So i am daydreaming and staring out the window at the Cadet Chapel. It is beautiful. A cow on the yard yells up at me to get my mug out of the window and wait right there. I wake up from my daydream to the horror of knowing my weekend will be spent in dress marching off hours. I quickly locked up my box, squared my bunk and waited two hours for an upperclassmen that never came. Such as life for a plebe. And i wore a garrison cap. Alas i am truly grey now.

Fun fact: I go to the university program in Poland that educates most of our official interpreters (it's very likely that this interpreter went to the same school as me) and I know from experience that 99% of what we learn in our interpreting classes is how to keep up when shit hits the fan. Interpreting consecutively is relatively easy compared to simultaneous interpreting. I suspect she didn't even break a sweat interpreting this.

Juju War 22--It's "you're" not "your". Nor was I making "fun" of anyone. I was pointing out that someone who was being educated at West Point and who was hosting the President of the nation that gave us Tadeusz Kosciuszko was horribly ignorant about his own nation's founding. Now naff off.
@Justin_Taylor5 жыл бұрын
I do know who Kosciuszko was, there are a few spots on the campus dedicated to him in fact. It’s hammered into every cadet how important he was to the founding of the United States, however I didn’t feel that going into detail about this was relevant to the video. Secondly I wasn’t saying I didn’t know who he was in the video, I was saying I wasn’t aware he was such a big deal outside of the United States.
@onemercilessming13425 жыл бұрын
@@Justin_Taylor--Then, bucko, you shouldn't have said that you didn't know who he was, which you PLAINLY did. Whatever made you think that a Polish citizen who was one of the individuals who helped the Americans win their independence from the British would NOT be a "big deal" in his native Poland? The Poles, Lithuanians, etc. are proud people and have contributed much to this country. They are respected here as well as in the land of their ancestors. Still unconvinced? Try the Marquis de Lafayette. He was instrumental in winning American independence and he is a "big deal" in France, as well. It would behoove you to know that when our "dog faces" landed in France in WW II, one of them was quoted as saying, "Lafayette, we are here." This conversation is OVER. I am muting you.
