In America, politicizing racism is the best way to keep people divided and is the strategy used by the elites to maintain power.

You’re talking to rocks and tree, branches for brains, saying the same thing and comments time after time will amount to nothing. Sadly, I see more closet racist people in these comments then enlighten people glad that fellow humans are on the same page. Leave the fools to their foolery and attain your wealth. Exactly. If you collect 100 black ants and 100 red ants and put them in a glass jar nothing will happen, but if you take the jar, shake it violently and leave it on the table, the ants will start killing each other. Reds believe that black is the enemy while black believes that red is the enemy when the real enemy is the person who shook the jar.

I was taken back by this and asked him what makes him think that??? He said "I dont know... just little every day stuff. like a black girl bumped into me and said "eww, a white boy"..." yall..... i am so heart broken .... and not just for my son.... but for everyone who believes it or feels that way. Jesus, that ideology is what led to the civil war but it was in a vice versa stance at the time. How have people as a whole not come to entirely acknowledge that no matter who you are or what anyone looks like this is never the correct way to judge anyone??? Sickens me that public schools are such strong examples of how racism isn't dead but alas evolving and changing to hurt everyone anymore.

I’m a younger white man who grew up in poverty and only recently started to live in relative comfort, the amount of people who have called me privileged and ostracized me because of my race and gender is astonishing, and for years of my life I gaslit myself into believing I was inferior to everyone else because I was white. It started when I was 6, and grew up until I was 13 and started to realize that In the end race means basically nothing. I’m 15 now and this video helped me recover from my internalized self hate a little bit. Thanks for reading my ramble and to anyone reading this part I hope you have a good day/night

I spent way to long staring at your comment with a mix anger/hurt and my logical side saying you couldn't know and there is no way it's your fault. I also went to school in the 80s/90s and moved to SO Cal in 89' to a school where there were 5 black kids in my class, me the one white kid, and the rest were Mexican. Every day I was called names, I'd get jumped before/after school, they'd steal my backpack and throw it in the trash bin, force me to go in after it so they could call me a white trash picker, they shattered my cats jaw by hitting him with a skateboard, I was suicidal through most of my early teens till I eventually dropped out and left home at 16 to live with a 25yo man just to get away from it all. It wasn't the black children that did it, it was the Mexican children. I'm only saying this so you know it's been that way and at your same timeframe. I'm sure location and being a minority were factors but it did happen. When I had first moved there I was stupidly optimistic and excited to learn about Mexican culture and stuff, and by the end I ended up with a deep mistrust of Mexicans that lasted into my 20s.

I'm white, blond and blue eyed and grew up in the 80s and 90s and we never had any issues with racism or predudices back then. When I was a teen everyone had their own style weather it be hip hop, punk, goth, grunge, heavy metal fans, skater boys etc but everyone hung out together and had fun. The amount of victim mentality and ignorance in today's society is insane. Young people seem to scream racism or transphobia etc everytime their entitled ass is not the center of the universe. Back in the days we knew we had to work hard to achieve our goals and being kind to people no matter what their style, color, nationality or gender - was the way to go about life. Why are people so damn obsessed about creating divisions? What's that all about????

@Time Travelling Prototype, We still need to call such people what they are (racists) no matter how much universities and “activists” in the past half a decade have tried to change the definition of racism to fit their agenda from what it previously was since the beginning of its creation that they’ve now assigned as to a much milder term and definition “prejudice”, which again, was not the original definition or separate. Calling such bad people “assholes” is putting it nicely.

I didn't think to myself, whats up with my White privilege? Why can't we afford these things? We just hung out and it was what it was. But with the current narrative, I couldn't imagine the racial tension in high school these days...

@AZ-su1zg Жыл бұрын
White privilege means you have an invisible backpack pf resources that not everyone else gets. It doesn’t matter if you’re poor. You’re still viewed as a more trustworthy sbd more important person in society. You’re used to seeing white peoples in your dream job. You’re a blank snare, little to no stereotypes. The only thing poor white communities and (poor and wealthy) black communities is police brutality. In the court system though you’ll still get a mess sentencing unless the hypothetical black person Im comparing you to in this hypothetical situation, is significantly more attractive than you. And that’s in the face of Eurocentric beauty standards too. Black people almost always will receive a higher sentencing in the court system versus white peoples for the same crime/similar type of defendant/similar background. The only time black people might get a lower sentencing is usually due to conventionalatttactivehess. Race and attractiveness play a huge role in sentencing. It’s about who is generally trustworthy in public narratives. White people and attractive people.

