That was funny. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm hoping that more African-Americans have realized that O.J. was guilty -- and that he should have been judged not by the color of his skin but by the content of his evil, sociopathic character. The murder case was not about race at all until his defense team made it about race with the LAPD and Mark Fuhrman. Completely irrelevant. That case was about domestic violence that escalated until it became deadly. To quote Steve Harvey (who was ahead of his time in 1995), "This ain't about race! O.J. ain't been black since he won that Heisman Trophy!"
@danieldougan26910 жыл бұрын
Jovon devinci That's ridiculous. You're comparing a millionaire celebrity athlete who was almost universally beloved and had a long history of beating the shit out of the victim with people who were lynched by the Klan? And, oh by the way, OJ had tons of money to spend on defense lawyers and "expert witnesses." So I guess no black person is ever guilty of any crime? They've ALL been set up by the police? The police just go around planting blood all the time to frame black people for murder? I know the LAPD did some bad things, and sometimes the cops got away with it, but nothing on the scale of what OJ's lawyers accused them of.
@michellekl269 жыл бұрын
Daniel Dougan "They've ALL been set up by the police? The police just go around planting blood all the time to frame black people for murder? I know the LAPD did some bad things, and sometimes the cops got away with it, but nothing on the scale of what OJ's lawyers accused them of." We just had two incidents that showed police planting evidence and a couple more where the person was released because the cops flat out lied. All of these people were black. In 2014, six people were released from death row on murder charges because they were exonerated by evidence. All of them were black males. This number does not include the over 100 people who were freed of other charges with the bulk of these people being black. Last week a man was released from prison after having served 30 years on death row after they finally got around to testing the gun and found out that the gun used in the murder did not belong to the guy they locked up. He was also black. Then there was the black man, who 20/20 did a story on, who had served 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. The central park 5. The list goes on and on and on, all across the country. It's not that it isn't on the scale of what OJ's lawyers accused them of. It's that the people who believe the way that you do don't care enough to find out the truth.
@danieldougan86139 жыл бұрын
michelle sweet Well, somebody murdered Ron and Nicole. All of the evidence points to OJ. All of it. Are there racial imbalances in the justice system? Yes, there are. It's a serious problem. But this case was not one of them, except for the fact that OJ was acquitted.
@michellekl269 жыл бұрын
Daniel Dougan All of the evidence pointed to the central park 5 being guilty. The problem was that the "evidence" they had was a coerced confession from scared teenagers who were interrogated for hours on end without their parents knowledge or permission. That is why you can not just solely look at evidence. You must also have testimony which is used to validate/invalidate the evidence.This is ALSO why people involved with these cases have procedures and protocols that they must follow to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Lastly, you say that this case was not one of them, well I would like to see you say that when you or one of your family members have to stand trial for a murder and the person in charge of collecting/processing the evidence, fails to follow proper protocols AND hates your guts.
@danieldougan2699 жыл бұрын
michelle sweet Almost everyone -- white, black, or otherwise -- loved OJ before 6/12/94. There's plenty of non-forensic evidence that nails OJ too. He had a chance to tell his story on the witness stand in the civil trial, and he got caught in lie after lie after lie. He kept changing his story to the police. Kato Kaelin said OJ tried to get him to say that their trip to McDonald's was later than it was. OJ had a history of beating and stalking Nicole. She feared for her life because of him. His behavior on 6/17/94 was not something an innocent person would do. Many of his closest friends of all colors, who defended him at first, now acknowledge that he's obviously guilty.
