@@lifeinbozemanmt I lived there in 1980--June to September--went there the week after high school graduation. Best move I ever made as that place has a special spot in my heart that I hope I can afford to retire in in a few 👌

@@lifeinbozemanmt yeah but that back then it was because it was a pricier area compared to the rest of Montana. NOW it legit is because of all the rich Californians moving here. Average cost for a home in 2016 was around 320K - now its a million dollars. Homeless people pouring it camping all over the streets threatening people. Locals are super mean to the crowd causing this.

Hallie - great job bringing value to your audience. Appreciate your efforts; not everyone is willing to go the extra mile. And, learned something new today: Graupel, also known as soft hail or snow pellets, forms when supercooled water droplets (water droplets below freezing but still in liquid form) freeze onto snowflakes, creating small balls of ice. Graupel is often mistaken for hail but is softer and less dense.

Thank you! I appreciate you watching - and I love that you learned about graupel! It's a fun phenomenon and kinda fun to watch when the little snowballs "burst" against your windshield, etc. 😀

Missoula or Kalispell have become quit affordable. Moving out of Bozeman, city planning is terrible….its a pain getting around the city with all these changes to roadways and new construction.
@lifeinbozemanmt8 ай бұрын
I’ve heard kalispell has been experiencing similar growth, with an increase in prices. Not as familiar with Missoula but planning a video comparing areas including Missoula! There’s a lot of construction certainly, but I do believe the city is trying to keep up!

Nothing is affordable here anymore. Not Bozeman, Missoula, Kalispell, Helena or even the little towns in between. Butte and Great Falls are the exception right now but not for long.

Spent a night in Bozeman last year. Way too many homeless, campers lining the streets, tiny homes, etc... Traffic in this town was horrendously bad. Nice location but NO THANKS. I'm happy living in NW Wyoming.

I'm a fourth generation Montanan. Never did I think my wife and I would ever leave Montana let alone Bozeman. However, all the out of state people moving in with their liberal, rude, mindset have ruined Bozeman and Montana. We have our house listed and have already purchased a new home in another State. So sad to see a great place, now ruined.

Hi there and thanks for watching! Bozeman is really tough for lower cost housing or low income options, unfortunately. There are typically waiting lists for that sort of thing. The main difficulty I would say besides housing is transportation. Bozeman has a bus system but it’s not always quite right for what people need and things tend to be spread out, and when you add winter roads to that, it can be challenging if you don’t have a car with good tires and all wheel drive. Yes, there are schools for all grade levels that are great, and a wonderful college - Montana State University. People are friendly, indeed! The health system is I would say fairly typical for America - but I wouldn’t say “guaranteed” - there will be costs involved. Let me know if you’d like to talk more, anytime!

@thefishstick6 ай бұрын
@@lifeinbozemanmt Pretty rough is a HUGE understatement - said by someone who I'm guessing is living their happy California lifestyle here? Bringing in the rich out of staters and all the financial norms to the area with them.. Kicking out more and more of the local families that have lived here for generations. Before all this, In 2015, I was on a pretty good path to moving my up to a comfortable middle class income in Montana standards. Homes were $300K avg; higher than other areas but obtainable in Montana standards. And if I kept my path I would be in the position one given some time saving for a down payment. I did get to that level financially in Montana standards a couple years ago but it didn't matter.. Now the average is $1,000,000. If you're not a rich transplant - you're never going to be able to afford a home here. I've lost count of how many life long friends I've seen resentfully have to leave because they can afford the California financial norms. Many of them, including me, really had their hearts set on finally being able to realistically own homes of our own here. Then they continue to privatize land cutting off the fishing and hunting access that had been used by locals for countless years. It's beyond repair at his point. We have no way of trying to go against whats happening. Just sit here and watch as developers and real estate agents rake in what would be considered unheard of amounts of cash to most of us. This continues to ROYALLY piss many of us natives off. So yeah i'd say "Pretty rough" describes it properly lady...
