“What Are WE Going To Do?” Julia Hartley-Brewer Clashes With Meteorologist After UK Had Hottest June

Last month was the hottest June on record in Britain, the Met Office said on Monday.
The average mean temperature of 15.8C in June was the highest in a series going back almost 140 years, beating a previous record of 14.9°C set in 1940 and 1976.
TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer clashes with meteorologist and author of Weather or Not? Jim Dale over the record.
Jim: “The sustained heat made it 0.9 degrees. Small does count.”
Julia: “What are we going to do!”

I remember 1976. Back then we were all going to die. I'm now 67 and will die someday soon, but not because of climate change. Plus in that time I have had, I have listen to meteorologists trying to predict the weather tomorrow and consistently getting it wrong. A farmer lifting a cows udder and saying it will rain is more accurate than these fear mongers.

@@peterrauth118 Thanks for the lecture. I was an Oceanographer by trade. But you are missing the point. The question isn't if humans are impacting the Earth, every living thing is, including non-living things such as volcanoes. The question is are we - as a result of our actions - all going to die in the next few years as predicted by people like this chap. Don’t confuse climate change with weather. They are both very complex subjects that are related but operate separately. It’s important to remember that there are no such thing as experts - it’s a human construct, there are only people with greater knowledge on a given subject than others. And yet the greatest minds have been proved wrong time and time again. Academia is littered with ruined careers of those who thought they knew best and for every so called expert there is another will equal skills countering the arguments. So to push this argument, keep out the extremists and let the knowledgeable (whoever they may be), make sound judgements about the true situation. Greta and her mates, and people like this man just build resistance to the cause rather than convince the rest of us. And... when they claim that most of the Worlds experts say we are destroying the planet, remember they are not experts of the planet nor its climates, they are just academics claiming to be experts and waiting for their careers to fail. Many of them are funded by companies making a killing out of green taxes and businesses.

One good thing about the climate change activism is that I, and I suspect many others, are prepared to actually do our own research rather than just accept dogmatic ideologies from people that refuse to rationally discuss the issue. For instance, I would never have known that geological studies into ice cores and rock strata are categorically showing that the Earth's climate cycles between extremes, over periods of tens of thousands of years. And that the current climate in what is called Europe, is positioned towards the bottom of one of these periods of cycling! To put it bluntly, we are cooler than we should be, based on the geological data. Now isn't that curious! And why is it that this research is not receiving the exposure it warrants? Oh, I think we can all work that one out.

Obviously the Suns changing activity and solar cycles have the biggest effect on climate change by an extremely long way. Dec 1 2022 to Jun 25 2023 is averaging 43% more sun spots per day than the corresponding period in the last solar cycle 11 years ago. The next solar maximum (the most sun spots and energy given out by the sun) is predicted to climax in 2025. The climate alarmists will be going apoplectic over the next few years but will fail to factor this in.

True- climates do vary over long periods of time- Milankovitch cycles are one of the reasons. The major difference now is the speed of the change. We are seeing changes over decades, not tens of thousands of years. We are in an interglacial period at the moment where we should expect warmer average temperatures, but the rate of warming and the consequences of that warming are what is worrying.

Months on their own cannot be taken as indicative of anything, so I'm shocked that this man is termed a meteorologist. It's not even appropriate to take seasons or even years! However, the summer of 1976 averaged 12.1 deg c (CET). That's only been beaten by 2003 and 2006. But...we have to take the urban island heat effect (UIHE) into account. If you do that then 1976 hasn't been beaten, and this summer is unlikely to do that. But even if it did, it's only weather (not climate) and it's only warming. It doesn't mean that the warming is man-made (which it isn't). Natural cycles 'cause' 99.99% of our climate. CO2 is only 0.04% of the atmosphere, and 'our' CO2 is only 0.01% of it.

Well, we're in an ice age, so, yes, it has been WAY hotter. In addition, the carboniferous period is named so because it's a period when life forms developed able to consume CO2 to sustain themselves. We call them plants, usually. At the start of the carboniferous the CO2 level was .4%. That's thirteen times higher than now and ten times higher than the level climax chains fans say causes irreversible runaway greenhouse phenomena. Turns out, s'all bollocks.

No one loves nature and supports genuine environmental causes more than myself, but the 'climate crisis' is based on nothing more than fear, ignorance and cherry-picked irrelevant data. If you think 'since records began' means anything with relation to the climate cycle of the planet... You're absolutely clueless. The climate cycle must be observed across thousands, if not millions, of years in order to determine if the current warming is normal or 'human caused'... And I am yet to see anyone present any scientific proof to suggest the latter. Quite the opposite in fact. As during the pandemic, any experts who try to speak the truth have their career destroyed and labelled 'climate deniers'. There are too many credentialed 'experts' such as this guy who just enjoy having their face on TV and getting their work funded and published by getting on board with the climate panic, which is well-funded and supported by global governments (for reasons which are nothing to do with climate).

The United Kingdom (UK) is experiencing rising temperatures. The most recent decade (2012 to 2021) has been on average 1.0°C warmer than the 1961 to 1990 average. So yes the temperature is rising. The UK has a temperate climate, so you do not get the horribly effect from climate change. But imagine living in Somalia, Yemen, South Sudan, Chad, Ethiopia, these countries are enduring five consecutive failed rainy seasons and that will start a tsunami of refugees.

In 1976 I was eleven years of age. I got up every morning of the school holiday to blue skies and was off to the woods with the dog and my mates early in the morning to climb trees and muck about. We all had a pen knife our Fathers had bought and had no intention of stabbing anybody. About midday a quick trip to the Spar in the village would be called for to buy a can of coke then back to the woods until early evening when the parents got home from work and it was tea time. No weather warnings or advice on how to re hydrate. No advice on what temperature to not take a dog out. And parents with no health and safety sense who let us go out climbing trees, carrying knives and walking through a field with a bull in it. It beggars belief how we survived it all.
