Immigration benefits those already wealthy, and the migrants (foreigners) themselves. The very real costs of immigration are borne by the whole community, especially the younger and poorer members of it.

The bottom line is, they cost more than they contribute. $20 billion more in American taxes. I imagine there are poor American citizens that might could use some of that $.

I think the school system is the problem schools teach you these days other than academics that college is the only way to survive trade school is not an option on top of all things you have all these college movies glorifying college making it look like all you do in college is party so it makes it hard for trade schools to get more people to sign up for trade school there's no movies glorifying people to become welders and such

False dichotomy: either we have illegal immigrant labor or we don't have agriculture. Hmmm. I guess there is no wage at which Americans will do farm work? Yes produce would likely be more expensive but we'd get used to it. Besides, super cheap labor(ex: slavery) stifles technological innovation(ex: tractors). I will pay twice as much for a peach. Send them home!

@see ya Wow that’s a good idea! I know from experience, at least here in the South of the US, what happens is the laborers have visas, or whatever those things are, that constitutes “documentation”. At certain part they expire and if they don’t reup they’re officially “illegal immigrants”. Most people think that illegals get here over the fence. When really it’s through expired visas. That’s why I was against the border wall. The effects wouldn’t be worth the price. What we should do is maybe restrict visas. Definitely keeping better track of visas, and deporting some. There should be a grace period though or circumstance that would allow them to renew. We don’t punish the corporations that exploit illegal and even legal immigrant labor and that’s gotta change in a big way! A strict punishment for knowingly hiring illegals would go a long way. Employers should ask for documentation and make sure that they let them go once a certain amount of time passes. People won’t do it though because exploitation makes a lot of people money. The “right” people. They also won’t limit visas because the wealthy and elite go to Mexico all the time for hedonism, drugs, and debauchary.

What a bunch of BS. If I go out and rob a store, I will probably go to jail even if it is to feed my family and five kids. No I do not have five kids.. There is always an excuse to break the law. If you don't believe me go and sit in traffic court. However let us take a look at immigration. I can do this because my wife is from another country and as part of my job as a driver lic examiner I decided to learn another language. No it was not any of the Roman based languages. These people were coming into my office trying to speak my language so I decided to speak theirs. I had already learn a bit of Koine Greek so I gave their language a try. In re: of my experience with immigration it took roughly two yrs, going to her country $$, visiting her, filing various forms and paying fee $$, getting her stuff here, and getting her here. A couple of yrs ago we went back to immigration and she took a test which she passed. Then she went into a room with over 100 other people from over 80 different countries and 6 continents with them she became a citizen. Now if these people can go through the process of legally getting here why can we not require the rest to follow the law? I am not in the least bit sorry for those ho have come here illegally and spent 20 yrs paying taxes, so what you started your journey breaking the law, there are consequences for breaking the law. Let us say that in 1984 I murdered my ex. Finally after more than 40 yrs they catch up to me. The fact I have remarried and raised a son has nothing to do with the fact I broke the law and would face prosecution. The law is the law and without rule of law we face anarchy.

unlike the employers, i am willing to be honest. i do not want the immigrants here, legal or illegal, because i do not want to have to compete with them in the labor market. i can not compete with workers who live 8 people to a two bedroom apartment (some H1b computer programmers, for example) and live on beans and rice. i will admit that my reasons are selfish. i simply wish the employers would be as honest and admit they want cheap labor, and that there is no labor shortage, just a shortage of CHEAP labor. immigration is driving down wages to a subsistence level. the simple fact is that labor will not be treated well if labor is plentiful. labor will only be treated well when labor is scarce. as i said i simply want honesty. force the employers to be honest and say they would simply rather have immigrants because they are easier to abuse and work cheaper without complaining.

They aren't saying the whole truth. Migrant workers have been coming here for seasonal work for a long time...since after the depression. When the seasonal work was done , they went back to Mexico. As far as taxes, I know for a fact they are given an ID number that they use....they also collect on their children who live out of the country. Us tax payers have been footing the bill for all of this..even when they are on food stamps, housing, schooling, and yet our own homeless, elderly, vets, children suffer through it.