Obama certainly didn't help matters with his speeches over these issues and I feel alot of politicians did the same and more and more people started blaming each other. Well that’s a slippery slope cause if they got repercussions for saying that does that mean we should accept and not care when someone gets repercussions for jokes? When it comes to getting repercussions for saying words just replace this instance w movies, music, comedy, podcasts, and whether or not it infringes on freedom of expression whether you agree w it or not. Bc I don’t agree w what they’re saying. But there’s this freedom of speech game that’s constantly played and on both sides the idea of freedom of speech has a lot of “freedom of speech unless it’s something I don’t agree w or doesn’t fall in my morals.” Imo talk all the shit you want. That is the trouble with the USA, they created their own echo chamber that reaches all of the world, but yet they have very poor knowledge of the past of other countries. Slaves were not ONLY black people. At one point in time every nationallity and race were slaves somewhere. Genocides were made by all skin colours and nations. Hold on a minute...which of your ancestors exactly? The Irish were one of the biggest colonisers and slave owners. They colonised Scotland and tried to enslave and entire country. When they got slapped around they moved on to other places. The idea that the Irish were slaves is absolute fabrication. The Irish HAD slaves. The hate for Irish people in the US was simply a personal dislike by other colonisers. The reason why? Because the Irish were dicks long before the colonisation of the US. At no point were they slaves. Not even to the English. That was the Scots and Welsh (mainlanders). It's been debunked time and time again that Irish slaves existed. Stop the narrative.

There is a problem with social media exploding opinions all over the place. Everyone has a platform to speak, and rouse the affections of people who desire to be a part of something without doing the research to fact check these opinions (virtue signaling). It's just social McCarthyism, the witch hunt of the day - racism against straight cis-gendered whites. Human beings, like everything in nature, have the need to respond to every action with an equally forceful reaction. Liberal social consciousness is political first and foremost. And politics survive by finance. These are people parroting the outrage of dead and dying people that can not or will not speak for themselves, ultimately to validate the existence of their office for financial gain. Yet they place the blame at the feet of, not just other dead and dying people, but also at the feet of their children and grandchildren. It's easy to place blame in a high seat in Congress and virtue signal all over social media. It is difficult to go to ground zero and actually do the work that affects change. It is difficult to pass legislation for those who experienced Jim Crow first hand, before they pass on. All of this rabble rousing by people who use the pain of the people for political gain will do nothing but incite another Civil War due to a multitude of strong opinions. Remember this, DJ: Politicians create civil unrest for the purpose of validating their station. Emotion gets votes without having to do any actual work to affect change. Meanwhile your brothers and sisters of various races and cultures are too busy arguing over the scraps of their legislation to notice the two parties shaking hands behind closed doors. Peace and blessings 🙏🏾

And I agree that watching black people at stores extra hard is wrong but it is true that black people are convicted of shoplifting, theft, armed robbery, and breaking n entering more than any other race. But that’s not a race thing, it’s just an socio economic thing. Black people aren’t inherently bad and most everyone believes that. White people arent inherently bad but most people see white people as bad people without even talking to them. Im a 40 year old Irishman and I have never felt unease around anyone of a different race until the last 5 years or so. There has definitely been a shift away from the feeling of equality that was more prevalent in the 2000’s to 2010’s. Now we are told that we are evil for just existing. I’m apparently a coloniser because I’m white, never mind the fact that Ireland itself was colonised. My father is Scottish and I live there now, again, oppressed and colonised over and over by the English - but I’m told that I’m part of some imagined problem every time I open X. All my life I’ve been left leaning, in the last few years I’ve been pushed more to the centre - not due to anything to do with race or immigration, but on certain topics I’m called far right and Nazi by the far left. Anything slightly right of the extreme woke, left, liberal, whatever you want to call it, is called Nazi, even if it’s still left of centre. So in essence I’m a white man, so I’m a coloniser, evil, racist Nazi. Even though my own ancestral countries were colonised and I’m still left of centre. It brings me down, it’s depressing, it makes me feel alienated from the rest of the world, not welcome in the spaces that I used to frequent and find joy, happiness and friendship in.

