the essential amino acids. Of course, this won't negate creative combinations. It just removes what is probably the most popular misconception about the need to combine plant foods.

I read the book Diet For A Small Planet and I'm familiar with that theory. Could you site the source or article about her change of position? That's news to me! TFS!

@@tiggywinkle7522 I believe the new information is in her New Diet for a Small Planet. I have no links, but you could search on her name. It was around 2006 when I learned of this.

Well, this is news to me. I read Frances Moore Lappe's book in college in 1970, and have kept her complete protein idea as gospel ever since. It's why I often eat peanut butter and cheese sandwiches! Well, never too old to learn something new!
