What are your thoughts on the Raptors acquiring Brandon Ingram? Does Jimmy Butler move the needle for the Warriors? What else can we say about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? NBA analyst Jevohn Shepherd joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

I just want to note how much Jevohn has improved as a broadcaster and analyst over the years. This was a really, really solid segment. I agree with his take on the Ingram trade. I think it's possible to quibble with the philosophy behind this trade if you wanted the Raptors to do a gradual, outright rebuild, but I think the current squad, when healthy, is already too good to make that viable. A trade like this is good value, given that Olynk and Brown weren't likely to be part of the future anyway, and the only genuinely valuable asset given up was the FRP. This was a good, opportunistic move by the Raptors. It didn't cost much.

The Raptors wouldn't have traded for Ingram if they didn't have a wink-wink deal in place. The Raptors add proven scoring and some length to their starting 5. Ingram is a bucket - a go to player that can create his own shot. Poeltl, Barnes, Ingram, RJ, and IQ, is a very solid starting 5. With some form of Robinson, Chomche, Boucher, Mogbo, Battle, Dick, Walter, Agbaji, Mitchell, Shead, 2025 FRP, off of the bench. Plus, any free agents they can sign this summer. The Raptors now have some quality depth. If they add Maluach during the draft it would be the perfect fit for the projected roster - as is. The rebuild is over!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Let him rest and be healthy for next year and rest of the season. Tank the rest of the way. Get a high draft pick this year and win next year. That’s likely the plan. I would also argue, that just because you're in a re-build doesn't mean you have to just sit back and wait on trades for draft picks. Masai saw an opportunity to jump on a great trade without having to give away too much at all. I'm seeing about a 50/50 split on the support for this trade. The people who are against it are trippin. They are going on about trading away a Canadian. Who cares, Kelly Olynyk while I really like the guy, and he is a decent big man. He's not even close to Jacob Purtle an we're not going to win anything with Kelly Olynyk, sorry! Bruce Brown has been pretty cool to watch, but again he's nothing special. And so many people complaining that Raptors traded away a very late 1st round pick that is not even theirs, but the Pacers. If you don't understand why you're complaining about something, then just don't complain because you sound stupid.

so we basically traded Siakam for Ingram with a year of not having Siakam. Do people don't understand accounting or they only live in the moment? What did we get from the Indiana transaction other than resulting Ingram? I like the trade, but lets not give Masai so much credit like this was a "good trade". I'm excited with Ingram and what he can do for this team, but lets hold management accountable. They basically traded Siakam (a similar player) for another similar player, but Siakam was home grown and loyal. It's not a win-win....its we did something it didn't work out, we're trying to salvage. What did we keep from Indiana? It literally all went into this trade minus a couple late picks last draft. We traded Siakam because of FIT with Scottie.

We also got Ochai and Walter with Ingrim now for Siakam. So altogether it was a good haul and also Ingrim is 27. He fits our timeline better.

If you watched the team involved here play basketball - the Raptors, you would realize they picked up Ingram (who is three and a half years younger), Walter (very good potential) and Ochai (who has been fantastic this year defensively and improving offensively).

It's really the return for pascal. Bruce brown was $20 mill, so another trade chip down the line

Picking up Bruce Brown option was a dumb move he got hurt and tanked his trade value. Masai could have got a first round pick if he immediately traded him to a third team after we got him back in the package for Siakam. My guess is Brown if he can’t be flipped by the Pelicans before the deadline might get bought out then he most likely reigns with Denver for another title run on a minimum contract.😂😂

Masai with his rolling the dice move again. For some reason I don’t think his style of play fits the team.

Really Happy Kelly is gone, he was the weakest link on the team dragging them down. Now they can play faster, stronger, better Defense.

It makes perfect sense. Getting talent for very little and not impacting the tank much - Ingram is currently injured. It's not like the Raptors are going to pass ten teams in the standings.