People might think this is only happening in media and stuff, but I have been experiencing racial hatred since high school. One of the first interactions I had with a black person (outside of my family) was a friend of my friend and she would only refer to me as "little racist white girl" and assumed my family to be racist because I lived in the country and wasn't a city dweller. Our first interaction went somewhat like this, "HI, I am ----! Nice to meet you." And she responded with, "Yeah, a little racist white girl from the country," with no hesitation at all. During my time in university, in my creative writing class, I wrote a poem about my favorite cousin who happens to be mixed-black. My extremely liberal professor and other students in the class called me out for being racist. Saying I only favored him because of his skin color. I dropped that class because of that situation. Everything in the poem got thrown out when I explained his features and that was what labeled me. I asked my brother who is mixed (caucasian and island Indian) and my cousin who is mixed (caucasian and black) and they saw nothing wrong with my poem. In my first year of college, a girl told me that I wasn't allowed to wear braids (I was wearing a French braid during this interaction) because I was white. That braids were a black American and African style and I shouldn't be stealing from other cultures. Two naive black guys called me a "Racist white bitch" because they were trying to get a dog's attention in the college library. The dog is a service dog and the service dog owner looked extremely uncomfortable. They were in one of my classes, so I knew they suffered from a list of things, especially major anxiety, and antisocial personality. I decided to intervene, politely saying "You shouldn't bother service dogs when they are working," and I received negative behavior. I think they were embarrassed for not completely understanding what a service dog was and when they were confronted they didn't know how to handle it. A few semesters ago, I met a slightly younger guy who was in charge of the black American group at my university. He was the president. He would speak about how he thinks schools should be segregated to give blacks leeway to opportunities and so on. He believed this was an answer for opportunities in school because he was glad that he barely had any white people in his school growing up because they would have stole opportunities from him otherwise. He actually fought and won for there to be only black people and minorities safe places on campus where white people were not allowed to be at all (no entry for whites or whites not allowed on the sign). He was the leader of 3 clubs and all of those clubs did not allow white people to be a part of them. These stories were not to support a narrative of us versus them or individually an I versus them narrative. These stories are to show when you are raised without knowledge of certain things and jump to assumptions, divides can happen. For example, that creative writing class with a poem. There were no black students or other students of color in that class. Everyone was white. I was the only one that had a family that was non-white. My cousin is mixed and is marrying a woman from Africa. My cousin is Caucasian and his children are mixed Latinos. My other cousin is engaged to a woman from the Philippines. My other cousin has married an Asian American. My brother is mixed of Caucasian and island Indian (his grandmother on his father's side is Jamaican and lives on the islands). I grew up in a decently diverse family that showed everyone positivity and love no matter their skin color, background, or social class. I was raised that we are all human. We all make mistakes. We all bleed. We all have emotions. It's odd to see how some people rip humanity out of others based on skin color or gender. Out of things they could not control.

Find a husband with a good heart, show him what love means, raise beautiful children. You will find peace in this. Unfortunately things are going to get worse before they get better, there's a coming pendulum swing that will foster a slightly less extreme white identitarian movement. Best to pick a white husband in case things get bad, as when it happens it will be sudden. Wish you well from rural Australia, we're facing the same **** over here but with Aboriginals and indian / Chinese immigrants at our universities.

