The first time i was in Bozeman was on my way to work at the old faithful inn in yellowstone. The greyhound bus dropped us off at the Bozeman bus station at 5 am April 28th 2004.. It was cold as heck..me being from pasadena calif. was not used to the cold ..however I got used to it went back for 4 more seasons in yellowstone.. one of the best experiences of my life..got to celebrate the old faithful inn's 100th anniversary. What a grand old building ..it was an honor working in such a building with SO much history.. 😊😊😊

Winter driving in Bozeman proper is not that bad, unless you’re out driving in the middle of a heavy snowstorm where the plows cannot keep up with the heavy snow. The valley where Bozeman proper is located is pretty flat land. So the flat land makes the winter driving a lot easier. In the mountain roads surrounding Bozeman the winter driving is much scarier! You pretty much have to cross a mountain pass to travel to any other city in Montana from Bozeman. If you’re crossing those passes in winter conditions, then snow tires or chains are definitely a wise idea.

I appreciate the laws requiring sidewalks to be shoveled clean within 24 hours after a snowfall. It is hard on senior citizens and people with dangerous heart conditions though. Conscientious neighbors should chip in and I'm sure many do. Modern snow blowing machines work great. I'm from Denver.

Sounds like you have to be wealthy to live here just my initial impression. You have to own a 4 wheel drive. You should own a snow plow. And the median home price is like 777,000. If you have that kind of money though you can probably afford to live comfortable in such harsh conditions.

Thanks for that information. I'm not too sure why my internet thought I might like to move to Montana in the USA, but there you go. I will say though, that as an Aussie living in the sub tropics, I am feeling slightly guilty. You mentioned people moving to Bozeman from California. Are there concerns that certain new arrivals might also bring their political views and start trying to change what it is that Bozeman people like about the place just the way it is now?
@bozemanrealestategroup3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, Australia to Bozeman seems like a reasonable trip :) While the politics are certainly a concern for many, we'd say a more popular concern is that the people moving here are not willing to help maintain the way of life we are lucky enough to enjoy here. For example, not respecting the wilderness, not being friendly or helpful to neighbors, and not giving back to the community are things that will quickly erode if all those moving here don't make an effort to help us maintain it.
@BelloBudo0073 жыл бұрын
@@bozemanrealestategroup Understood!! In some ways it's about respecting the culture of Bozeman, and I think that's fair enough too. Otherwise I'd be asking 'why are you here'?

In our little community of 3,000 California, Oregon and Washington have found us and what used to be affordable rentals and property prices. Now? You can't find a rental and those that bought on the cheap are fixing up run-down places and turning them into air bnb's. Those that sell in the other states are making a million plus then coming here and buying for a third and banking the rest. Then they decide they don't like the local services and they need improved and beautified and landscaped and so they get on the city council, planning and zoning and BAM! Just like that we have a bunch more taxes to pay so that our community looks as nice as the ones they left because of high crime, property taxes and services. And now? We are seeing more crime, drug busts, inflated property taxes and not a lot more services. See how this works?

My family is thinking of taking a short vacation in a month or so for complex reasons. We were talking about visiting Montana and I suggested Bozeman (Star Trek fan). How bad is the temperature/snow around late November/early December? If you know anything about the weather west of the Cascades how would it compare to that?
@bozemanrealestategroup2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Montana weather can be unpredictable but in late November/early December there's a good chance it will be snowy and cold. The worst of winter usually isn't until January and February. We've had some mild winters the last few years, but there could be some decent storms during those early winter months. Just last week we had nearly a foot of snow and then back to 60 degrees a few days later so in Montana you never know what you're going to get!

Dear southern California, there's 7 to 8 months of winter here with rabid Grizzly bears that love sun baked humans. The the traffic in the valley is worse than LA. Montana is full of conservative hard working people and isn't libtard friendly. Simply put, Montana is cool to visit, but don't forget to go back home 😁
@slatsgrobneck75153 жыл бұрын
True that! The state went straight RED at the state level in 2020. Usually there is a little mix but people in MT seemingly said - no blue state BS heeere. We anticipate long hard winters, because, in the spring there are fewer bugs and transplants.

@Burger With cheese homes not home anymore sadly. The valley is the next Boulder,Colorado. The biggest export of Bozeman is our youthbecuzno one can afford to live there any longer. High rise hotels going up and screwing up the skyline and city politics are all libtard run sadly. They care more about dog parks but have no proble.letting people die in the cold. I find libtards are liberal until it effects their paycheck or property taxes sadly.
