been learning toss and this is exactly what i needed to see- i think in the lower levels it feels like if you arent aggressive against the zerg or all-inning then their eco goes out of control, but then you can so easily be punished if you're out on the map with too few units at home cause lings are so fast- but the thing harstem said about scouting drone counts.... i need to learn that for sure

As a diamond zerg - the feeling is mutual. Most games against toss are a coin flip of whether you survive the inevitable timing push or not. If you do, then you have a window of opportunity to get damage in before they transition into a stupid air-toss deathball.

I play Zerg at that level and when I watch professional Protosses in PvT they always annoy the Zerg so much, but they so often just do nothing until I have 70 drones and Hive and then the position is so good

Wow! I play zerg at this level too, but have the totally opposite experience. I almost never get to hive because the protosses attack with different all ins 75% of the time. Adept all ins, zealot all ins mostly. Sometimes they go directly for carriers and go across the maps with 2 of them, and sometimes stalker all in. Maybe asia is just super cheesy then.

Yes, I have gotten better since i've started going double robo and making immortals and getting HTs. I can beat 4200-4300 zergs but I still can lose to 3800 zergs though when they 3 base all in and they just happen to have more (hydras or roaches). I also still lose to lurkers unless I turtle hard and go carrier, but I don't find that style fun and sometimes I end up going too greedy and just die before I can get enough carriers, so I end up trying to transition with immortals and hts with storm plus blink stalkers and zealots, but it's still hard to engage lurker hydra and viper with that army for me.

There's an in-game help menu that gives details on the units and includes things they're strong and weak against right? I assume it matches what's on Liquipedia, where the Immortal page lists Roach as one of the three units it's good against, and the Roach page lists Immortal as one of the three units (and only Protoss unit) it's weak against. So when your opponent is using mostly roaches... The game is literally giving you the answer.

The fact that you got 20 upvotes shows that most viewers don't understand the basics of SC2. Watch any pro PvZ match. If an Ovi scouts Stargate they always make spores and this is smart. You don't wait to count the number of Oracles. At least half a dozen Queens are made every game regardless. This doesn't do them economic harm in the sense that they need Queens to empower their macro mechanics, Queens cost zero larva and are just awesome units in general. That being said his complaint form in its entirety was just mental.

And if they make a spore in EVRY base, then getting 3 drones with an oracle is a huge sucess, in most games, for example Serall makes more like a spore in one of the bases, defending the others with queens, having propper overlord vision to relocate them on time. A spore in every base is rather rare in compettitive games. And if a spore is made in every base, basically the oralces will seldomly dive in and get any substantial amount of drones. Which kind of proofs my point. If the zerg skips on the defences, then you have to get drones with the oracles. If he goes so hard on defenses, the oracles already did their part regarding offensive duties and can be kept save just for providing vision. However, regarding this situaton the complainant whined that he wont get more than 3 drones. Well - in this situation he simply doesnt need to! And of course makeing so many queens damages their macro. They dont come for free. For your macro you basically want a queen each base and 2 on top for creepspread. In pro games, you often see up to 8, and the surplus ones are a defensive investment that did cost. They are always made because the enemy basically always throws something at you, and they are very versatile regarding defensive duties. Thus, you always see many - because just not at all harassing and/or pressuring (if you make oracles and shark around his bases without diving in you basically dont harass, but you do pressure and force a reaction) a zerg is a big no no in pro level games. You always apply some pressure somehow.

"Causing yourself economic harm" is when you make a spend that is incorrect or an over-reaction. As you confirmed they are always made - any good Zerg makes at least 6 Queens even if there were zero Oracles. Pro Zergs make two spores in the current multi-Oracle meta. One too many is not going to be game breaking at this level & is recommended by Zerg coaches, it just makes like easier to get to Masters as the Queens can often get out of position.

Also i really think it might be part of the destructive effect of freeloosing smurfs. I had in the past evenings when out of 10 games i have 4 smurfs. And you feel anything you do is pointless, because they are so much better at every asepct fo the game. And they use troll builds, so you start being afraid of everything. Thankfully I think i got over it myself. Watching replays really helps, seeing that it wasnt hopeless, and even against smurfs you had a chance here and there... I really do despise freeloosing smurfs. Smurfing as just creating a new account and passing through the ranks is not a problem, be it a youtuber for a challenge or someone other, they barely register. But the freeloosing ones are cancer, they just stay artifically in place and you keep meeting them. It hurts the ladder, it hurts sc2, and imho its disgusting - Freeloosing smurf mindset -> "I cant stand loosing when playing at my level so I will cheat and beat on players much weaker then me, therefore making them loose everytime.Also i have given up on getting any better myself"

How do you know for sure they're smurfs? Their MMR would be similar to yours. Also can you give an example of a troll build? SC2 is all about mastering builds and understanding how to react to scouting, so without context on what they're doing its hard to say what's happening.

@@hivetech4903 You must be not current, Its very easy to check, everybidy knows this. First inkling is , you can feel ingame, that he is far above your level, then you see he got ~200apm in diamond. Then to make sure you check his matches history, and you see game after game lost, that lasted 0 seconds or 10 seconds at most. He was obviosuly tanking his mmr to stay low, to beat on lower players, hence freeloosing. Its just common knowledge, 100% checkable.

Personally, i alwys build 2 zealots against 12 pool, but the moment i defend, i build 1 -2 adepts and counter attack with the zealots and adpets. It usually works pretty well, at minimum you kill 1-2 drones and force more lings, and you get rid of the useless early zealots.

Build one zealot and then the adept. Then u can go directly when the second one finishes and do even more damage, quicker. :)

My experience is if you build one zealot and the Zerg commits, you have good chance of loosing a building, becasue you dont have a unit with which to attack teh zerglings for a long time. You might try microing out and back in to the door, but its risky and rarely cuts it.

@@firestarter000001 Its a dance with the zealot. Just go out enough for the lings to stop attacking, and be careful of a surround. When the lings are avoiding the zealot, they arent attacking the building. If you have one shield battery, there is no problems at all, your adept will get out and from that point, zerg has just lost because they invested so much into a rush that did nothing, and protoss laughs with their 2base :D

That imba report is funny cus storm fuckin melts everything except roaches or ultras, and immortals melt both of them. Same with archons in general, and you make them from gates so you can warp them in in mass as long as you make enough gates. Terran however is a much harder fight for toss imo. but zerg is mostly light units that melt to aoe and toss has storm aoe, archon aoe, and walking aoe lazer towers that are basically only weak against aa which is a huge commit/mid to late game for zerg. Banes are even terrible against most toss units because they are armored with high health or shields.

Lol yea I bane busted every toss up to d1. It just showcased how precise you have to be as toss to not die to all ins in LOTV. That's just how the game is now with the battery imo. Obviously the higher up you get the more precise players are and so people don't lose to all ins anymore. I didnt try playing macro zerg though. I agree it is probably hard, I just don't like how I can't mass stalkers but zerg can mass roach and win games or just ling flood and win games against a toss that makes one mistake.