First line gonna say, "lived in the country and wasn't a city dweller" in my opinion, CITIES are the problem with racism. Racism, criminal activity, selfishness, all these things seem to be more prominent in cities. Financial issues tend to be even bigger in cities as well, with most political ideas being represented by the cities. I live in New York State. I feel like nothing I say here matters because the city is so huge and they know their way of life and how they're treated there, but they don't think much of how vastly different people can act as well as their needs are depending on their location. I live in a small town, and this place was very safe until people from the city moved here during the pandemic, then we even had a bomb issue. I can't walk outside at night anymore. It's the social environments being held in the cities that seem to be the biggest issues. (Of course there are issues with some places in countries too, but I do feel that cities play a big role as well)

Perhaps you have never insulted or excluded anyone based on colour, but have you ever bothered to learn colonial history? Have you bothered to listen to people of different ethnic communities share their struggles? Have you protested with minorities to support their rights? What most white people entirely fail to understand is that they think not being a racist asshole means "I'm a good person". When you grow up and live in a society that revolves around white culture, white history, white controlled governments and media, you don't learn about the history and culture that has been erased. You remain ignorant and uneducated. You inadvertently harm the BIPOC around you with this ignorance and have no understanding of why. You still uphold systems that oppress minorities and don't help fight it. You don't use your position in society to raise your voice to the oppressors. How does that make you a good person? The world we live in is horribly unfair and unjust. Silence and ignoring problems is not a marker of a good person.

Hatred isn't taught, it's learned. We shove love and tolerance down kids' throats their entire lives, yet by the time they reach middle age, plenty of them have simply become fed up with pretending that equality of races is anything other than a polite fiction made up by white people to be nice. The best way to make people hate immigrants is to keep importing them.

Same, I grew up where I was the minority and being white was not something the other kids found acceptable. They made that very clear. They insulted and harassed the white girls, implying were honour less cheap pr*stitutes. The white boys were seen as weak and beaten up and robbed all the time. We were seen and treated as inferior. Despite being an ethnic native in my country, I was treated like I had no right to live here. They saw the area as theirs. And still do.

I always thought if I didn't have some color dna I had no good past, no culture other than brutality etc. I see people of color daily that make comments that would have me ruined. Stop the "I don't see color" thing, I'm not saying treat anyone bad but White people need to learn again to have some sort of community sense like every other ra ce of people in the world do though. The Irish Catholics were not "indentured servants". History records that they were the first to be brought to America in chains, and sold as property. They arrived in ships 10 years before any ship arrived from Africa with Africans. The same ships, the same chains. When African slaves started arriving, the traders then released a lot of the Irish slaves, but they then became indentured servants with very little opportunities to improve their lives, and were considered second class citizens at best. That attitude prevails in the Protestant dominated America even today regarding Catholics. When John F. Kennedy was running for President, many cried that having an Irish Catholic President would be the end of America. The same type of people years later said the same about Obama. We know intolerance. We know hatred.

I'm white passing, which essentially means I am white. I say that, to give context to this statement. If you don't think you have white privilege, you are mistaken about what white privilege is. You may have suffered immeasurably throughout your life, but you endured that suffering while being white. Which meant you were more likely to get a loan, get a job, get a warning when and if you got pulled over. You were not automatically a suspect in every crime that some other random white person committed in your neighborhood. You were not assumed to be armed and combative when interacting with police. You were less likely to face maximum sentencing if you were found guilty of a crime. You were less likely to be stopped and frisked. You were not subject to laws against congregating in groups in public (yes, such laws exist) doing perfectly legal activities. While all of the "more likely" and "less likely" doesn't mean you would never be subject to any of those things, the fact remains that statistically, you would have been more likely to have a positive experience than a person of color. It doesn't take away from what you've endured to acknowledge that simply being white does indeed confer a privilege in America.

@@NaptownClassic I would argue the idea of white privilege is inherently racist. You are essentially saying it is superior to be white as you would have an advantage based upon your skin color. That is what racism is, the belief that someone of a certain ethnicity is superior to another.

I have never and will never have prejudice against anyone for their race, but I have noticed in schools that there is a privilege given to anyone not white or male. My mate had to go to an alternative school for a week because a girl not only shamed him for being white, but then made fun of him for his weight (he went on a cut for 3-4 months and had an insane routine and lost no weight. which basically sums up to the fact that he can't lose weight.) He responded with a joke that she thought was supposed to be racist. She admitted to bullying him about his weight, color, height, as well as spreading rumors about his girl for over a year. She ended up with 1 hour of detention. He was almost kicked out, when he asked for them to not contact his parents (they beat him frequently) they ignored him. (He was white and she's black.)

