Hello mam, I am working as Content Quality Check and looking for switch to Software Developer role in same Ed-Tech company. I have talked to Content department head, IT department head and HR. They all agree, and I will be considered as fresher in Software Developer role. Please tell me, how can I convince HR - to keep my compensation same as I am being paid in Content role, and that it shouldn't be lowered.
@johnkimani19883 жыл бұрын
I think employers should be compelled to state the salary range when advertising for a role. This is actually a win-win as you also weed out candidates who might look amazing but wouldn't be willing to work for your organization based on the compensation range.

10 classic questions asked during an interview: 1 - Tell me about yourself. 2 - Why do you want to work for us? 3 - Give an example of where you were able to use your leadership skills. 4 - What are your strengths and weaknesses? 5 - Where do you see yourself in five years? 6 - What is your greatest achievement? 7 - Why should we hire you? 8 - Are you a good team player? 9 - What are your salary expectations? 10 - Do you have any questions?

Spot on 😂 it’s like they are reading from a teleprompter. Some people have no skills to interview other people and not sure why they let them conduct the interviews. This is NUTS!!! I am not sure where I see myself 5 years from now, does the company value its employee for me to make that determination?

Working at Walmart we recently went through pay band consolidation. They said that they researched the industry, comparable companies, and out of that adjusted the pay bands to make them more competitive. I asked about the research, industry averages, who the comparable companies were, etc. The answer is that their industry research involved just Walmart because there is no other company that is comparable to Walmart.
