SWL may be suitable working load (in tonnes). SWD is also a term used which is the height of the cylindrical portion of the thickener body, starting from top of the overflow launder up-to bottom of the cylinder.

Yeah! You may be right! The one shown in this animation is used in Mineral/Coal Processing plants around the world. Also, this animation is a basic one, showing how thickeners work. There are advanced designs available too.

+dipesh ligal it can be called a sedimentation tank, but in the mineral processing plants it is used for recovering water also.