When you are saying "I don't know about power" I think the best example of the fact that minorities DO have more power is the fact minorities have the ability to speak out against things and actually be heard. It's happening right in front of you; if I, a white man, said all of the stuff Cheon just did, it would likely be buried and many whites will say "thanks, but no one will care." and others would just deem me a racist in some form or fashion. However, when a minority says it, it suddenly has weight. A LOT of weight. Case in point again, the fact that Cheon is saying it, people are listening and white people are thanking him profusely for standing up for them because we aren't allowed to stand up for ourselves. Look in your very comments section, white people are thanking you guys left and right for standing up for us. That includes me - thank you so much! You guys and Cheon will be heard while we will not. That is indeed power that you have that we simply don't.

Let me ask, did your family ask permission of the Natives to move here? Colonizing is just having people from one country settle on land in another country usually by displacing another group. You're complicit in the takeover. And I am not some wokey. I just cannot swallow the whole "my people weren't around back then" narrative. Maybe not but they don't mind benefitting from the current situation. At least we were born into this circumstance. Immigrants say "colonizer" to us as they unpack their boxes. My very blonde white daughter was 1 of 3 white kids who went to the school her brother was another one of the 3. She was bullied and treated terribly but the school didn't do anything because she was white. She came home in tears and begging to color her hair because she didn't like it anymore because she was bullied. She was 5 when this started. Schools are also teaching white kids that we are inherently evil because they are white. This is why I pulled my kids out of school and started homeschooling them. It's the reality of the situation. I shouldnt be made to feel bad because of something my distant ancestors might or might not have done. Can't we just get to know the person underneath?

Racism is not limited to one type of person, and nobody fits a stereotype 100% Edit: my comment blew up... it's fun to read through the comments even though most of you guys don't know proper grammar! Pop off I guess... Edit part 2: but no in all actuality, I'm really happy that people are getting up willing to have conversations like this. @@tarrantwolf how is it racist to say that anyone who discriminates against another person based on race is racist? That is the definition of racism. If you discriminate against someone because they're black, you're racist, if you discriminate against them because they are Asian, you're racist, and if you discriminate against them because they are white... you're racist. Thinking that it doesn't apply to white people doesn't even make sense. Do you think that white people don't have feelings? Do you think that white children should be taught that they are bad because they are white? That's a lot of negative pressure put on these children to take on the guilt of their ancestors for things that they would never do themselves. And most of them weren't even involved in slavery or anything like that. My parents came to Canada the year before I was born but I've been taught to feel guilty because some British colonies in the United States had slaves over a hundred years ago... and they were white, and I'm also white, so I'm guilty too. Should all black people feel guilty because of the Rwandan genocide? It was black people who participated in that, so regardless of which African country they came from or if they grew up in America, should they be held responsible for it on the basis of skin colour? Of course not. Even the direct descendants of those people should not be held accountable for what their parents did. We are all created equal in the image of God and are all equally loved by him. We all have a common ancestor and are just very very distant cousins who adapted differently to our environments and that effected our skin colour. That's all.

In the last 10 years, I have been screamed at at work, my professional license has been threatened and women and men of color have created a hostile environment. Is it motivated by race? Yes. I was told that my presence is offensive, that Ian responsible for the enslaved blacks. (Even though my ancestors immigrated to the US after the civil war.). My daughter tells me it’s because of my white privilege that I am unable to understand where these folk are coming from. But I remember when, in my lifetime, that people were not judged by their race and most people worked together to stamp out the racism that was there.

