Every relationship I've been in has gotten me so distracted with maintaining the relationship that I lose sight of what I actually want for myself, and when the relationship inevitably ends, I forget I ever wanted that, and it rarely comes back. Even if it does come back, it's without the ferocious energy I once had. Great RR!

I think dating sites have made it much worse. Humans have been reduced to stat sheets and are being directly compared with each other before they have even been interacted with. People see someone with a flaw and immediately reject them because they see others that don't have that flaw. They never have a chance to realize that there may be other qualities that outweigh the flaw.

If there's a secret to being happy, it's to stop focusing on the minutiae of life and instead focus on the big picture. Visualize a goal and then work towards it steadily. Most of the time, there are no shortcuts, so don't try to cut corners. Eventually, things either work out or they don't. If they don't, then just do what makes you happy.

That's a great video! You don't need an "ideal", you need just someone who genuinely cares(and cares for a long time, not "honey months" only)! If both sides care in a long time - both will adapt to changes finding a good compromise!

Off, sorry but something you said made me really laugh: "I married her to shut her up!" - usually it is the reverse process: divorce not not listen to the person anymore and have some distance. No offence, we all make mistakes when we are young, and i did my part of mistakes too!

This is something that has been plaguing society since at least the 1960’s/1970’s. Gen X was latchkey kids, and had relationships that had mixed results. I knew several Gen Xers who are now single because the dating market is completely saturated. Yes, even people in their 50’s. I had a number of GFs throughout my time in highschool, college, and the work life. Little amounted to anything other than puppy love, going out to the movie theater, going to a bowling alley, drinking at a bar. Real relationships have been hollowed out and replaced what many people call hook up culture. Meanwhile the majority of society is glued to smartphones, looking up to social media influencers or a celebrity like Taylor Swift, who ultimately means nothing to them.
