I grew up with bob seger all through my high school years. so talented. my personal fav is "Lucifer" from 1970 - especially when paired with the vintage cartoon animation shown here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5TYdmiXbtFoj8U these are the lyrics (they are tough to comprehend from his vocal) ... [Verse 1] Cruisin' on the grey snakes till my dyin' day Checkin' all the hen houses out along the way Wastin' time and drinkin' wine Life is short and I ain't lyin' Livin' all I can through every day [Chorus] You can call me Lucifer If you think you should Now I know I'm good [Verse 2] Every night I'm barrelhousin' till the moon is low Shoutin' blues and payin' dues and throwin' way my dough Ramblin', gamblin', lovin', shovin', probably won't end up with nothin' But at least I'll reap the seeds I sow [Chorus] You can call me Lucifer If you think you should Now I know I'm good [Verse 3] Funky water farmers daughter gonna make the law Lucy Blue, Chicago Green, I'll love 'em till they thaw Courtin' all the lovely foxes, brunette, redheads, goldilocks Talkin' time to grind my crosscut saw [Chorus] You can call me Lucifer If you think you should Now I know I'm good

Momma is not gonna discus her "night moves" with ya Lex. This song is a favorite of old guys like me, because we've listened to it from both sides of the song's meanings. When we were young we applauded the night moves we recognized in "our story" and then --- when we got older we recognized the "woke last night to the sound of thunder" (our mortality) "how far off I sat and wondered" (definitely more days behind than in front of us) That "Bear Voice" is preachin'.

You can't go wrong with Bob Seger. His music was required listening in the late 70s early 80s in strip bars. This song is about an older man looking back on his memories while knowing he is in the autumn of his life. I am now in the winter of my life, but I remember being there and doing that. He's reminiscing about his teen years when he and a girl he knew were fooling around together. They weren't in love, they were just learning their "night moves". Bang buddies, so to speak. Now, it's 15 years later and he wakes to the sound of thunder and starts humming a song from back then. Bob was looking good for his age. Sounded like he did in the studio. I was strapped into all kinds of safety harnesses because I was up in the rafters running a spotlight during his show. I had seen him once before at the State Fair of Texas - Dallas. Was at the original show with my mom and her sister .