At this school, I experienced hatred from other kids because my skin was white. My own siblings and cousins would poke fun and repremand me for being white. This followed me through multiple schools and multiple states. As you could imagine, I developed tough skin and accepted that this was the way life would be. I am afraid for my son who's mother is mexican and puertorican, but inherited my white skin, blonde hair, and colored eyes. His extended family have already made fun of his skin color. As a child of 7, I went to visit the family of the person my mother was dating who happened to be black. My main concern going in was if I'd like their food because I was taught that you have to eat the food served when you are a guest as a matter of politeness, and you had to pretend to like it it even if you didn't, so I was hoping it would be stuff that I liked. (and turned out it was) But when i got there, I was sat at the dinner table and grilled by 6 or 7 black adults about my whiteness and then finally the mother of the family announced that I was OK "for a white person." I guess they thought this behavior was fine because others had done it to them but that just makes you as bad as those others. Then they started acting more friendly after the mother declared I was acceptable but now I was feeling a bit peeved and confused ironically so I was quiet after that and was just waiting to GTFO. That was my introduction to racism. I'm not going to pretend it was the trauma of a lifetime because it wasn't and I'm sure everyone has some story about the first time someone was clearly racist to them, but it did ironically mark the end of my naivete and the start of me being more reserved around black people with the knowledge that they may already not like me and be judging me for my race. Before that I had only thought people had different cultures with diff food and habits but I had not thought there would be any more to it, a kid does not understand such things. Since then I've met people of many other races that were prejudiced against various races, there is no race that does not do it, it's a human thing that splits us and causes pain to many across the board, some more than others obviously, but it always does damage and is never OK.

If a group has the ability to have 'BIPOC ONLY' events then it is a display of POWER. If a group has the ability to influence college admission policies then that group has POWER. You can try to parse words all you want, but having the ability to actually dictate reality on the ground is POWER. Have a nice day and thanks for your interesting reaction videos.

I have a very close friend who I worked side by side for several years. At a "power plant" a position for a full time job was coming up and a well deserved white man who had the experience and 20 years seniority was overlooked and let go because my black friend bragged to me and said I played my "ace" card to take his job. I was so disappointed in my friend and just because I said that he was wrong for doing that he no longer will speak to me. I appreciate what you guys are doing by having this conversation and bringing some attention to it.

RACE/ACE CARD >>> “There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs - partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” ― Booker T. Washington

The British Empire sacrificed thousands of white soldiers and sailors in the fight to end the slave trade, this is often forgotten, it doesnt undo all the wrongs but it was a massive step in the right direction. So many black soldiers died fighting for England, Europe, And The US in a hope of a better future. I wish we could do all those men and women justice by just getting along instead of just continuing the same cycles over and over again.

Im white and all of the African people ive met in America have been unbelievably humble and kind. Im sorry for racism where it exists but it is a real thing on all fronts. In my mind the best way to combat racism is to be the version you can and show extenuating love to those outside of your race and give vocal credit to those that overcome evil with good. We all have the ability, just gotta make the effort and harbor forgiveness for the ignorant. The wise man doesnt get in the mud with the foolish. If we hold ourselves to a higher regard thats how you lead! Much love my friend and may The ALMIGHTY bless your walk

I had this happen about a year ago to me, I was out with some friends, about 10 of us in a group, three of us were white, At the next table over were a group of people who were talking about us and calling us names being very loud, most people in the place were looking over and this other group just kept the insults coming. After about 20 minutes I finally told one of my black friends that were were going to leave so we didn't have to listen to this, he completely understood and even apologized for what the other group of people were saying. I told him it wasn't his fault and proceeded to get up and leave. As we were walking out, this other group started to call us "Racist A$$h0!e$ who thought we were too good to sit there with them" We were basically being told that if we didn't sit there and take what they were saying about us that we were racist.

I’m bi-racial and both of my parents have been discriminated against (and I’m only counting what happened in my presence as a child). It’s sad that nowadays you have to remind people you can’t blame a whole race for the actions of individuals. There ARE hateful people out there (my dad was spit on for being with my mom when we were at Disneyland) but many more have love in their hearts. We shouldn’t take a coal of hate and use it to retaliate by using it to burn down innocent masses. There are good people in every race.

it is sad that people have to be reminded. People also like to ask the one or 2 black people in the room their opinions on racial issues....like they are speaking for an entire race. And its the same with Black people asking their white friend or friends the same kind of questions. Just like none of us want the Brits thinking that one loud mouth American tourist speaks for everyone in America lol

"All these people saying something are women." Great observation and another topic for discussion. It's not only race, but women are being led to believe that we're victims based on our gender. Put them both together and you've got some real militant feminist energy going on. People have to stop believing the lies being fed to us and think for yourselves as you guys are doing. Love your music reactions. That's why I first subscribed. I'm really enjoying this deeper dialogue. Great work, guys!
